    Hey Tab, always enjoy watching your videos. Is your TC working correctly or are you switching it off? It just seems like its spinning up the wheels that lift too easily and not figuring out quickly enough where to send the power. My Gen 4 also only has TC but I've found TC super effective in exactly this type of driving (best with slow and progressive throttle inputs). Sand not so much and I'd rather turn it off there. Maybe the ruts are just a lot bigger and the lack of traction all round makes it tough for the TC to decide where to send it. Cheers

    • @TabVentures
      @TabVentures  3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Hey Jean, appreciate the feedback. There was a couple of times i turned the TC off for a bit of a play. The TC is always pretty good when used correctly.. And you are right on the money.. the Paj is best driven slow through uneven obstacles (most of the time) to allow max contact with wheels on the ground and TC to do its thing. i drove the car differently this trip (purely for something different) i didnt air down the tyre(as you will see more evidence of that in the part 2) and also drove it in 2H or 4H. didnt go down to low range. 👍👍

    It's strange that some pajero (4th gen.) have better traction control than other pajero (4th gen.) from other videos I've seen. I have seen traction control working really well, even at a steep incline and 2 wheels off the ground from the front and rear but yours is not working really well or maybe that's the way it is. I don't know why it's like that but maybe it depends where it was built. I think the newer ones from 2015-present have better traction control but I may be wrong.

    • @TabVentures
      @TabVentures  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hey Art, the TC on this gen 4 has always been reliable. I do find it is up to the driver and the way the car is driven. This trip i drove the car much more different to what i have in the past (maybe a review/comparison video on that is warranted). This time i've mainly stayed in 4H and didnt not air down.. which contributed to the tyres slipping etc. The Raprot with its Flex... also didnt air down, but his rear left tyre did have a slow leak which you will notice in some clips it is lower than the other wheels, that would have worked in its favour.

    Man thats not how you drive a TC equipped vehicle. I cringed every time I was hearing 'need more momentum'. What was needed in most, but not all cases, was less momentum and less throttle. TC does not really work well/at all over anything but a crawl. Just go at a slow walking pace into the wombat holes and add a little throttle if needed when wheels start to slip and dont back off too soon as sometimes it does take 3 or 4 seconds to figure it out. Do that and it would go through 90% of that stuff real easy. Also with the added benefit of not risking snapping a CV.

      Absolutely agree with the above .. however i didnt air down for this trip to see how the paj would go. Doing so creates alot more wheel slip - and driving style becomes different. TC on the Paj is one of its biggest strength on climbs.. (weakness in sand).

    Kinda poor comparison, as the POS Ford has a rear locker which makes a world of difference.

    So sad the American Paj has the stupid TC system, and not a real rear locker like the EU one.
