Wasting a player's time on purpose is NOT a good punishment for death. Your punishment is already having to restart the boss fight, losing a rune/ember/humanity (if active) and potentially losing your souls. It's not like the run backs are even difficult for the most part, they literally only exist to pad out time. I've also seen people hilariously claim that wasting time is necessary to encourage you to "get better", which is absolutely mind-boggling. Are you actually not actively trying to get better if the game isn't wasting your time? You seriously need that? Sit back down and stop pretending Miyazaki's games are flawless masterpieces where everything is calculated and masterfully designed. FromSoftware fans really try their damn hardest to make everyone else ashamed to be a fan of their games.
@@astraelys If you claim that 1 is your favorite, then you know for a mid-casual player, some run backs does make it harder, Quelag for example, the chances of you getting poisoned and hit in the way are high, making it more difficult to kill the boss, O&S as well, not mattering if you are respawning in solaire room or the fire keepers bonfire, there will be enemies in the way ready to make you chug if you don’t pay attention. Im not saying the run backs make the game a masterpiece, just make the game harder and thats the whole point of the thing, a game that is design for you to die over and over already make you waste your time there, if you don’t minimally git gud, there will be bosses that they will make the skill check and make you die allot to them, So make you waste more time going back to the boss and leaving you open to get hit in the way, is the culmination of frustration, you are already hot headed bc the boss keep killing you and you don’t paying attention and lose HP to a enemy, you get even more mad after that, having to reset and start over. Oh man..... This was. By far. The most. ANNOYING. Runeback. Of all the game. I truly despise than runeback more than anything, from the dragon sentien grace site to use an elevator, going through ennemies trying to not get hurt, going into a put with a chance of falling off, then go lie down arround the bricks for a cinematic to then run straight to the boss may take 1m30-2m when you're fast. Completely useless and a waste of time for no reason at all. Especially with the fact that his laser beam was the reason i died each time cause it one shot me.
It would be kinda cool if we knocked it off in the first phase, but she has it in the second to show even more that this is Ranni's illusion. Then we come back to her with her hair down. I honestly like both looks

@@avaluggglazer445 I think the academy is more so about getting through her trap filled labyrinth more so than the actual bossfight itself, it’s not a hard one by any means if you’re the explorative type, you discover a woman gone mad and you have to kill her (I know she doesn’t really die) but not before you get through this set of arduous traps. Also letting her hair down is kind of missing the point, no matter how goofy some people think the hat looks it’s a symbol of her authority in the academy and in the world, she is the queen of the moon and the crescent helmet represents that, she’s not supposed to be some witch, she’s supposed to be a fallen queen and mother.
I don't think the grace outside is necessary because Rennala is one of the easier bosses in the game. I haven't seen if this is the case with this mod, but placidusax should have had a grace near it.
im embarrassed to say that my first character (the one i played on my counsin's pc) never managed to beat her, probably die like 20+ times. Though the character i made after getting the game myself beat her first try, probably because i had a physical build instead of magic this time

Especially if you throw in a spirit ash like Oleg or Tiche who just absorb aggro and don’t die too easily due to Oleg being a walking piece of ballistic jelly and Tiche playing dodgeball with grenades

I like Rennala a lot. Her cutscenes give her a lot of personality in a game where you have to read between the lines for most characters. Before the fight she’s calling the egg before giving you the meanest side eye I’ve ever seen lol second phase is in a beautiful location, and she also gives you a mean staredown after her hypeman gasses her up to whoop your ass lol

That’s just the convergence mod lol The main mod I play is Carian combo warriors, which turns the game into dmc(or monster hunter with the twinblade) Also I add always ng+7 mod cause CCW does make the game a bit too easy, being a hack n slash moveset in a non hack-n-slash game CCW and Always Ng+7 Maliketh and malenia go hard lol Although Fights against invaders/npcs….. CCW makes npcs scary cause they get access to all the same movesets you do So fists, katanas, curved greatswords, spears, straight swords, and collosal weapon npcs all get scarier Like moongrum Moongrum is a nightmare

Removes elegant magic wolf fight that works like a dance with a clumsy troll that stands around, is too big for the boss-room and gets killed anticlimatically. Removes Rennala's crescent crown that harkens back to Sumerian god/priest-king headpieces, informing audience that Rennala is not only a queen, but a divine link with the Moon as Carian royal. Also, without her iconic crown, she is 100% more generic and forgettable. Inserts grace next to the library of Raya Lucaria, removing the need to parkour with the ball and engage with the shortcut, player suffering absolutely no penalty for dying. Raya Lucaria as a dungeon is designed to challenge players with run-ups to the bosses, as both wolf and Rennala have somewhat challenging journeys to the fog-gate with no save spots. Way to throw designer intent out the door.

They really need to get into what will happen after ranni removes the tree, her mother can finally use the egg. It’s supposed to be a child born from the love she really felt for someone she believed to be her husband. I think at one point even Radagon begins to converge away from marika and her insanity. But with marika gone renella can finally use her true powers and actually give birth to the child of the stars.

I mean, the grace isn't even that far. And once you clear up the way, it's pretty safe and straightforward. Aaaaand, it's Rennala, cmon people, you don’t die to her more than once in the worst case.
I prefer the grace to be inside the room. Only reason I go there is to rebirth and now I do have to run back and forth like you said you don't have to.
Nice changes and fun additional encounter. Although I do not have issues with how it is in the base game. Nevertheless, I'm getting the idea that not everyone is aware of the things you can do to make the run back near risk-free. If you clear out the top of the ball spawning tower, the ball will no longer spawn + Moongrum only has to he defeated once. So the runback is maybe a little bit of a hike, though it is as good as risk-free. Additionally, there is another shortcut, though it contains a bunce of enemies on the way. Finally, my opinion is that Rennala is a fun and, I dare say, rather easy boss fight. Hence, I don't have much problem with this boss or the run back to it.
The run back honestly wasnt bad when conpared to the run back of the red haired wof before this, atleaste you only have to best the knight 1 time and your good. I have done this damn fight about 50 times in the last week and still cant get past phase 2 half way point.
I definitely prefer her original look with the hat. Without the high point her model looks unbalanced and distorted due to her long limbs and small head. It also makes her look more dignified and put together.
I feel like her design should've been with her hair down as it would further added to her being distraught after Radagon left her side. Then in the 2nd phase she would have it on to represent what she would've looked like at her prime

@@Thiccness_Is_Deliciousor you could have fun with the mods people put a lot of time into after completing the game because there’s nothing wrong with using mods and most people install mods after completing the game anyways, and you can’t go online with mods so you only affect yourself(and anyone else you play with using seamless co-op)

The convergence mod is actually pretty fun
Adds a bunch of spells/incants that are actually pretty fun to play with
I played around with ancestral/“mystic” spells which were fun
Basically magic and sleep based, one of the spells is like a diet infant head that lingers longer
And one of the spells is bewitch, basically just a spell version of bewitching branch
I know lava sorceries also have more now
I already like lava sorceries in the base game so I might actually play the volcanist once I start using mods again.
That’s just the convergence mod lol
The main mod I play is Carian combo warriors, which turns the game into dmc(or monster hunter with the twinblade)
Also I add always ng+7 mod cause CCW does make the game a bit too easy, being a hack n slash moveset in a non hack-n-slash game
CCW and Always Ng+7 Maliketh and malenia go hard lol
Although
Fights against invaders/npcs….. CCW makes npcs scary cause they get access to all the same movesets you do
So fists, katanas, curved greatswords, spears, straight swords, and collosal weapon npcs all get scarier

Removes elegant magic wolf fight that works like a dance with a clumsy troll that stands around, is too big for the boss-room and gets killed anticlimatically.
Removes Rennala's crescent crown that harkens back to Sumerian god/priest-king headpieces, informing audience that Rennala is not only a queen, but a divine link with the Moon as Carian royal. Also, without her iconic crown, she is 100% more generic and forgettable.
Inserts grace next to the library of Raya Lucaria, removing the need to parkour with the ball and engage with the shortcut, player suffering absolutely no penalty for dying. Raya Lucaria as a dungeon is designed to challenge players with run-ups to the bosses, as both wolf and Rennala have somewhat challenging journeys to the fog-gate with no save spots.
Way to throw designer intent out the door.

Just run up the right side of the stairs and you will never get hit by the ball and then you wait for a fucking elevator 😂
Oh and not to mention if you kill the wizards and pumpkin head, it’s only waiting for an elevator every time

Also the “shortcut” is longer than going up the easy stairs and takes you past enemies, the only reasons to go that direction at all are the items on the roofs

I can't believe that Elden Ring has a Boss called "Bols" hahahaha lol. imagine he having a special attacks like ball of the wisdom or ball sucker.
They really need to get into what will happen after ranni removes the tree, her mother can finally use the egg. It’s supposed to be a child born from the love she really felt for someone she believed to be her husband. I think at one point even Radagon begins to converge away from marika and her insanity. But with marika gone renella can finally use her true powers and actually give birth to the child of the stars.

I mean, the grace isn't even that far. And once you clear up the way, it's pretty safe and straightforward. Aaaaand, it's Rennala, cmon people, you don’t die to her more than once in the worst case.

I prefer the grace to be inside the room. Only reason I go there is to rebirth and now I do have to run back and forth like you said you don't have to.
I know run backs ain't the favorite part for everyone but cmon now, the run back to Rennala ain't even half bad lol
Nice changes and fun additional encounter. Although I do not have issues with how it is in the base game. Nevertheless, I'm getting the idea that not everyone is aware of the things you can do to make the run back near risk-free.
If you clear out the top of the ball spawning tower, the ball will no longer spawn + Moongrum only has to he defeated once. So the runback is maybe a little bit of a hike, though it is as good as risk-free. Additionally, there is another shortcut, though it contains a bunce of enemies on the way.
Finally, my opinion is that Rennala is a fun and, I dare say, rather easy boss fight. Hence, I don't have much problem with this boss or the run back to it.
It's FromSoft tradition to give casters the most ridiculous and anti-fashion headwear.

The run back honestly wasnt bad when conpared to the run back of the red haired wof before this, atleaste you only have to best the knight 1 time and your good. I have done this damn fight about 50 times in the last week and still cant get past phase 2 half way point.
I definitely prefer her original look with the hat. Without the high point her model looks unbalanced and distorted due to her long limbs and small head. It also makes her look more dignified and put together.

I feel like her design should've been with her hair down as it would further added to her being distraught after Radagon left her side. Then in the 2nd phase she would have it on to represent what she would've looked like at her prime
I prefer the Wolf fight to just the Carian Giant. The Wolf has connection to Radagon.
