There's a level of hell that is untouched here for you Ray. One of the creators you used a lot there is named Emily Leah. She used to be a big name in the anti multi-level marketing TH-camr sphere because she would point out that (rightly) MLMs prey on women by forcing them to buy untold amounts of products so they can make a commission of their 'business'. She who once told women not to buy too much stuff to feel valid is now... living in a beige hell of stuff. You truly do die a hero or live long enough to become the villain.
This reminds me of when a little kid I teach dance to asked me what BRAND my WATER BOTTLE was😭😭😭 She’s 11 and already thinks everything needs to have a trendy brand, and we’re 5 years apart I just showed her the normal plastic Great Value bottle and told her not everything needs to have a brand
I teach kids too, and they asked me why I hadn't replaced my old water bottle with a new one yet. I haven't had to buy a water bottle yet, I just clean and use the ones people forget. Many are branded steel bottles.

Why don’t u have more subs this genuinely upsets me you make such good content. I’ve always wanted to be a TH-camr but I realised how hard editing is and seeing videos this good makes me appreciate them so much more
You should try it anyway. If you do it for views it won't work but if you do it because the idea is appealing, try so. Maybe you will like it enough to continue or doing 1 or 2 videos will be enough. You don't have to show your face btw, look at the youtuber Dream
I miss the days when people thought for themselves and had common sense. Why does a TH-camr or anyone else need to tell you that 6 $50 cups tor one person is over doing it. Or that you're not supposed to go through life desperately trying to impress or show up other people or base your likes and dislikes on what your favorite TikToker recommends.

FRRRR!! all my friends have social media and follow trends like they’re the most important thing in the world, while I barely use youtube and don’t even care. I feel like I can breathe lol
My former friend would ridicule and roast me for accepting my uncles old car, a 2002 Ford. Like dude it's free and it already had a check up right before he handed to me. Look at him now, he crashed his new (bought by his parents) car into a pole and his parents refuse to help financially. It happened way back but it's only recently I got news from a mutual friend. Karma bro. To think there are people who need to consume this hard by keep buying new CARS every 2-4 years it's insane but they exist...
I love my 2002 Chevy impala. I heard some people can drive beyond the usual 250,000 miles if they take care of their cars. I am hoping for the same. :)
I love to organize things and I love organizational containers because I really struggle with object permanence. If I don't have my things on display, I forget they're there (and I don't exactly have a TON of stuff... my field of study just requires a lot of study material and books lol). But restocking content really irked me because I saw how much stuff people were "stocking" that they didn't really need. I quit watching all restocking content the moment I saw someone restock an entire drawer of CANDY. Overconsumption is such a crisis!
RIGHT?!! You're not an octopus; you can't slice open 8 freaking boxes at once! Do you host box-slicing opening parties or something?!! Do you frequently misplace tiny knives?! I'm bafflegasted. 😩
I think people who excessively overconsume in this way actually have wounding and fears around scarcity. Like my mom always has bulk snacks, toilet paper, cleaning supplies, etc. and I asked if she had a fear of running out of things. Since then she’s brought it up multiple times and expressed she is really afraid of not having enough to survive, even though my family doesn’t struggle for money. It stems to her childhood and how he parents raised her around money. I also think buying things can be a source of dopamine that people really cling to, despite the fact that there are other, healthier options.
My grandmother would never let me throw out expired stuff (you had to sneak it out gradually when she wasn't looking or pretend you wanted to use it) because of the depression. Though surprisingly 20 year old cleaning products are fine (except windex - it goes weird).
they're so incredibly not worth it. i've only ever tried them when like, a coworker brought them in to share or someone gifted them. and never have i been remotely interested in buying my own. i think i've had 2-3 crumbl coupons in my wallet for YEARS. they're so overpriced and just... not good.
Legit watched a video of someone who had 10 sweaters, titled “under-consumption”… like… the brain rot? the complete inability to grasp the meaning of “under”? insane.
What? I have about 10 sweaters... because I've bought them from thrift over many years. I have 7 pairs of jeans. Because I buy them over time. I have 40 shirts. Because I keep almost everything I'm given. Having 1p sweaters isn't a lot
I have a big one branded with one of my TCG companies and I use it in all seasons but summer to drink my 2L of tea each day 🤣 But like it was so expensive that even with that use I am like... Uhhh this one has to stick with me for 10+ years to be "worth it" 😂
I like big water bottles so I don’t have to worry about refilling it as often and I can stay hydrated. I still think the Stanley was stupidly overhyped
Dude you should be happy with your plants. They are tall, beautiful and are thriving. You can't expect them to keep growing indefinitely. You should totaly feel validated with such wonderful plants.
i was staring at those streets bc they looked insanely familiar. I search up the crumbl cookie and lo and behold it's actually the same city. who would have thought I lived this close to him wow
i think an interesting thing about the whole “wanting stuff to be aesthetic is shallow and bad” argument is that like. people by default like things that look nice. we like things that are pretty or fun or pleasing to the eye and that’s like extremely normal. and i feel like the modern world has often abandoned the concepts of like graphic design that’s meant to look good in favor of graphic design that’s meant to be insanely eye catching (and oftentimes ugly) on the store shelves. and in the past, cheap stuff was plain and boring, expensive fancy stuff was embellished. and we’ve flipped that completely to cheap stuff being embellished in a tacky, cheap way and expensive things being aesthetic and plain. no one wants their shower/kitchen to look like an advertisement with clashing colors and loud texts that reflect brands and drawing the eyes attention to them rather than the surrounding room that’s been decorated with the individuals personal wants. having things that are plain (not even pretty necessarily) is a privilege in this portion of hyper-advertising stage of capitalism. and if you can’t afford/don’t want to buy the products with packaging that assaults your eyeballs the next best thing is to find a cheap plain aesthetic package that diverts attention away from the product and allows the eye to focus on the room/actual decor that you’ve decorated your home in for your own pleasure, not just to look cookiecutter “good” and “aesthetic” for social media. it feels like the hyperunderconsumption core is oftentimes just trying to punish poor people for a) daring to engage in an inherently unsustainable capitalism system for things that aren’t basic needs and b) wanting to have a nice, pleasing space to live in by acting like any poor person who’s trying to curate their home in an affordable manner is just “over consuming” and trying to “copy the rich tik tok influencers they’re too poor to be like :(“ rather than realizing that poor people are people too and a lot of people naturally don’t LIKE to live in a place where they’re surrounded by things they don’t like looking at.
I have a container hoarding problem but the difference is i don't buy the containers, instead i keep the containers that cane with things i bought and end up a with a ton of containers that i don't need. Its like the moment i see an empty container my mind goes, oh that can be used to store something so then i keep it.
Even if I don't want to, I nowadays get those restock shorts on youtube and I decided to check couple of them. So much single use items and plastic galore! Also almost all of them have similar aesthetic or they "over do it" just for the sake of the video and it lowkey turns into rage bate. Literally they just show all of the things they have clearly gotten either for free / bought just because from amazon and hide the fact that it might be an AD. Like this is getting out of hand lol. (literally, some of them have sleeves so high up that it bothers people and idk is that done or purpose or not..)
Except it would still be better to have different colors for each person. I suspect that since that color is bland and boring, it was on sale. 6 cups for x-dollars.
@@markusgorelli5278this is actually the case in our house (not Stanleys but still water bottles) we got a bunch of bottles for cheap because they were a kind of ugly pale green color and we just put stickers on all of them to be able to tell them apart.
I store my food in clear containers in the pantry, but only because I don't want bugs to get into open containers- anything that comes sealed stays in it's original packaging.
It take some time, but if you want to have your stuff in jars instead of containers in which they came in, just keep the glass jars you get from products such as pickles, jam, etc. Eventually you will have a good collection of them. Yes they will be in different shapes but no additional money spent.
Hear me out about those drawer organizers, I am a disorganized person at times and things on my desk and bathroom counter can get really messy. I kept seeing shorts of people organizing their stuff with those containers and also using a counter shelf for their bathrooms to organize their things. I decided to buy some myself and it helped me greatly. It made my space look really clean. Though I am all for organizers making life a lot easier and cleaner, I think we should stop buying things that we don't need. I think having like five AirPods is too excessive. Or even buying too many iPhones every time a new one comes out. I also think that is too excessive. Having some organizers to organize their things, I think is a good investment since things tend to get hectic and all over the place but over buying things it not the way to go. That also includes under buying things because I can see that as becoming unhygenic and a potential health hazard if it's way too extreme. Just my thoughts on the matter.
It doesn't help if you are disorganized. People who buy those containers for that reason always end up being equally disorganized, but now with additional stuff in those containers, and everything else still on and around your counter. Those things only work for people who are the polar opposite; obsessively organized. Because you need to actually keep those things in order. It doesn't magically stay organized.
@@jbird4478 It worked for me because everything had its own place and I knew where to look when I need something. When things are all bunched up in my drawer, it’s hard to find things. Just in my experience, it has helped me a lot better than without the organized containers.
@@jbird4478 I understand that but for me, everything has its place. I usually lose things or they're just laying around on my desk or bathroom counter. Having those containers help me find things easier and give each thing a place off of the desk and bathroom. I guess it is all about upkeep and staying consistent to keep those items where you decide to put them in the first place.
I recall an organizational book recommend wait until you have downsized/decluttered to find out what you actually have already before purchasing storage. It does look like they are not only purchasing the storage but items for it in one swoop.
I get pantry weevils in my house but pesticides are strongly against my morals, so i NEED to repackage my food in containers to prevent it 🥺 also i kind of love the idea of fridge-scaping...

How we treat our stuff is a good measure of how we treat our people. Aww what a lovely place the "under consumer" has. It's like every item is cherished and has a history. That's a lucky well loved husband.

We only recently had IKEA opened near us so we can check it out, and I fell in love with a lot of organizers, and honestly a lot of the times they do provide a great benefit especially for people with big drawers and a lot of mess. I like sorting out my pencils and desk, sorting out my small shelf with arts supplies. I also bought containers for small food storage but use them quite rarely. and boy i'm so terrified of watching those "restock" videos. they scratch my "perfectionist" itch but when i realise how much money i'm looking at i feel so bad. also the amount of time required to refill and organize it is scary.
I validated myself by learning about Linux, before my 50s, no prior computing education. I am converting all 3 machines to Linux. I have refurbished my 15 yo ex Vista laptop, increased RAM, swapped hdd for ssd sata, cleaned of dust and repasted, installed Mint xfce and it is running like new, quietely. Win11 will run only from a gen2 usb if needed from a second hand compatible laptop I bought cheap 3 months ago to learn Linux. I am not going to send any of my functioning computers to the landfill where Microsoft wants them to go. Done with the corporate rip-off. I am proud of my humble achievement.
And that comes with realisation, that neither aura nor deleteme will protect my data, due to endless leaks from various databases. I don't need to pay to anyone telling my data is out there. I know it already. And I act like I am just about to be scammed or hacked: backing up data, moving carefully on internet and ignoring scam baiters. Only downloading stuff from trusted sources and vetting risky files in a sandbox via virustotal. Different email addresses for different purposes, or even different browsers for that matter. I like to make the recipes that have some packet cake mix subbed in place of some flour when I want that super soft cookie 😊
but hooowww will people satisfy their FOMO if it's not some kind of exclusive limited edition flavour??!
Genuinely helpful tip, thank you ❤
My friend used to work at a trendy bakery that treated their workers like shit, so I'm all for throwing off the shackles of corporate cookie dependence.
I’ll eat some blood cookies but crumbl is so expensive and not that good. I’m sure your local grocery store or baker or cafe has better big fat soft cookies. Also the atmosphere is like a sci-fi dystopian movie 😢
yess thank you. making cookies is so easy

I wonder what actual underconsumption would look like in the TikTok world-

And then all the stuff falls on their face when they take a sip… I guess that is what the straw was for? Also, how are there two different compartments within the mug??

I miss when the only core people would say was “hardcore” and they were usually talking about music.. a lot of these “cores” are aesthetics and lifestyles that already exist. I know trends and names change with time but this is getting ridiculous.
I misread that last part as "edit grandpa not dead" and it confused the life out of me.
Putting "core" after a word does not make it trendy. The level of sad does not change. In fact "core" makes it even more sad.

Because people consume and support that content like the braindead sheep that they are.
I was saying the same to my sister a few hours ago. People have really just stopped thinking for themselves. Really thinking For themselves. Sad.
i feel like the answer to all this is so so simple and we always take it as a joke but like… go outside.
as in delete ur social media for a month and see how your perspective changes on this stuff
FRRRR!! all my friends have social media and follow trends like they’re the most important thing in the world, while I barely use youtube and don’t even care.
A good reliable car is a good reliable car. That’s what matters. I myself have a 2007 Subaru. And she still runs reliably. That’s what matters
I love my 2002 Chevy impala. I heard some people can drive beyond the usual 250,000 miles if they take care of their cars. I am hoping for the same. :)

STOP I COMMENTED THE SAME THING 😭😭😭
I love to organize things and I love organizational containers because I really struggle with object permanence. If I don't have my things on display, I forget they're there (and I don't exactly have a TON of stuff... my field of study just requires a lot of study material and books lol). But restocking content really irked me because I saw how much stuff people were "stocking" that they didn't really need. I quit watching all restocking content the moment I saw someone restock an entire drawer of CANDY. Overconsumption is such a crisis!
Didn't restocking start with bathrooms and pantries? How did it get this far?
8:14 WHY WOULD THEY NEED THAT MANY PACKAGE KNIFE THING

I refuse to download TikTok for a myriad of reasons- this is one of them
i was staring at those streets bc they looked insanely familiar.
0:52 take my money- 💵
don’t be fooled like I was, there is no course in the bio
I have a container hoarding problem but the difference is i don't buy the containers, instead i keep the containers that cane with things i bought and end up a with a ton of containers that i don't need. Its like the moment i see an empty container my mind goes, oh that can be used to store something so then i keep it.

Another masterpiece as always. (Im still watching the starter ads)
See id only see having 6 stanleys as okay if it was like one for each person aka 6 people owned one each in the same house oml

@@hannah1824_h yeah! That too!!! One person having that many stanleys is just ridiculous!

@markusgorelli5278 Exactly!!! Like?? I dont think theres an added tax on having colors in your house!!!
@@markusgorelli5278this is actually the case in our house (not Stanleys but still water bottles) we got a bunch of bottles for cheap because they were a kind of ugly pale green color and we just put stickers on all of them to be able to tell them apart.
11:20 is not a cookie, that's a cake
I store my food in clear containers in the pantry, but only because I don't want bugs to get into open containers- anything that comes sealed stays in it's original packaging.
It take some time, but if you want to have your stuff in jars instead of containers in which they came in, just keep the glass jars you get from products such as pickles, jam, etc. Eventually you will have a good collection of them. Yes they will be in different shapes but no additional money spent.
We use them for glasses to drink out of too!
Hear me out about those drawer organizers,
I am a disorganized person at times and things on my desk and bathroom counter can get really messy.
It does look like they are not only purchasing the storage but items for it in one swoop.
imo the crumbl videos cant even be called mukbangs, theyre literally cookie hauls

No youtube sponsor ever convinced me I needed them.
