  • The journey of continuous improvement (Kaizen) has lead my family down a deliberate path of growth, evolution, and discovery. My fiancé and I have been able to break our life into 90 day goal driven periods that put us front and center with each other and our family. With a specific 3 day agenda we share discovery and growth together setting up the next 90 days for success.
An IT guy with a heart for all things ef cient and organized. Mike has become a LEAN thinker and through the principles of Kaizen his company explores delivering IT services to our customers.
He is active in the community and with business development from chairing the board of the local Chamber of Commerce to teaching the principles of LEAN to local business owners and entrepreneurs. Total Solutions has been a local employer for 18 years. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Sounds like a great plan for two wealthy people. I don't think there's any possible way that me and my husband could do something like this every 90 days. I do really love the idea of goal-setting together and I think we could be successful doing that from our living room. We do date night in our own town about once a week.

Do an intro to six sigma if not already familiar. Many tools for practical improvement across a business, with many threads of further development for TQM. I feel like this talk was raised a little to far from subject matter to be articulated to this specific audience.

I did this for years. What it mostly has done is make all my bosses lay the bulk of other people's job on me for relatively the same play as the incompetent collegues. And when I went solo and tried hiring helpers, surprise! Tons of deadbeats and the professionals are hired by others for months ahead.

    • @SSchithFoo

because of words "At Home" in the title of the video. There are people out there who does not want anything what demands something to do what could make impact to their lives, they want a magic pill. So words "At home"- not the best way to market an idea.

Your just figuring this out now? All my life I planned goals, and priorities, and people were always stunned that I was so far in thinking, and getting things done way ahead of them. I didn't need kaizen to deal with what I found was necessary, and obvious to me.

How would you do it instead? Can you please upload a similarly helpful video with your solution to add even more to the world? Right now it's looks like you're just a whiny dude (or lady) who has no idea how to implement this system and you're hoping you can distract and keep others from succeeding where you seem to be failing. I'm sure that's not the case. You certainly wouldn't come rollin' in nay-saying someone else's solution without having one of your own. Can you please tag me when you've uploaded yours so we can see what a "real easy, simple, correct tool" looks like? I look forward to learning how to mimic my own success after your own...

Thank you for your take on my critical faculties. However, I am right on board with the message, despite your sarcasm.
If I go to a health professional (doctor/practice nurse/dietician looking for advice on weight loss, how much credence would I give that advice when the 'expert' sitting opposite me weight 20 stone?
My point is, and that of the previous commentator is that the message gets vastly diluted when a massive aspect of health is clearly not being addressed.

Mitch Holder Not superficialat all. True, he doesn’t have to lose a ton of weight, but looking healthy, wearing casual business clothes, shaving a bit goes a long way towards building a better image and brand that people buy into.
