Great, great video on how to set up the light gun. This will save anybody who gets them lots of time. I struggled with the turning on the camera part when I first got them. I also struggled getting the camera settings working correctly. I tried different settings on the actual monitor, and that did not work. I tried the contrast and brightness on the Sinden software, and it did not work. I changed it to a blue border which worked, but I did not like a blue border. I got it working in "dim display", but I just tried your Exposure setting. Bingo - perfection for my machine. Thanks.
Hoping all this feedback gets back to the Sinden team. They have a great product, the software interface could be simplified for a more streamlined setup for sure.
@@msmander87 Be sure to use your graphics card software to move the second monitor, windows doesn't make it pixel perfect which I've found can mess up the Sinden's ability to stay on one monitor.

Excellent video! Im surprised you had to adjust the exposure like that, mine was solid out of the box and I am in a much darker room I think...now I want to check what mine was set at...Definitely check out the mame bezel packs that have the border built in, it doesnt overlap the game and you dont have to bother turning them on/off. The sinden community has released bezels for sm2/3 also
Nice video. Do you have plexiglass over it? I have a gameroom solutions full cabinet with 32 inch tv in it. The bottom border with the bezel packs are pretty narrow compared to the sinden lightgun borders. Trying to see what others have done here or if you recommend something? Was thinking either I can find a way to rebuild the images from the sinden lightgun bezel packs or use smaller than a 32 inch tv so the bottom border is more exposed. I think the angle of the screen also plays a factor. Thoughts?
This is an excellent addition to any arcade cabinet! I would love to have one for my cabinet but I find it unfortunate that it costs almost as much as an Oculus Quest 2...
Thanks! I'm using BigBox for my front end. This is actually the default theme. The cool thing with bigbox is you can configure each "level" to be text based as a list, or "wheel" based like Hyperspin. So whatever style suits your fancy

The Sinden has a button on the right that's mapped to the "ALT - B" command which will bring up the border. Yes, thanks, I use those packs for a few of the emulators now, unfortunately Teknoparrot games are the most finicky. Have to run them in window mode for the most reliable consistency.

Yes, it does overlap some of the actual game screen. However you can select the border thickness and reduce it as much as you can so it's effect is greatly minimized. I leave it at "medium" for most MAME template overlays because I'm in a very bright and reflective room, but darker rooms can work very well with a very 3-4 pixel wide border. Tough call. The Sinden is more accurate than the Aimtracks, but that's if you have the right lighting conditions for the Sinden. The Aimtracks are easier to setup and configure the emulators, so that's the tradeoff.
That's "jitter." The gun is trying to calculate it's position at all times and it needs to see all lines of the border to do so. Try increasing the brightness of your monitor/display or increase the exposure on the light gun. I've found that helps with accuracy. Then on the gun calibration you can set the "jitter percentage". Start with 1% and increase it slowly until you see an acceptable reduction of the shakiness, but it's still following the movement of the gun to your satisfaction.
