The hag will make it all better! Don’t cha go worryin’ yer pretty head about it. Thank you for commenting!
Me mixing whatever I can find in the bathroom:
Ah yes. Drinking all bottles of cleaning products in the shelf
Well don't do that unless you have an IRL F5. Hope you liked watching the video! Have a happy and safe weekend!
@@LegionGrey Good advice. I'll keep it for now
Honestly I was so suspicious of all these potions. I had a thought of "I bet drinking them all unlocks a hidden buff or ect" that would have been cool
Had no guts to drink these, but curiosity was killing me, thanks for the video
You're welcome! Thank you for commenting! Experimentation is a good thing.
@@LegionGrey I've always wondered if you threw these at NPCs if they'd suffer the negative effects.
That's what quicksave is for though!! :D
I tried throwing them at enemies to see if they burst and affect the enemy (like a health potion does), but it was just a waste of a turn
I swear BG3 community have a random azz vid on everything, i love these ppl & this game
Broken promises saved before the last battle. Zero downside!
Very smart! I'm glad to hear you see the way! Thank you for your comment!!
Until possible DLC after the last boss.
Was thinking just this. That and the mother's bite for improved hit. ez hits for the last battle.
Or just give it to a strength-based companion for a day, then reclass them into something that dumps it after the penalty kicks in.
@@TTRPGSarvis it should not working. Permanent buffs\debufs stays after reclassing.
I unironically did this my first run with friends. They looked at me like I was an idiot. I was. My character died a horrible death.
Well, I, for one, am proud that you chose to experiment. Thank you for commenting and I hope you have a great weekend and new year!
I did it and long rested immediately after
What doesn’t kill you makes you str- … aaand he‘s dead.
This needs to be an achievement in the game or even a point of inspiration for someone.
It reminds me of the 'A Furious Cocktail' and 'How Did We Get Here?' advancements in Minecraft.
I find it hard to disagree. I have almost 1k hours in game and i was over 1k in early access that didn't cross over (day one early access) and I don't have very many achievements. The achievements are pretty far reaching and do not always require critical thinking (example: full rest using only alcohol). It doesn't help that I'm not an achievement hunter, but drinking all the hags (or even one) potions SHOULD be something unique. Thank you for your comment! Have a great week!!
Definitely could see this as inspiration for Gale. Drinking a bunch of ambiguously labeled potions just to find out what they do seems in character for him.
It is for Guild Artisan

I see potion... I drink potion... nevermind the goo. Thank you for commenting!
"capture the fluttering thrill of first love" oh boy, thats dark. virgin sex
Larian tried really hard to get attention through their writings! Thank you for your comment!
Ergot and nutmeg sounds more like a potion to make you trip balls than a potion to make you feel like you are falling in love, lol.
You're not wrong! It is an interesting combo for effect. I thought it was a great example of simple but effective story telling. Thank you for your comment!!
since you're able to use "cure curse" on the mirror of loss debuffs, I wonder if it's able to be used on broken promises potion to gain a permanent +2 to strength, might try this in my own game
Let us know how it goes 😁
Under most of the debuffs shown have a cursed tag, unfortunately at 4:03 the reduction to 1 strength is missing the cursed tag so it probably won’t work. It’s possible that lesser or greater restoration would, however.
You would need to remove curse before long resting to prevent the loss of 1 strength. But when you do so you lose the +2 strength as its a part of that curse. So could get +2 strength until long rest and just remember to remove curse before you rest.
Broken promises is good for the final boss I guess.. everything else is useless since you can't throw potions to ennemies to trigger the effect
(replying so i get the notification of if it works)
Turns out the Hag is awful at making potions and lotions
Facts
After watching this, im glad that i sold all the potions.
That is definitely an option that makes a lot of sense. Inventory management is something many people get frustrated with and prefer to just sell things. I may make a video in the future about little known inventory management options. Thank you for comments!
You can get this info by pressing T while watching potion attributes on inventory and then moving your mouse to the string with a time of potion working
Absolutely! I appreciate your comment! There is something to be said about experimentation though. There are many things in game hidden behind the action and not the description of what may happen. Have a great weekend!!
@@LegionGrey oh! I wasn't know that! 🤩
It's really important and may change my game for better! Thank you and have a good day!
Given you can have regular potions broken and still be used, both by throwing and objects breaking them, I wonder if you could throw the potions at an enemy, then hit it with something to damage it, see if it'd break and be used on them that way?
Every test I have done results in the potions working not unlike any other object except other potions. I have not tried "dipping", but I also don't think it shows up as an actionable icon. Thank you for your comment!
You didn't have to drink them to find out their effects.
Hovering over the icon next to the potion effect's duration brings up an info box describing the effect. ✌
Good tip! Yes you definitely can find out the effects but it cannot replicate the animation nor any possible hidden cinematic. Experimentation is a good thing and we definitely encourage it! Thank you for taking the time to comment and I hope you have a great new year!!
So glad I decided to shove em all in my inventory as trophies
Well done! Some could be used at end game, but… hard to remember everything by that point. Thank you for commenting!
I just read the descriptions recently and I was like those for sure will hurt me 😂😂😂😂
They are definitely designed to provide their promised effect, but the hag will always try to get the advantage, in the end. They could be used situationally to get that extra buff when it is ABSOLUTEly needed. Thank you for commenting! Have a great day!
I was holding on to all of them haha thanks for this!
Be wary if Lae'zel is carrying the potions for u. When she ask for a duel in act II she will drink Broken Promises in the combat. Didnt notice after lots of hours later on...
That is amazing! See… that’s the kind of thing I like to hear about. Always something new.
Well now I know what to grab before taking on the phase spiders
I like how you think! Thank your for commenting! Have a great weekend!
Anyone tried if Mothers Loathing gives you a Dialogue option with that alchemist in act 2, who desperately wants to be bitten by Astarion?
If she settles for you, you dont have to ruin your reputation with him
I haven’t tested this specific issue, but I am glad to see others thinking outside the box. I don’t believe these potions perform any other service than chaos and lore. Many unique assets tend to behave like this in BG3. I appreciate your comments! Have a great new year!
To be clear, some of the worst of these can be thrown at enemies, yeah? So even they may have uses
These potions seem to have only one use as a consumable. Feel free to experiment though! Thank you for commenting!
Wilted Dreams sounds like something I actually have in real life lmao.
I can appreciate that! The descriptions are pretty great. Thank you for commenting!
@Legion Grey, thankful I watched your video, I appreciate the slow breakdown of each one, along with the voice, just subscribed 🤙🏼
Thanks for the sub!
Do you get a special cutscene on your long rest when you use "Wilted Dreams" seems like something that would come with a BG1/Morrowind style dream prophecy.
Great question. No. Did i experiment to find this out originally? Yes... I had to know.
I was thinking when I first time found these, that can I throw them at enemies etc :D
I guessed immediately that these potions pose no positive effects.
They don't appear to have any other attribute then as intended, but there is one or two that I could argue has a benefit if used appropriately. Thank you for commenting and experimenting with the game play!
I drank one, then my druid started attacking the group .....then I just sold the rest
I accidentally drank insanity’s kiss in the first big moonrise towers fight trying to drink a healing potion…needless to say the party was defeated..
Oh no! Well… thank goodness for saves.
Now I'm wondering what happens if you throw them on somebody...
I always encourage experimentation, but many unique items have an intended purpose and that's it in BG3. Thank you, for commenting!
I didn't think to drink them.. This is so good!
Glad to be of assistance! Thank you for commenting!
Thanks for this video. I was curious but couldn’t bring myself to curse Tav with them.
You dont have to add an unrelated “haha funny memes” gif every other 10 seconds dude
correct!
Good video. I collected all of those but didn’t bother to test any of them out. Liked and subscribed 👍🏼
Thanks for the sub! I appreciate you comment and glad to hear the video was informative!
Was that background music heroes of might and magic lol?
No. Almost all my videos use the game OST. Thank you for watching, listening, and commenting! I hope you have a great day!
Def will remember a couple of these to throw perhaps ?
You can throw them but I don't believe they have an effect. In other words... they work like ordinary items that aren't potions (chair, fish, etc.) Thank you for asking! I hope you have a great new year!
Definitely was to scared to touch them 😂 thanks!!
Great Video! Didn't even consider reading into these Potions! :D
Glad you enjoyed! Hope we get more of your Diablo vids soon!
@@LegionGrey Hopefully we get a Campfire Chat real soon for Season 3! ^^
Wait… I can finally bite Astarion back? Time for revenge…
That is true! I had hoped there would be a special cinematic if that happened either at the moment or later in camp. Thank you for your comment!
Anyone else catch that broken promises is a reference to the madam in the movie Holes
Bottles for my barb to throw I guess
Unfortunately, I do not believe these potions behave as others do in game. It is pretty normal for unique assets in game to behave in specific ways. I hope that helped! Thank you for commenting!!
I wonder if you can add any of these potions to the Goblins grog bowl at the goblin camp…
I don’t believe so although I cannot confirm that as well. Many unique items like these are usually not intended for usage found in common items with similar properties.
Missing pets? Thats just benadryl
But what happens if you drink ALL of them? At once
Sounds like a great experiment! Pretty sure you can by selecting all and saying drink, but... I honestly haven't considered it. Thank you for asking!
Might actually be useful to throw the negative ones at the enemy. Share the goods! 😁
A valid point but these potions do not seem to have any other function than as intended. Thank you for commenting!
What happens when you poison the goblin camp with Missing Pets?
Many unique items like the hag's potions, goblin camp barrel, arcane tower engine, etc. are unique assets and require a specific combination to work. It won't work on the goblin camp, but I like where your mind is going. Experimentation is key. Thank you for commenting.
If you threw the "Missing Pets" potion at an enemy do they get it's effects if hit?
There do not appear to be any additional benefits to these unique potions aside than as intended. I hope that helps! Experiment though! Thank you for watching and commenting!
Okay. So what if Astarion bites you in camp, then you take the potion and bite him back?
I get this question a lot! What happens in Faerun... stays in Faerun! Thank you for commenting!
@@LegionGrey I mean, isn't that how he says vampires are made?
I'm gonna have to try and see what happens
deftones reference spotted
;) Thank you for noticing and commenting!
Throwing those at enemies
Sadly no extra effects. Potions are intended for consumption by the player or a companion. :(
Better to use as as a thrown item at enemies
I don't believe they have any other use than "as intended". The limited option seems to be common for unique assets like these in game. I hope that helps! Thank you for commenting!
bro I picked them up carried them with me all game and never used them 😂
I see it a lot. Now you know! Thank you for commenting!
Thank you for the info I had all these potions just I'm my stash wondering what they really were lol
You are so welcome! Inventory management has always been something I have wondered if it would make for decent content. I doubt I could meet the details of those who are fixated on a clean inventory and perhaps uninteresting enough for loot hoarders. We’ll see. Thank you for commenting!!
Lotions and potions,.oh my!
Indeed! Auntie Ethel has what you need. Thank you for commenting! Have a great weekend!
That second brew would make you trip balls. Not in the good way either. You’d have mind rending hallucinations and be unable to hydrate at all no matter how much water you drink. Also would lose the ability to pee.
Nutmeg is an MAO inhibitor and Ergot is loaded with scary alkaloids.
You’d basically die in one of the least fun ways possible.
Although morbid, that's fascinating! Thank you for adding that information that I could have used in the video! Maybe next one I'll look into that stuff beforehand.
Helpful video, thanks for the info.
Glad it was helpful! I appreciate you commenting! Have an awesome new year!
Thanks
You're welcome! I hope you have a great day!
Hmmm might have to take a few of these and throw them at enemies
Well... you can, but they have no effect other than 1 HP damage or so. Sorry.
Can these be used to spike NPCs’ food and drinks?
Unfortunately no. These unique assets have tendency to have one purpose only, but that is not to say that the ONE purpose is to consume it. Experimentation is a good thing and I hope to find more uses out of these kind of items. Thank you for commenting!
I was so curious about those but was too chicken to try them. Thank you :)
You’re welcome 😊 Thank you for commenting!!
For science!!
Indeed! Direct observation is required! Thank you for commenting!
Could you throw them on enemies? Like the insanity one during a large battle?
I have tried to do this and it does not create an effect when thrown. This is fairly common with unique items in game. They seem to not react like similar common items. Thank you for asking! I hope that helped.
I tried throwing them at enemies and it did nothing. 😂
Correct. They only work through consuming
New challenge run idea
There has to be a use for these potions hmmm wonder what they are used on
Well... if, let's say... you are at end game and need an extra kick (extra str., immunity to poison, bite...) then these could come into their own at that point. Thank you for commenting and thinking about it.
I always wanted to know what they do! That's so interesting wow! thanks 💘
Thanks for watching! It was fun to make! This was the kind of video that really needed descriptions of each item and their effect so I couldn't just hit record and upload if i wanted to give the information it's fair analysis. Once again, thank you for your comments!!
commenting cus i liked your voice sir
So nice of you! I appreciate that quite a bit! I hope to keep the content going! Have a great new year!!
So what does Atarion do if YOU bite Him?
There is not special cinematic or reaction, but it's a nice idea! Thank you for commenting!
Hmmm.. Mother's Loathing.. Then bite Astarion back 🧐
So, with bite, can you let Astarion bite you and then bite him back?
Does not appear to have any special effect. Experiment though! Why not?
Can you throw these postions at people? Or do they need to be drunk?
10 outa 10
10/10 comment! Thank you!
Can you throw there at enemies?
There is no effect if thrown, but they can, technically, be thrown. Many unique items in game that cannot be replicated seem to work like this.
Thank you for sharing...
Thanks for watching!
Can't you throw these to your enemies in battle to make the potions affect _them?_ 🤔
These potions do not appear to have any further effect than intended when consumed. Thank you for asking!
@@LegionGrey Too bad.X-((
What are the resistances for for potions though????
Wait.... these actually do something??
They have some effects. They may not be great… but they do things.
What happens if I bite Astarion? Will he react to this in any way?
all hail the algorithm
can you throw these at enemies? i must test
They have no other effect than the physical damage (normally 1 dmg)
I assume you can toss these at enemies
Well... you can, but they have no effect other than 1 HP damage or so. Sorry.
@@LegionGrey damn, would be cool if it worked
@@aightm8 very! thank you for commenting!!
like just for supernatural meme :)
I appreciate that! Thank you for commenting!
Throw them at enemies
Great idea! Thank you for commenting! I hope you have a great new year!
I have permanent -1 str on my rogue
It is my understanding that if you die and get resurrected that it will clear the negative stat. however, it cancels any permanent good buffs as well.
THROW
Well... you can, but they have no effect other than 1 HP damage or so. Sorry.
@@LegionGrey oh bummer. Thanks for the video i didn’t know if there were any positive positions :)
nice one!
Thanks! I appreciate your comment! Have a great day!
Can you throw those on enemies?
They have no effect. Sorry :(
can you throw the potions at enemys?
Well... you can, but they have no effect other than 1 HP damage or so. Sorry.
very epic
I appreciate that! Thank you very much! Have a great weekend!
or just hover the mouse over the turns icon..........
Many animations/actions are lost if only left on read. Experimenting can lead to the unlockable action. Thank you for commenting!
question is ...
spoilers
...if the bite can be a Astorian substitute to get the eternal Vigor potion aka if counts like Dhampyr bite would be funny since you probably wouldn't get the blood buff later
Great question, but I doubt it. I think Larian intended it to be for a specific usage and not as a game long situational buff, but it would be amazing if it happened! Thank you for commenting!
Cool
Thank you very much! I hope you have a safe and happy new year!
Can you throw them at enemies ?
These potions do not appear to have any further effect than intended when consumed. Thank you for asking!
It’s pronounced er go, not er got
I appreciate your comment! I looked it up (the English major in me felt stomach drop) and it's more like, "ur get" , but that is the lovely thing about language... it's a living breathing thing and as long as the context is clear then the communication is successful. Once again, I thank you for pointing it out and I hope you have a great holiday weekend!
I saw all these potions and thought they were just decorative. I had no idea that you could actually drink them and they have different status effects! I'm on my 5th playthrough and STILL finding new things I didn't experience before, just wow
Oh there are a lot of things out there I'm sure that haven't been uncovered. Some things may be residual from cut content, but who knows. Always experiment! Thank you for commenting and we hope you have a great new year!
Ive beat the game 5 or 6 times and have had 6 other play throughs running at different points and still run into stuff i havnt tried yet.
Lol same, except I noticed they take a bonus action, which usually means they have some use.
Throwing them is also an option, they are amongst some of the strongest curses in the game and can ruin a boss you may be struggling with (AC-2 and reaction seal which is effectively permanent since it's 50 turns and no save, all on a single throw? Quite useful for certain bosses, Act 2 Marcus and his Winged Horrors really suffer with this one. Since they all dogpile Isabella, you can get them all with one throw and without their reaction paralyze claws they aren't half as much of a problem. A few carefully managed AoE's later with them having almost no evasion and the jobs done)
*you cannot handle my potions traveler…*
lol Thank you for commenting! Have a great day!
But I’m going into battle!!!!!
Hag, I require your strongest potions
I think she honestly started out as an honest craftswoman, but she was so bad at brewing potions that she accidentally killed the love of her life and has since turned into ... you know.
Hag backstory: Origins. Thank you for adding to the content 😂!
She is an Ancient Fey, probably the oldest among them. She is strong enough to alter reality and perception. No ordinary being posseses that kind of strength. Think of the Crones from the Witcher Series
the only way to turn into a hag is to be eaten by one or weird magic stuff
I still feel bad for killing her. She was so nice to me!
…
Next playthrough, DUrge and her are going to be besties.
She's a Green Hag, a powerful fey creature. You don't just turn into a hag from a potion.
there is actually a unique NPC for each unique potion , you can give them to said NPC for unique dialogue happy hunting!
I had heard this! Glad to see some validation about it! I am the type that keeps multiple saves for this issue, but if they are all in the grove then it will be tricky as I usually clear the hag long after clearing the grove. Maybe it will be a great follow up video! Thank you for commenting!
OMG my first tactician playthrough is still in act 1. Is it worth grabbing these before I finish act 1 so I can get some extra dialogue? Also are most of them in act 1 or nah? I don't need exact locations, just need to know if I need to comb through act 1 to find them. :D
These can be found in the hag's room after she is defeated. Good luck on your tactician run! @@maolcogi
Which npcs??
Do you have an example? Unfortunately I cannot find anything about that when I try to google it... :(
So some of these... like the one to gain internal bleeding... are extremely useful if you throw it at the feet of a tightly clustered group of enemies.
Like with other potions and elixirs, throwing it at the feet of a character creates a very small area of effect splash that affects every creature in it. 1 potion can go a lot further using this method.
Thank you for commenting! That would be an awesome hack, but I don't believe these potions work conventionally like other potions. Many of the unique items in game that can't be replicated kind of work this way where they are specific to the description and rarely much more. I have tried it on enemies and cannot get the effects to work, however, feel free to experiment and let me know! Have a great new year!
@@LegionGrey I'll give it a try next time I get my hands on one of those potions. I'm already past that point in my current playthrough, but I know I can get more when you can fight Ethyl again in act 3
@@LegionGrey Oh good, I won't waste time trying it then. Some of thse would have been great debuffs to use on a tough boss.
@@BYERE I think I remember threwing some at enemies and it didnt give them the debuff at all
@@ShaYneHD Yep, I just tested it last night during a multiplayer game. They don't have the same "area of effect" blob come up when you're set to throw one, like other potions do, and even if you throw it directly at an enemy, they're unaffected by it (other than maybe a point of damage from the impact)
To save people the time, you cannot pour these into alcohol barrels like the one in the goblin camp
No you cannot. The goblin barrel cannot accept much besides the intended ingredient. That's just how this game treats unique items. Thank you for your comment!
Whoa! Thank you kind soul!
How dour! I would had loved to see the goblins go berserk l
You don't actually have to drink them to see the effect. Instead hover over the item, use the inspection hotkey "T" and hover over the duration.
Thank you for commenting! Yes it is true all items can be further described within a window but there are many cinematics, animations, and reactions hidden behind the action. Never know until you try! Have a great new year!
Actually drinking the potions makes for good TV. =D
