I started cosmetology school in 1987 when I was pregnant with my second baby. Got about half way through (800 hours), and doctor said "Nope, off your feet", and I never finished. Life took me in a different direction and now I'm in the medical field, but I absolutely love your videos!!
I'm glad you enjoy! I thought about becoming a nurse for a hot min, but hair called my name! I did never imagine it would one day lead to me to uploading videos on the internet though! lol.
Many years ago I was a licensed cosmetologist but gave it up to make more money because…kids. I have learned so much watching your channel so thank you for that. I would pay whatever to have you cut my hair. I stopped going to local salons in my town because they aren’t as skilled or knowledgeable as you and if you get lucky to find a good one, they leave or the salon goes under and you’re back to square one. So I trim, I say that loosely lol, my own but it grows so fast now. I thought as I got older it wouldn’t do that but I was wrong. Ok I am chatty so will say thank you for the education you’re providing. I love it.
love your videos so much as someone who cuts their hair at home!!! i would love it if you'd post a haircut dedicated for curlier hair like 3b 3c type. thank u!!
Man that is always one I forget about, but you're so right! I LOVE their Polish and Reunite. Now you've got me adding it to my list next trip to the store!
Hi! I’ve watched several of your shows. I’d love, and appreciate, a video made for cutting really long hair. My hair is passing rib cage length. I did my best with my first time using a round brush and blow dryer and it was a mess 😂
I have a couple tutorials on longer hair mannequin. It's very hard to find mannequins with long hair, that also looks nice, that aren't extremely expensive. My favorite long hair one is at the $200 mark now 😶
Let's name the client May. )) Highly useful tutorial as always! Dear Summer, tell about yourself, your way in the profession, your interests etc. - it's so intresting to find out more about so talented, beautiful and nice person.
I have been using oil (one of those Loreal pump bottle) on my ends, apply when hair is damp and after styling again. Been super good. Recently I tried to include leave in conditioner in my routine, didn't seem to work out. My ends become solid and hard when I apply leave in conditioner when hair is damped, blow dry, apply oil to finish it off. Through out the day, my hair felt gross and crusty. Not sure why but leave in conditioner didn't work for me. Tried cream and spray version too, still didn't work. Any tips anyone?
Leave in shouldn't leave your ends solid and hard. Depending on how much product you were using, also as well as the oil(if overused) could leave the hair feeling weighed down and greasy. Depending on the state the hair is in one should need anywhere from 4 to 12 sprays. 4 for shorter or super healthy hair, 12 being for longer or extremely damaged hair. On my other channel Summer Beauty I have some videos that touch on this more.
I would describe it as long layers to add movement. The length that you would need removed is all personal preference. Face frame is long enough to be able to pull back.

I am so excited you are going to do a ponytail version of this cut! Will it be out soon?
Thank you since I’ve done my hair at home for years now! ❤
Awesome!
I love your videos, you remind me of a teacher I had who had to quit which made me sad. So I’m glad I got your videos 🥺🥰
Beautiful job, Summer! The point cutting makes a difference! 👏
It really does!
Love these videos, so informative! Leave in conditioner is the one product that helped my hair so much. My hair is very thick and incredibly dry
It's a game changing product for sure! What's your go to brand?
@StylesBySummer Another TH-camr and hairdresser @getglamfam recommended Giovanni ultra moisture leave in and so far I've been loving it

What a lovely name!
very helpful! Does this apply to all types of hair? (i.e. fine hair, curls, wavey, etc)
Yes!
Thank master❤❤❤❤❤
You are so pretty..love your new makeup color..so much better the the orange you had❤
Eww what a horrible delivery of a compliment. More like an insult. Shoo fly
@@angelaachee7933 she is pretty..I don’t like the orange blush she use to wear
Lol! Yes I have finally broken my 20yr long habit of over applying my blush/bronzer. It's still a daily struggle to fight the urge to pile more on 😂
To be fair this is a topic that plenty of people have commented on lol. For decades I've heard I wear too much blush/bronzer.
@@StylesBySummer you are beautiful with any color
Very good 😊
After this cut can we do ponytail on shoulder length hair, lil bit shorter than this mannequin
