Luffy beat Lucci so badly in Enies Lobby that it completely changed his life. I think a part of him admires the way that Luffy is. He had to learn to put trust in his comrades more like the Straw Hats (they raised money for his medical bills in the cover stories) and he also refused to fall even after being beaten by Zoro (similar to how Gear 2 Luffy refused to fall to him until he defeated him and Robin was safe).

glad to hear you agree with the theory of factional splitting in the Marines over the WG (which vegapunks message will be the catalyst for). This could also be what Kizaru is building toward right now in egghead Island, to betray the WG once the truth becomes unavoidable. Sword is already non-aligned with the WG and marines and is a clandestine operation which will certainly oppose the WG. Smoker is the most important though

a random thought with all the animal tie ins, when you brought up vegapunk, you said whiskers for feline traits but what about a mouse, like the counterpart to Tom (Tom&Jerry) it initially made me think of Captain Nezumi (forgotten side character) that had mouselike features and was in the marines, anyways my question or speculation about this is where does a mouse fall into this? would they be more like a dog where they follow mindlessly, or a cat who opposes? the fish/cats/dog makes complete sense to me with how it ties into the characters morals/perspective in the current story. anyways love the content and how in depth/forward thinking these analyses are. major love for this channel and the discussion/questions it brings about. what a time to be a One Piece fan, videos like these just reignites your love for the series
in the videogame "Dark Souls", the character "Seathe the Scaleless" was a dragon that betrayed his own kin, the "Everlasting Dragons". i dont know the exact details of the betrayal, but i got the impression that Seathe told the humans who were at war with the Dragons that the way to defeat them was to peel off their scales of imortality using "Lightning". During Luffys' fight with Kaido, there is a panel showing Luffy wield lightning like a sword. I agree with your lightning theory.

Thanks for letting us know the meanings behind certain names in Japanese, lots of translations don't include their exact English name translation! It helps a LOT with theories. With that being said, Vivi being symbolized with a Catfish and a Dove makes perfect sense. The Dove is a symbol of Peace and Vivi wanted the fighting to stop. Vivi catfished Baroque Works by going undercover. She falls under all three animal symbolisms: A Fish for being a Celestial Dragon, but a Cat for the Nefertari family opposing the Celestial Dragon's ways by not going to Mariejois, and A Bird for wanting to be a peaceful diplomat in between Pirates and the WG.
Nami might be the daughter of an important Celestial Dragon and an inhabitant of a sky island that is similar to Weatheria. Thus her affinity to weather stuff like when she skillfuly used the motorcycle on Skypie. This might lead to her as a key factor in controlling the motherflame, or what ever imu used in lulusia since it may be a weather related weapon. Like Enels Mamaragan
A theory I’ve had for a long time and one that I haven’t heard of before is that Shanks “betrayed’ Roger and handed him to the WG. This was a plan with Roger to get Shanks close to the 5 elders and the beginning of building that trust. I believe it may be connected to what Roger whispered to Shanks which was hidden from us. It doesn’t make sense for him to have close ties to the WG just because of bloodline because we saw with Doflamingo that he couldn’t return. So more has to be done to be given that close tie with them. Most recently we’ve seen York betray Vegapunk in order to gain that closeness to the five elders and CD which seems to be so far working. Betrayal is an interesting theme to analyze in the series, perhaps some inspiration for you :)
