When I got my 2011 f250 truck it had a broken passenger side mirror glass and mirror cap. I tested all the electronic mechanics of the mirror and it was functional. All I needed to do was find new glass and a chrome cap. I purchased the glass and cap here:
    HEATED driver: amzn.to/2NtUSSG
    HEATED passenger: amzn.to/2udSZkf
    NON heated passenger: amzn.to/2zdRRTs
    NON heated Driver: amzn.to/2zjOw5o
The mirror glass is BURCO brand. So far its functioning as good as OEM. Leave a comment if you have a tip on how better to change the glass!

Going from memory there is a pry spot you can access through the bottom of the mirror where a flat blade screwdriver will fit. you tilt the mirror glass as far up as possible and insert the screwdriver and gently twist. A flashlight may help. Its been a year since I did it and I don't remember exactly. Next time I fix one Ill do a more in depth video. Hope this helps! Good luck with your repairs!

I have a 2014 F350. Used Burco Heated glass as well. Does it matter how you plug in the heating element? I dont know which is positive and which is negative on the new glass.

Hey Rick, wish I knew the answer. Is there a retention clip on the plug?

Rick, It does not matter how you plug them in as they are non-polarized. Good luck!

This might be a dumb question, but how do you pop out or take out the mirror from the housing?

This was a looong time ago but if memory serves me you can adjust the mirror fully one way and access little slots with a flat screwdriver and disengage the tabs.
      *I think*

How big is that mirror? Because I️ have aftermarket 2011 and up tow mirrors on my 2002 and I️ got one and it was too big. How do I find the right size?

Or are the 2008 mirrors smaller than the 2011’s? Should I order a 2008 instead of a 2011?

I think that 2011 was the first year of the body style change. 2008 is different. Hope that helps!

The plastic frame has tabs that hold it to the pivot plate. They should snap out. If they break off you could use some double sided tape to hold the piece in place when reassembling. The mirror glass is attached with adhesive to the plastic frame. Once the assembly is off the truck just push the mirror out from the backside.

You see the gray plate ... those two holes in it are where the tabs of the mirror backing plate go in and hold the mirror assembly in. Its best to pry at the top of the mirror because thats where the base that holds the mirror is thickest and less likely to break when being pryed.

NO NO NO NO NO this NOT how you do it ! You'll risk breaking the pivot motor assembly if you pry you mirror out from the sides ! Then you're into MORE MONEY! ! Straight up. For Starters: PUT ON SAFETY GLASSES BY ALL MEANS HERE ! ! What you do is use a spring loaded push punch that you use to put a dimple in some material (metal, plastic, wood) before you start to drill into that material so the bit doesn't wander. That Tool ! Push the push-punch in the middle of the broken mirror to break a hole big enough to start using needle nose pliers to make the hole bigger and bigger from the center out. You want to make that hole big enough to be able to see the 2 spots left and right where the mirror glass tabs snap into the pivot motor's pivot disk. If the mirror is heated no big deal. Just use dikes if you have to, to get through that ribbon type heating element. It's at that point you can get a small flat-blade screwdriver in between the mirror glass and the pivot motor's pivot disk right next to the place where the mirror glass tab goes into the pivot disk. That's where the mirror glass connects to the pivot motor disk. Get it in between the two and rotate the flat-blade screwdriver to separate the two. It will separate with a POP ! If the mirror is a heated mirror disconnect the wire connector and throw that mirror away. Lube up the 2 little posts on the mirror glass before snapping it in will make it easier and less likely of having to press too hard to snap it in. Connect your new mirror's wire 1st (if heated) and then press your new mirror glass in carefully. DONESKI
