So, Lae’zel can hatch the egg and have a son? This is so unexpected! Even more surprising that she also wants to grant him the freedom of choice. That’s a whole lot of personal growth on Lae’zel’s side!
… Also, knowing this possible outcome, her response when the egg is destroyed becomes even more sad 😞

When I played with my husband we got another ending. Lae'zel kept the egg, we gave Esther owlbear one. She kept it till the end of the game but this playthrough we set Orpheus free and she decided to go with him save her people. At the end during party she was only present as some sort of hologram (?). I talked to her and she didn't mention the egg at all. We talked to others then started to read letters and newspapers. One newspaper had article about githyanki child crawling on the streets of Baldurs Gate xD so it looks like she left the egg before getting on the dragon XD

I had the unfortunate displeasure of getting the outcome on my run where the hatched githyanki becomes a murderer. Laezel’s reaction to you giving the egg to Esther along with the memory of that outcome I got makes me quite sad.

how to hatch the egg?? i have the egg from stealing it from gith coloni, i mean not exactly stealing it from gith, i have to give it to lady esther first so i can get the reward and then i stole it again from her by pickpocket.
Just keep it with Lae'zel until the end. It won't hatch until some time before the end and the epilogue.
