Pipe Organ Restoration
Saint James Church Montago Bay, Jamaica
The historic pipe organ from Henry Bevington, England, from 1890 in the parish church of Saint James, Jamaica. The organ had been repaired in 2022 but is still not easy to play and several parts of the organ are not functioning. More repairs will fallow. But the talented organist Alex Gray plays it so well.

MIDI Pipe Organ with 3 pipe ranks
มุมมอง 10K3 ปีที่แล้ว
3 rank pipe organ connected to Hauptwerk. Principal 4´, Gedackt 8´and Viola 8´are on an electric windchest. The organ plays wonderfully as an pipe organ by itself and all stops can be used as 8´, 4´ or 2´. Additionally a Hauptwerk is connected with midi and gives you more possibilities. Although not really satisfied the Hauptwerk will be replaced with an new organ module.

Positive Pipe Organ

This mechanical pipe organ in historic organ case has four stops. The organ is recorded in my work shop without any acoustics. Placed in a church or larger room the sound will be more interesting. Although the Gedackt 8' has a beautiful sound here. It is made from pine and not oak. I believe pine wood has a better resonating sound than oak, especially if the pipe walls are rather thin. The pipe...

Praise to the Lord, the Almighty on the Historic Hinners Organ in Fedor Texas
มุมมอง 4.4K10 ปีที่แล้ว
The Hinners Organ in Fedor ,Texas was built 1920 with 3 stops. Principal 8', Gedackt 8' and an Gambe 8'. These three 8 foot stops their not enough to accompany the church for hymn singing. It might be a different case in 1920 but today the organ was just way too soft in sound and almost neglected. During the restoration in 1999 I added careful an Principal 4' and Octave 2'. Both stops have a Si...
Stunning concert hall at Festival Hill Institute in Round Top Texas

For many years I worked at this beautiful Institute in Texas. As I restored several organs in the tiny German village Round Top I saw the construction of this amazing concert hall and the surrounding gardens. Festival Hill is today a pleasant contrast to many other small towns where the main attraction is just an intersection of two roads. In a time with public money only for the most basic nee...

Beautiful organ!
Does Hauptwerk track the tuning of the pipe organ and adjust the tuning of the virtual stops to match the tuning of the pipe organ?
haha looks like a small version of our village organ...i like organs but religions are blasphemy
Hmmm -- I wonder if a Negative Pipe Organ would sound any better -- or worse???
I've been wanting to build my own organ but want mine to be foot pumped and require no electricity like my reed organ and a smaller footprint so I'll always have room for it.
I want a pipe organ in my house one day 🤗🤗🤗😍😍❤️
How much it’s cost ?
Wo bekommt man sowac her?
Hauptwerk has MANY sample sets you could use with this little organ. You could choose a neo baroque sample set with no reverb to match with the pipe ranks. The pipe ranks sound terrific by the way!
how much did he pay for this?!
Schöne Orgel !!
A very attractive calliope.
Too much chiff for me. Such an attack lends the sound more to fairground music than classical, if you ask me. Whether it's a result of size, construction, or personal taste, it's honestly neither here nor there though. It sure is a treat to look at, and the craftsmanship speaks for itself!
It seems like an appropriate amount of chiff for this type of organ (I personally find it useful for practice organs as well).
👍
Wow
👍 Very nice, neat set-up. Sounds great.
Dove li vendono questi organi?
I think that of all the small organs I've known, Pfeiffer and Hinners were the very best. I love their sounds.
Nice job, especially the old German hymn tunes.
Mediocre at best.
What a marvel has been wrought here over the last 50 years! And what a thrill that my Viola Concerto will be heard here this summer, July 9.
What composers were you playing?
"MIDI" simply means that the pipe organ is capable of sending data about notes played and released and stops changed, using the midi language. This midi data can be sent to any musical instrument that is built to process it. "Hauptwerk" is a company that makes digital recordings of pipe organs throughout the world. Hauptwerk software accepts midi data from any source, and reacts by playing the digital recording of the pipe(s) and turning stops on/off.
would like to have heard the full organ, still, it's a very wonderful instrument.
So cool. Would be right at home in a chapel.
What do you mean -"Cool" ?
I need one haha!! 😍
Wie heißt das Lied am Anfang?
Wonderful presentation of what goes into a tracker organ. The instrument sounds lovely.
If Hauptwerk is not being used to extend the small pipe organ, why was it necessary? Why not use MIDI sequencing software that does a better job of managing MIDI captures and playlists? Is Hauptwerk being used to add more stops through sound sampled from larger pipe organs?
What is MIDI sequencing software? I did use Hauptwerk to simply add more stops to the 3 real pipe stops.
@@rattengarden MIDI sequencing can either be software on a general-purpose computer, or a hardware unit, i.e. a “sequencer”. Its purpose is to record and play back the note (and registration, etc.) sequences of a performance, much like what a player piano does. Since this organ has electric chest action, it probably would work with a sequencer. The MIDI standard was not designed with organs in mind, so the various companies that make electronic organ relays (e.g. Syndyne was mentioned in the video) each have had to come up with their own way to encode stop changes into MIDI messages. If you want to use a sequencer, you need to check that it meets the specific needs of the organ’s relay system. I believe Syndyne themselves made a sequencer unit at some point; I don’t know if they still do.
A truly lovely instrument! Thank you for posting.
Wonderful ! Thank you ! It is so good to see a really good small pipe organ connected to Hauptwerk.
One of the nicest looking small organs. Without the player as a reference, it looks much larger than it is; very well proportioned.
Absolutely BEAUTIFUL and perfect for home use as demonstrated. As would anything, it would sound gorgeous in a reverberant room. Bravo to you!
Ja Ja
Awesome!!! Applause from the hardest name in Africa.
thank you. Do you have any pipe organs in your area?
Beautiful tone.
What a fine piece of craftsmanship - both in terms of design, mechanic, voting and case design and construction!
Thank you so much.
i wonder how much a contraption like that costs
Do all the facade pipes play?
All of them, it is the Quint 2 2/3 . Except the two small fields.
How are you getting that organ out through that door?
The organ is sitting on metal wheels and the top can be taken off.
This is lovely, but I'm confused as to why there's no 2' stop but rather two quint stops. For 4 stops, I would think 8, 4, 2, 1-1/3 or 8, 4, 2-2/3, 2 would make more sense.
I belive for a house organ you don´t need a 2´ stop as it makes most of the time the organ too loud. Both Quint stops here add more character than a higher octave to the organ one at a high pitch and the other just a bit higher than a 4´.
@@buschbeckorganbuilding3600 If a 2' is too shrill in the space, how do you make a 1-1/3' work? Is the 1-1/3' voiced to be softer than a 2' would need to be?
@@organist1982 You can make it softer, the pipes are smaller, it is just a totally different sound.

Yes, I wondered what had happened to the fifteenth!
Wonderful instrument! Do you by chance have the name of that score book you're playing out of? It looks like a lovely oblong print!
Thank you for your comment. It is the Orgel Choralbuch from Hermann Grabner. From the Evangelische Verlagsanstalt Berlin.
@@buschbeckorganbuilding3600 thank you!
@@klavsberks1150 These are all my own design and not ment to share. But you can download the photos from my website and make a drawing from it.
This is a great starter pipe organ
For a home this is as big as it can get without offering up bedrooms. If you would buy this it would cost like 25000$. Not really a starter instrument. For a starter a Hauptwerk organ is way more affordable 🙂
The organ is beautiful
Votre orgue est vraiment superbe. Le trémolo donne une profondeur supplémentaire à sa sonorité qui est belle et très chantante. Merci de faire partager ce moment gracieux.
How much in US dollars? Thx!
@Girl On A Quest that is quite a bit. i certainly do love it, but that is out of my range
@@Richard-vq7ud You might want to inquire with the builder versus relying on the opinion of others as being factual. It's probably not going to be "cheap" (whatever that is), but bear in mind the complexity of this instrument and the fact that it's handmade and of superior quality. I wouldn't guess the price, I'd simply contact the builder.
@@bhigdaddymark yes, that is correct. they say that you get what you pay for. i have no doubt that organ is worth every penny. im not actually interested in purchasing, just like to learn. I already have a used Ahlborn Galanti that fit my budget and house, and i love it.
@@Richard-vq7ud That's better than nothing of course. Are they still around, or were they absorbed by someone else (Viscount)? If I had the money, I'd buy a refurbished Rodgers 835-B by Walker Technical Organs for home use. I can't imagine what an instrument of this size would cost, but I'm going to share this video with my pipe organ builder friends and get their professional opinion. I just thought that her estimation was a tad high especially considering she didn't reveal a position of authority as having worked for or currently working for a pipe organ builder especially one who exclusively builds Tracker organs. This organ is what, 3 to possibly (albeit I think four ranks) 5 ranks and according to her totally unsubstantiated estimate, that organ is $30-33K per rank? I'd find that hard to believe. I just went online and found a Rodgers 205 Hybrid which is an analog electronic (II/5) two manual organ with 5 ranks of pipes and 38 speaking stops, AGO console/pedalboard that the seller GRAFTON PIANO COMPANY listed for $11,890 or $8,990 as is. I'd be surprised to see this organ priced more than $40K (between $20-40K), but I just don't know. Enjoy your home organ Richard and be safe.
@@bhigdaddymark Yes, i agree with your analysis. Ahlborn is still around. My favorite part of it is the digital acoustics. As much as I love the true pipe organ, I still believe any organ is only as good as its' acoustics. Imo, the best pipe organ without acoustics would be like a grand Steinway minus the sustain pedal. I had a lot of fun hacking up some old Conn pipes and incorpoating used Allen speakers to carry the bass. No, it is not the real deal, but it has a magnifiscent pipe display and i feel like a king playing it and looking at it everyday. One of my favorite phrases is "better than nothing'... Maybe someday, i have thought about getting a real pipe organ, removing furniture, and then covering ever square inch of my living area with tin. I dont know how that would work, but it would be fun!
Mr. Buschbeck, you are indeed a gifted craftsman. I am happy to have "discovered you" as I am always looking to share the names of organ builders with others.
this definitely one of the more aesthetically pleasing organs that i've seen.
It reminds me of Nemo’s organ in its design.
@@Tempusverum who is that?
Instrument needs a place in a church. beautiful .
Organs in churches are being used less and less. It's a cultural thing. Few people understand the organ. (Unfortunately.) This little house organ is excellent. SATB hymns sound great.
