2021 iMac: extremely thin, with motherboard taking less than 15% of the chassis.
      MKBHD: poor use of space

Are we going to get a construction video of the cube/M1 frankenmac? Would love to see it, in all it's glory.

So old the CPU is separate from the Logic board and Apple was using an IBM HDD. Boy, have times changed. Imagine 20 years from now when we hear “in 2020, they had their M1 chip and SSD separate. They were still using SSD’s back then!” 😳

So crazy watching this interior now after watching the new iMac being pretty much an empty box with a computer on its bottom 15%

Thanks for video. Removed the mainboard today and instantly found out why it wasn't powering on. Massive scorch marks on the underside of the power connecter. Probably someone used a faulty power supply in the past.

Hi, nice video, thank you for sharing. I also own a mac cube, but during the last teardown I got confused.
I have a problem with the screws that secure the handle that allows you to pull the mac out of the case.
There are 4 screws, 2 on each side of the handle, the 2 screws on left side are under the hard disk and airport cable, the 2 screws on right side are easily accessible.
My questions: are the 2 screws on the right side different from 2 on the left side, or are the 2 screws on each side different?
4 identical screw or, two pairs of screws?
    thank you very much.
    Sorry for my English.

Can you tell me how to detach the acrylic itself? Is it friction fit or glue?

Literally, teardown :) Nicely done though, look like nothing has been bent or cracked.

The G4 Cube is a beautiful computer, but ultimately, the way it fails is you only have FireWire 400, made obsolete when FireWire 800 came along. So upgrading to an M1 chip is awesome, but ultimately, peripherals are where this machine really needs a refresh. 💁🏻‍♂️
