  • 3 rank pipe organ connected to Hauptwerk. Principal 4´, Gedackt 8´and Viola 8´are on an electric windchest. The organ plays wonderfully as an pipe organ by itself and all stops can be used as 8´, 4´ or 2´.
Additionally a Hauptwerk is connected with midi and gives you more possibilities. Although not really satisfied the Hauptwerk will be replaced with an new organ module.

"MIDI" simply means that the pipe organ is capable of sending data about notes played and released and stops changed, using the midi language. This midi data can be sent to any musical instrument that is built to process it. "Hauptwerk" is a company that makes digital recordings of pipe organs throughout the world. Hauptwerk software accepts midi data from any source, and reacts by playing the digital recording of the pipe(s) and turning stops on/off.

Wonderful ! Thank you ! It is so good to see a really good small pipe organ connected to Hauptwerk.

Hauptwerk has MANY sample sets you could use with this little organ. You could choose a neo baroque sample set with no reverb to match with the pipe ranks. The pipe ranks sound terrific by the way!

Does Hauptwerk track the tuning of the pipe organ and adjust the tuning of the virtual stops to match the tuning of the pipe organ?

If Hauptwerk is not being used to extend the small pipe organ, why was it necessary? Why not use MIDI sequencing software that does a better job of managing MIDI captures and playlists? Is Hauptwerk being used to add more stops through sound sampled from larger pipe organs?

      What is MIDI sequencing software?
I did use Hauptwerk to simply add more stops to the 3 real pipe stops.

@@rattengarden MIDI sequencing can either be software on a general-purpose computer, or a hardware unit, i.e. a “sequencer”. Its purpose is to record and play back the note (and registration, etc.) sequences of a performance, much like what a player piano does. Since this organ has electric chest action, it probably would work with a sequencer. The MIDI standard was not designed with organs in mind, so the various companies that make electronic organ relays (e.g. Syndyne was mentioned in the video) each have had to come up with their own way to encode stop changes into MIDI messages. If you want to use a sequencer, you need to check that it meets the specific needs of the organ’s relay system. I believe Syndyne themselves made a sequencer unit at some point; I don’t know if they still do.

    Mediocre at best.
