I'm so happy to hear you say to use facial cleanser as a handsoap! I've been doing this to get rid of all the cleansers I didn't like for my face😉It goes well in most soap pumps😁 (retired X-ray tech. Whose hands took a beating) Have a beautiful Christmas 🎄 ❤️💚

I've been using vaseline on my lips since I was very little. My siblings used to make fun of me but my lips would get so dry they'd crack and bleed during the night. I was glad to find out I've been doing good for my lips all these years (and rarely have an issue with my lips anymore)

For Southern California, the worst winter weather comes in the form of Santa Ana winds, which usually show up a day or two after rain. So my rosacea-moody face goes from too humid, with sinuses that run - which gives me a red nose - to desert dryness and weeping eyes from dust blowing. I try to address skin care on the assumption that things will soon return to "normalish," and I try not to make big changes from season to season. Always a mineral-only SPF 50 on the face and neck; always a mild, non-fragranced cleanser and moisturizing routine. One thing that helps with hard water's effects on my face is a spritzing of distilled water on my face after washing and gently blotting with a smooth soft towel. Non-fragranced laundry soap and NO fabric softener on the towels! Thanks for your info, and Happy Whatever You Celebrate, Dr. Dray!

When I was using tret and would wash my face with ultra gentle cleanser my skin felt dry, once I stopped using actives and let my skin heal I realized it’s a great simple cleanser & LRP Lipikar+ moisturizer are my winter favs. ❤

I got Cerave Healing Ointment purely after listening to you, like 2 years ago, and it is saving my bacon, I mean my lips, this winter! I also love the Vaseline everywhere balm stick, as a runner it really helps with chafing and it also works really well to prevent rough skin on my feet when I apply it before socks. For hands, if you have a Lidl store in your area, they have a hand cream called "SOS" that is thick, rich in humectants, and fragrance-free. And it's like 3 bucks.

Thank you Dr. Dray for sharing :) I'm a fan of the Neutrogena skin care products - a few of the products that you mentioned I've tried and I'm happy using them 🥰 My skin is very sensitive with Rosacea, I don't like trying new products that may cause an irritation. I use fragrance free products including my laundry soap, without any dryer sheets. The scent of most fragranced products aggravate my allergies . Take care everyone 🌹

Thank you thank you thank you Dr. Dray. My rosacea def flaring due to heat being on more and cold, windy conditions outside when raking leaves, etc I usually keep my heat at 50 degrees at night and open my bedroom window cuz I like it very cool when sleeping. I stayed overnight at relatives who keep their heat set at - I kid you not - 84 degrees day and night. OMG I was ddyyyyinnng.
For those of you new to Dr. Dray, please try all these things she is advising. You will be so happy you did. The hardest one for me was giving up long, hot baths & showers cuz it felt soothing/pampering/relaxing. But now that I'm used to shorter, lukewarm showers, the benefits to my skin are totally worth it. And gloves for wet work? 1000x yes. Truly a game changer - my hands & cuticles used to be chapped, cracked and bleeding all winter. You're the BEST, Dr. Dray!

Great timing as always 🥰We’re about to hit the worst part of winter where I live. Hardly any daylight, ice, winds, and hardly any humidity at all. My heels and fingers crack instantly and I can’t go through the rich creams and vaseline fast enough. So ready for this to be over but spring won’t be here until April.

Great video I made my husband listen with me because he has some great skin issues. He is 50 and suffers from rosacea, dry and oily skin in certain areas, acne flare-ups and is exposed to every type of weather we live in PA and he is a state Forester outside all the time he is exposed to Sun quite frequently and has become very sunscreen dependent! After a skin cancer scare he is very compliant with his skin regimen and sunscreen. I use your videos to change his mind about a lot of his skin care practices including sunscreen and how much heat he uses and consumes in vehicles. When you're in a vehicle the heat is blowing straight on your face

If I didn’t love chicago like I do, I’d try to move somewhere without this winter we have here. I use a full spectrum light and cool mist humidifier, and those help a lot. I’ve also developed a soothing skincare routine to do while I’m lounging in the light. It’s almost a personal spa time.

It's super cold here pretty windy i would say but since we are at a lower altitude snow is not much of a issue but freezing temperatures that affect our fields that have orange and tangerine trees. Excellent tips and in places we often neglect such as our hands and lips. I now it's cold but now i use lukewarm water and im pretty good and happy with it and i adore that soak and slather technique and makes the skin look and feel pretty content and super hydrated 😊❤. I also don't want to be bothered by shoveling snow and stuff but i confess snow is pretty awesome as a sight (snowman and angels ❤). Thanks for the winter tips Doctor Andrea and stay warm and cozy 😊.

I use tret, moisturizer, spf w/ reapply. I have been thinking about adding in adapalene, I have no acne and have not had a breakout of any kind in years so thinking just may stick with tret!

So far as humidity is concerned in one place we live, the dry time is summer and the humid time is winter (high desert). In the other place, it’s a pretty steady moderate humidity. So, I have two sets of moisturizers. I’ll be glad to permanently move to the former so that I don’t need so many products.
Where we are right now, the water isn’t just hard but heavily chlorinated. It plays havoc on my skin. Luckily, the other house has great water. I can hardly wait to move.

Only of you re directly sitting by the window for a prolonged period of time and there is some sun, or snow.
Otherwise wearing sunscreen indoors is not doing much.

Ok so last week I got Sunday Riley good genes on my lips while I was using it on my face (I rub in a good amount and let sit for 15-20 minutes anything more irritates my skin for days) and after washing it off my face I did my daily routine which includes the inky list lip peptides and vaseline at the end and omg my lips looked plump like they did in my 20's.. do you think this would be a bad thing to incorporate like maybe monthly?? Because girl, this is something I need to do now 🤣🤣

I have a rare allergy to petroleum. I found this out after getting CO2 laser and having an extreme reaction anytime I would reapply petroleum. Any other suggestions for a good moisturizer that’s similar?

Lanolin, some people have allergies to it as well, but if you don't and aren't adverse to using animal products, it's superior in every way over petroleum jelly.

Can acid reflux cause a rosacea flare?

Pubmed probably has an article on that.

    • @Lilah1754
      @Lilah1754 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

Could cause it, as excess histamine can be a culprit in reflux, as it can be in rosacea also. That’s why H2Blockers ( histamine antagonists) like Pepcid can help with reflux. PPI’s used to also treat reflux, like Prilosec, can cause rosacea, when used long term. They can upset your intestional micro biome, & also cause SIBO. Best to discus with your Dr.
