Nothing has been confirmed yet of course, but I think it's always nice to openly, constructively talk about where the direction of the game might go beyond the initial finishing off of features in the lead up to the 1.0 release. I personally in the short term would love to see more water in the game, more map variety and more resources, but bigger features like Multiplayer & Modding would open up the game to huge new realms of possibilities! Let me know what you think below!
Castlebuilding and defence would be so heavenly! I don't know if he has talked about it. But I still would have two Ideas to extend these small regional politics to greater national policy. -"King's call": the King/ Kaiser/ Duke etc. calls for you as his vassal to aid in foreign affaires. You have to provide men and resources. In return you gain regional Influence and support for expansion. The outcome of the greater offmap war changes your situation. Less or no man returns home, there are no spoils of war, mabe even stronger foreign raidingparties appear for some amount of time etc. -"Kings Intervention": You shouldn't just invade everybody nor be in a longer military conflict. This weakens the greater kingdom. This would be unrealistic. So if AI or the player is to militarily aggressive, the king outlaws him or sends troops. So if you want to weaken the opponent, you have to isolate him politically and gain support by the king (with kings call or paying mor tribute for example). Mabe you could ask slavic magic on his opinion to these ideas and castlebuilding?
really hoping for sieges and an expansion of the map. Needs to be much larger. Itd be perfect if you could start as a small village owner very minor lord, capture neighboring villages like the game is now. Then once you capture that region you become the count of whatever. Then the next goal is to become the duke and conquer neighboring counts lands then finally revolt against the duke to become duke and so on until you become king.
@@65stang98 probably wont happened like that but for sure would be cool. If nothing moders can probably make it. Having each map be one county is a good solution to maps and armies getting too big and casuing gameplay issues where the game break.
One thing i hope they add, water (rivers, ponds) there are so mush possibilities: watermills (flour, planks, ect) fishing, iron/gold gathering. Bridges, dams floods (flooding fields for fertility). It freezes in winter so then u can’t use it, but it makes resources gathering/processing double as fast. Even details like people washing their clothes in the river would be so good

Fishing and maritime trade routes. Building ports, harbors and ships. That would be amazing with these graphics. Eventually explore the sea, but even if that's not possible, just the building of costal looks and activities (with an impact on economy and trade) would be mazing. Landmarks and huge infrastructures like aqueduts...oh well, this can be a game to live for more than a decade.
If I recall, modding support was alread considered in the early stages of development. Because man, the game has everything to make a Sengoku Jidai type of mod work.

About 20 hours in on my first play through I discovered the bug that doesn’t allow you to continue a game in sandbox mode. I was gutted but seeing my village slowly turn into a town that grew organically (not on a grid) and become this picturesque slice of medieval Europe was something special. Can’t wait to see what gets added to this in the future it’s the dream game I would’ve made if I were a dev.
For me personally, having a Colonial America's overhaul mod for Manor lord's is actually pretty cool since, Colonial America is focused on making a colony, and since the battles are small I think for me it would be a great idea for a overhaul
I would love to see the 3rd person perspective mode to be more interactive like interact with buildings to make the process go faster something like that or interact with your villager
- Maps with ponds, rivers, lakes, seas, islands(fishing, navy, harbours, watermills, merchant ships etc) - Some type of hero system(generals, knights) - Different types of works(gold, copper mines, salt mining, library, papermaking, university, pig farming, grape fields, winemaking, milk and cheese production etc) - Siege weapons and countermeasures(fortification, ditch etc) - Cavalries These are the most important things.
I would love a 12th century setting, either in a future DLC, update or mod on the steam workshop as it would fit in with the aesthetic of a cathedral city that I’m going for. Furthermore my hopes for a map that resembles something close to a nation would be awesome as well.
I hope that the developer will also add modding tools to Steam! or the possibility of working with a workshop for modders, but overall I like the game and of course I will play this game! and yes!!!! damn it! The game already has everything for multiplayer! just need to add it! and it will be damn cool! and the game will have a long life!!!
Two mods i'd like to see Walking around in first person before a battle, giving a speech to the troops while holding up a sword which you can bounce off the raised weapns of your troops.... like at helms deep Undead zombie mode. Manor Lords meets They Are Billions
multiplayer and modding is a must in the near future i mean i really want to play this with my friends and other players, and the modding maybe we can recreate some historical battles or towns based on mods create by other talented modders
I personally have a couple of features I think should be added as both on the management side and combat side of the game Management: 1.Water, now not a well but things like a river, a lake or even at some point an ocean for a costal settlement, which would introduce new trade goods, pearls, sea shells, weeds, food and most importantly a tipes of wether effect that in winter the lake would for example freeze over. I mean a medieval game without a atleast 1 water wheel somewhere in there, it just feels wrong. 2.A type of domestication system, cuz as far as I can see there hasn't been anything added and people did domestice animals so dont say it not realistic. I mean even pets existed so mabey exotic pets bring up influences or prestige if it even comes into play. 3.For later in the game with big towns a city watch, that will ten to one have city walls, now for small villages they wouldn't have it as they ar usually tight knit communities but for large towns, city guard did exist, however they were usually volunteers rather than paid soldiers but I do feel for a more secure(and cool looking) town they can add a type of payment and establish it as a job in the game for game purposes. 4. Now a type of law system, now in the early game it wouldn't have frequent use but mabey a deserter or a man trying to steal crops can get a beating and then be sent back to work, but in large town, exile for murder, trial by combat or whatever and then left to get back to work or mabey a consistency of bribes making for large amount of money because someone wanted to prank the farmer. 5.Large maps somewhere along the road as I feel a single province is good for early to mid game before it gets kinda repetitive in such a small place, mabey a unit of 4 provinces would be good for a true baron. The scale of battle, politics and schemes would make it also enjoyable for the more behind the scenes actions. Combat: Now ofcourse I know this game is primarily a city builder/manager game but you cant push away the potential both pieces have. 1. I feel there should be more customizability in the revine, as I only saw melee troops, but having bowman possible in the revinue and not just in the militia or as expensive mercs would be a good adition. Also I know this sound bad but animals of war would be cool, horses, dogs( there are examples in greeg, pertians and even rome) ect, mabey not elephant as.. well it would be kinda ridiculous for such a small scale 2. Larger revinues for mid to later stages in the games or mabey reasurches for more garrison as at that scale of a large city I feel walled cities would have a sort of professional army at its beck and call. Also I feel you should be able to have a standard load out for units of revinue if you want a single unit of axemen/macemen/halberdiers ect. 3. Traps, if you have a city you probably want a moat around it, mabey some traps set up before a battle and even an ambush type of gameplay for stealth against enemy forces. I do agree that mods would push this game onto the hall of Fame of gaming history, a revolution on the stage of gaming
Im just gonna comment on the retinues cause thats what i know. All the rest i agree somewhat. Retinues currently are formed by men at arms, basically sergeant footmen that are richer and get engaged by the lord for his own safety. While they could carry bows, it would make it painfully hard to code both melee and ranged into the same unit, as you wouldnt really see bowmen in light armor next to heavy armored soldiers. As for the unit size, that i agree could be made bigger as the region progresses in level. Anyway, im pretty sure this retinue will have you choose between knights and men at arms as horses get introduced in the games, so the bowmen become even less viable
@Luke1902 Yeah, that makes sense. I just hope they find a way to add in a better bow unit or mabey a way to train up militia so that they can have better bows and armor. Thanks for the info though appreciated 👍
@@clewintheunissen7438 Im pretty sure militia bowmen can get "upgraded" with some armor: helmets and brigandines for now if im not mistaken, making them closer to the mercenaries. Total War gives them more range and more HP, but realistically you would only split them by experience and raw strenght. More exp = more accuracy while more strenght = more distance. @Luke1902 Thanks for telling me about the armor as that's exactly what I mean. That makes sense, I was thinking of like a possible Crit shot, like a arrow through your neck would end you quickly. The range and accuracy can be done with either training, like a training field for militia that would help increase a type of Exp meter, while battling does it quicker, but higher chance of death and all. So that can work. Also the different bow makes sense as better bow, higher damage, but you need a certain amount of experience to use sed bow

You could start as a humble Thematic soldier and expand into one of the Dynatoi Noble families of Byzantine history. That would be amazing! Thanks for sharing your ideas.
I hope modding capabilities release soon, but according to the FAQ it's only after 1.0, this will make things so much better as we can not only add a lot of new things, but people can choose what they want and don't want.
I am worried there will be so many request for additional game play the developer won’t be able to handle it all. If it was a company like CA that would be one thing but a solo developer with small company backing might not be able to collectively appease everyone.
I have no interest in multi player but I understand the attraction and hope they can get it going someday. Want to see more rivers lakes and streams as someone said below. Locating near water was a big deal back then.
lol so I've been playing fallout, and when you talked about modding, and creating new like time periods. I just thought imagine you are in the commonwealth, and you are just building settlements lol. like just a simple reskin but I mean, kinda fun idea too me
I knew what this game was from the start, that's why I've said I'm not interested until we get mod tools, but for the record CA is the Total War killer.
i want a campaign that has a impossible giant city that you need to defeat that controls all the area and you are just in the corner starting your little village and they harras you with taxes that you need to pay and when you dont pay you get attacked
Manor Lords feels like a nice Demo so far. But I still feel like the city building and economy is lacking complexity. Reaching the end-game in one of my regions in under 10 hours doesn't feel challenging. I remember putting 100+ hours into single maps in Cities: Skylines or Anno 1404. Manor Lords, so far, doesn't give me any long term motivation. The attempt to include RTS elements is not going great so far, either.
If ever in the future he will focus on making city build & battle fairly , this game can live long enough. If it just more to city building , nahhhhh its not gonna be good unless there will be castle building .
Modding is two-sided. A big part of MLs Charm is the meticulous Detail to historic facts and depictions. Modding would almost certainly take that away, if the modders dont have a big team of historians at their disposal.
What year and location is this set in? I’m just thinking that could be a big variable because say like an Italian city state would have a lot more autonomy and interactions with other towns. As opposed to a village near Paris that is pretty much under royal control
@@TheTerminatorGaming creator is from Poland but i do believe he based this game in Medieval Germany so it might be Prussian land as the Dev is from this region
These days, I hate to say it, but no one should buy a game in the first 6 months of release. None of them are ready. It’s better to wait at least 6 months and get the game on sale WITH all the optimization, patches, and new content the developers are working on at release. This developer statement and video just further cemented my opinion that I should wait 8-12 months to pick this game up on a steam sale. I would rather get a complete and optimal game at a discount then rather than play through an unoptimized and frustrating game that is getting regular patches now.
Gonna skip this one, it didnt become what I hoped. Will be looking forward to their future works. But it looks amazing, just missing to much features that I love in these type of games
Step backwards the game looks great but the ability to go from strategy to first person combat was what made bannerlord special. Hopefully the early access is the reason I’m seeing you are not able to do this…
Coop might be nice but I think they should focus on keeping it small-scale and completed. Then Manor Lords two could be a massive upgrade. More devs, More budget. More experienced. With Prelay foundations.
No, he said he will keep updating the game. As for why there is no road map, it seems more likely than not he doesn't want the stress of a set time line and path in case something unexpected happens.
I mean, he will, ofc there will be new content in the future, but dont expect it to come instantly and with a set time frame for you to say “oh look, horses come next month” It makes sense honestly, first few months are gonna be polishing and bug fixing, then new content, but as people learn the game they make different requests, and choices have to be made, so giving a set time with a roadmap, considered hes doing it solo, would only make the job harder
I'm going to be honest with you I am getting kind of sick of modding turning one game into a completely different one I mean at that point just make your own you got godot a free game engine with the use of blender. Just saying
Clickbait video you talking about stuff that the developer do not want to develop (sadly) like multiplayer so there is no reason to make this video if not to bait people
4:20 dude needs to stop talking policiys and governments tabs would ruin this process the dev should take any consideration of the game within its own grain of salt
I feel like Early Access is actually perfect for this game (and obviously due to the fact it is ONE guy making it!) It reminds me a lot of Subnautica in terms of its development. First time I played Subnautica I already loved the base mechanics and feeling of it so much I stuck around during the entire Early Access period eagerly awaiting each update and providing feedback to the devs. This feels the same way. Absolutely fantastic unique feeling building these towns and can't wait to see more buildings, combat mechanics, and story emerge!
Yeah I think they should wait to to manor Lords 2 for multiplayer . Because it could be built from the ground up with that in mind. I think keep it simple keep it good get it complete. Then with more budget experience. With more devs with a solid foundation
@@mygetawayartfawk but the ability to go from strategy game to first person combat was what made bannerlord and war band special hopefully he doesn’t abandon that and go full cities because if so I’m out 🤣😂🤣

At some point(s) there will be cobat updates and that will determine how much the game will lean towards the cobat aspects of the game. I havent played it but at the moment it looks like the focus is 3 parts city builder 1 part combat. I would think as time goes on it will lean a bit more towards cobat but will always be mostly focused on city building. Maybe oneday there will be multiplayer and even a very niche copetative scene.
the reason people see it as a total war killer is probably because total war is actually pretty bare-bone. From what I have seen so far, from combat it is closer to a total war battle than not. total war has a problem with a lack of innovation and changes. from what I have heard if you don't start with multiplayer compatibility in mind when developing a game it is a fuck ton of work to make it multiplayer-compatible. I would not expect this game to be an MP game if the dev has currently has no intention of it now.

I am worried there will be so many request for additional game play the developer won’t be able to handle it all. If it was a company like CA that would be one thing but a solo developer with small company backing might not be able to collectively appease everyone.
I strongly recommend Schwerpunkt for historical consultancy
Would be nice to get a way to respec development points
I wish there were more different cultures and places with arid climates for example...
If he doesn't go the DLC route then I 100% agree with a vibrant modding community.
Hi little bit off topic but will you make reaction to KCD 2 trailer ?? :) :)
I will do yep!
I have no interest in multi player but I understand the attraction and hope they can get it going someday.
Want to see more rivers lakes and streams as someone said below. Locating near water was a big deal back then.
lol so I've been playing fallout, and when you talked about modding, and creating new like time periods. I just thought imagine you are in the commonwealth, and you are just building settlements lol. like just a simple reskin but I mean, kinda fun idea too me
Its very similar to Song of Syx gameplay. Graphic is better in Manor Lords but Song of Syx is almost 1.0 version
I knew what this game was from the start, that's why I've said I'm not interested until we get mod tools, but for the record CA is the Total War killer.
Modding tools = Manor banerlord or Total manor lord :) :)
i want a campaign that has a impossible giant city that you need to defeat that controls all the area and you are just in the corner starting your little village and they harras you with taxes that you need to pay and when you dont pay you get attacked
The attempt to include RTS elements is not going great so far, either.
god i hope its gonna have a gigant amount of mod, thats what makes a game perfect...
This is what I wanted age of empires to be 😅
If ever in the future he will focus on making city build & battle fairly , this game can live long enough. If it just more to city building , nahhhhh its not gonna be good unless there will be castle building .
I still dont know wgere this "total war killer" idea came from bc ive only seen people continuously saying it's not
So this would be a lot closer to something like Anno and Stronghold?
Modding is two-sided. A big part of MLs Charm is the meticulous Detail to historic facts and depictions. Modding would almost certainly take that away, if the modders dont have a big team of historians at their disposal.
What year and location is this set in? I’m just thinking that could be a big variable because say like an Italian city state would have a lot more autonomy and interactions with other towns. As opposed to a village near Paris that is pretty much under royal control
I think its supposed to be Bavaria
@@TheTerminatorGaming creator is from Poland but i do believe he based this game in Medieval Germany so it might be Prussian land as the Dev is from this region
6 days to go!!
I hope someone makes a Witcher or Warhammer mod.
Gonna skip this one, it didnt become what I hoped. Will be looking forward to their future works. But it looks amazing, just missing to much features that I love in these type of games
Stop with the hyperbole. This is the kind of thing the dev doesn't want content creators doing. 'Infinite potential'....seriously.
Lord of the Rings mod with online Co op
Id love to make my people Teletubbies
game is not even out yet and this guy wants already more lmao
Wait is this the best "Historical" game ever?
News are as i inform you but:"I recently beaten The Great war Western Front both sides."
Step backwards the game looks great but the ability to go from strategy to first person combat was what made bannerlord special. Hopefully the early access is the reason I’m seeing you are not able to do this…
The game takes too long to play to warrant multiplayer.
Coop might be nice but I think they should focus on keeping it small-scale and completed. Then Manor Lords two could be a massive upgrade. More devs, More budget. More experienced. With Prelay foundations.
MANOR LORDS X KINGSMAKER MOD
Does that mean that he is not going to update the game with new content ? A bout not adding a roadmap to the game.
No, he said he will keep updating the game. As for why there is no road map, it seems more likely than not he doesn't want the stress of a set time line and path in case something unexpected happens.
I mean, he will, ofc there will be new content in the future, but dont expect it to come instantly and with a set time frame for you to say “oh look, horses come next month”
It makes sense honestly, first few months are gonna be polishing and bug fixing, then new content, but as people learn the game they make different requests, and choices have to be made, so giving a set time with a roadmap, considered hes doing it solo, would only make the job harder
Wait! What's the dude s name Sloppy Majik?😂😂😂😂
Slavic Magic bruh
@@NangDoofer 😅
I'm going to be honest with you I am getting kind of sick of modding turning one game into a completely different one I mean at that point just make your own you got godot a free game engine with the use of blender. Just saying
Clickbait video you talking about stuff that the developer do not want to develop (sadly) like multiplayer so there is no reason to make this video if not to bait people
4:20 dude needs to stop talking policiys and governments tabs would ruin this process the dev should take any consideration of the game within its own grain of salt
this game looks desaturated i want fortnite mod to get more colors please
Cavalry and castle building please.
I only wish a game in which I can spend hours and relax, like Banished. And I think this game delivers beyond expectations.
I feel like Early Access is actually perfect for this game (and obviously due to the fact it is ONE guy making it!)
It reminds me a lot of Subnautica in terms of its development.
I really hope they don't waste resources on multiplayer
Yeah I think they should wait to to manor Lords 2 for multiplayer . Because it could be built from the ground up with that in mind. I think keep it simple keep it good get it complete. Then with more budget experience. With more devs with a solid foundation
They answered whether or not it was a Total War competitor but what I'm actually wondering is whether or not it is a medieval Cities Skylines...
it's much closer to Cities than it is to Total War. This is first and foremost a city builder after all.
@@mygetawayartfawk but the ability to go from strategy game to first person combat was what made bannerlord and war band special hopefully he doesn’t abandon that and go full cities because if so I’m out 🤣😂🤣
I would love to see a ancient greece mod where you compete aginst other city states simmilar to hegemony
I dissapointed tbh. Look its a AMAZing game...Well made etc. However for me personally l was hoping for a map of england and to be able to take over as king... with huge battles over each province. So yes l guess l did want a TW killer. Its a beauty of a game...just city building over battles and war isn't for me
NGL the feudal japan obsesion needs to stop. I understand why some people would like it but most are weebs. plus European Knights>Samurai
Would kill for slightly bigger map and the ability for Coop ❤
I better not be able to download on steam on the 26th. Lol I've waited longer than ye all especially the newcomers this last month lol
if he doesnt release mp, modders will..... not all heroes wear capes
The king of speculation based on nothing.
Terminator, will you be covering Kingdom Come Deliverance 2? Seems right up your alley.
I'll be honest my hype for Manor Lords has been overshadowed KCDII just a little bit.
Yep I will be!
I hope you can build a Cathedral and/or a Monastery. The current release is already great.
Its great but now You can simply build a big village and my mind is set for building a city
There better be a goddamned Hobbit mod
Hello will ML have a modding community
7:20 oh no!
will it have multiplayer ?
7:30 - I want modding tools certainly for Manor Lords. I want new periods, new settings!
NO MULTIPLAYER
I know that my suggestion is weird, but HEAR ME OUT. Mesoamerica with aztecs and mayas would be an amazing setting for a game like that
There's an Aztec city builder releasing soon as well.
Can’t wait been following for years.
