I do too don't get me wrong but this is on a completely different level in my opinion of course. When listening to the story in this format, it makes you feel more invested in the story or at least for me. I hope they do this for the Hour Of Devastation!
it's sometimes hard to find the actual stories on the AetherHub, since a lot of different content get's mixed in and the titles don't have an indication of the content as good as here. Also the quality here is much higher and it contains the full story, not just a summery. I would prefer pure narration, possibly with different voices for different characters and maybe with a soundtrack in the background to convey the mood. Not so many sound effects, but that is my own prefference.
It's a shame that, much like Saheeli, Arlinn ended up doing nothing major in the story. Hopefully the new model with less focus on the Gatewatch will make things like that not happen anymore.
i wonder are they gonna have bolas kill off the gatewatch in hours, if not, seal them away like the scorpion, locust, and scarab god until we return to amonkhet?
Yeah, but Saheeli was AROUND more. Arlinn had her own story, one cameo, and then she wasn't mentioned by name again. Saheeli didn't get focus, but she was name dropped, every what? Third story in Kaladesh and Aether Revolt?
when i saw a pop-up for a lore video at your channel, i was a bit confused. i thought that it was a mistake that TH-cam send me a wrong message. but this infinitly more and better than i thought to find wen i went to check it out. this is what i wanted from the rich lore and settings of mtg. i love the lore but don't have the time with school and and internships at the same time, to read the lore. but i travel alot by bike and by foot, so this is perfect. please, i would love to see/hear more of this. and i will go to the website. thanks for this and every other video you have made that help me play and learn magic. with kind regards, a fan from the Nederland
I loved Arlinn's plotline and wished she'd gotten a bigger role in the story. SOI was one of the few blocks with virtually no filler stories, because there was just so much going on. As a result, nobody got enough screentime. It's nice to see the stories we ~did~ get getting some love and recognition.
i absolutely loved this. narration was spot on and kept me engaged. I wanted to see the tale to the end and hear the story. I hope there will be more of these to come in the future.
I loved it, cannot think of a better way to catch up on the MTG lore from the 10 odd years Ive been away from the game. Thank you all for a wonderful experience!
I ended up watching the whole video and I will say that this video was amazing. Truly touching story. It gave me many tear-gerking moments. keep up the great work.
Absolutely love this! The new lore-marked cards also really help illustrate the story and add more flavour to cards. When creating a new EDH i really like to keep a theme going and these videos on lore are very welcome!
Yes! Arlinn Kord is one of my favorite Planeswalkers. I'm glad that we get to learn more about one of the other planeswalkers in the lore and their origins, and I hope this becomes a regular thing. ALSO: Werewolves FTW!
Please mr. professor senpai we need more content like this. Playing magic cards is so much more satisfying knowing the story behind them. This was so so good i almost feel bad not paying for it. :3
Yeah this is amazing and what Magic Story does is truly top notch I am so glad that they were able to do yet another audio novel. This is amazing during my morning commute to work!
This is such an awesome video! Please, I beg you, make more of these! :O Arlinn Kord is such a great character, indeed! The music and voice-acting in this video was astounding.
great story, amazing narration, and lovely music. If you love the lore of Magic the gathering and want to know more about this lesser known planeswalker than there is no better choice.
To those that love the MTG lore I'm so glad this audiobook style video exists. Production levels are fantastic. MTG lore isn't my cup of tea, but so happy to see this on the channel and have directed a few friends to www.MagicTheStory.com. Well done Professor, another great addition to a stellar program line up.
Listening to this lore made me stuck, not that she was my favorite planewalker, I felt like reading a good book or watching a good movie, my sincere thanks for the effort and perfect work of all of you, the Brazilian audience, thank you.
This is bad ass, thank you for putting this together, I really enjoy your videos I've been watching tonight. Arlinn is my favorite planeswalker because I love werewolves, and dogs in general.
This is awesome, the entirety of her story only fascilitated her further as one of my top three (interchangeable) planeswalkers, those being: Jace, Ajani and Arlinn. Seriously, if this got returned to books but sent to actual book houses to get printings, a lot more people would not only be playing magic, but be absorbed within its flavor, just as it was intended from the start. Glorious.
That's the most awesome thing ever. They had some really good acting. (Although there was also the "No" when the angel attacked, which was pretty half-hearted, but nobody's perfect)
professor, this is awesomeee, i hope you could do more of this videos! please make one about goblins or elves or tarmogoyf story for example ou evem black lotus story behind it ;) thank you so much for this
Professor, I truly pray that this gets to you. I have been left alone on 5 tabs of Lysergic acid diethylamide and have gotten to listen to you for about 5 hours straight talk about magic. You may not believe me, but you got to save a life today ;Metaphorically speaking of course
It might be a nice return to core sets if they did another "origins" but with non-gatewatch members. Dual walkers that also need a background and maybe a flipwalker. If they did, they could make it like return to ravnica and not use fully allied pairs nor fully enemy pairs. I would like something like RG - Arlinn BG - Vraska BU - Ashiok UW - Baan WR - Nahiri or new boros girl from ixilan Or alternatively RG - Arlinn GB - Vraska BW - Kaya WU - Baan UR - Saheeli Different planes, very little known facts, lots to develop.
Good evening Professor! Sorry lol I messaged you but found it was difficult getting to my own inbox so I figured I would also leave this as a comment. First off, I'm a huge fan. I love your videos and how helpful they are, especially for players like myself who aren't necessarily the most experienced. I was hoping I could ask for a little advice since I'm just getting into modern and am a habitual commander player. I'm trying to build a modern Knightfall deck, but the two criteria I'm focusing on are 1) keeping it at a moderate price and 2) design it so that I have a permanent core element to it. The best way to describe my thought process would be, for example, building an Abzan Knightfall main deck but having a sideboard designed to convert it into a Naya Knightfall deck. The only issue is determining what I want the core cards to be. If you have any insight on this I would definitely appreciate it! Thank you for reading my absurdly long message! Very respectfully, SPC Reinhart, Dylan
Holy shit @Gen doukeshi! I used to play League of legends with you (good old twisted treeline as the trusty lee sin) on your stream back when you were small! I only got into MTG last year (and most lol related content, sorry :s) never knew you did MTG content
I like what prof did here, but I like your general style better. Better paced. But hey, it might be cool if you worked with the prof and company for future projects?
This is awesome Professor! This really brings the lore and literature to life when it is read so theatrically. Also, what would you think about doing a video or videos where you look over all of Magic's story? I enjoy the story myself, but I would love it if someone more knowledgeable about literature such as yourself gave an overall review of Magic's story. What is good about it? What needs to improve? Oh and I mean the entire story of Magic, from the beginning to now. I feel like a lot of people like to act like snobs and bash it, but is it really that bad? Is it even bad at all? I know I would enjoy such a video analyzing it. Anyways, this video is great and I would love to see more like it! See ya.
One od the coolest lore videos i have ever watched, greetings from chile and thank you for this channel P.d. together with my son we put together a werewolf deck using the ideas you gave in another video which is also one of my favourites. We have to take turns to use it
You should do the current stories for magic, I've been saying they need to make audio dramas of the current stories so we can listen to the whole thing.

Tolarian Community College I hope this is a sign of things to come. With the novels gone, this is a godsend. More if this please.
Becoming a patreon of these folks right now.

Baron Sengir, from Homelands, by Pete Venters
DoctorMckay thank you so much!
Please more videos like this, the community is missing such great story telling, true story telling of magic lore!
phillipe lake I like Seiben (who turned his channel into AetherHub), granted it's not as theatric but Seiben tells the story well enough.
I do too don't get me wrong but this is on a completely different level in my opinion of course. When listening to the story in this format, it makes you feel more invested in the story or at least for me. I hope they do this for the Hour Of Devastation!

Arlinn was my favorite planeswalker from SOI . . . this just further justifies my liking of her.
These are so important. Please keep them up.
It's a shame that, much like Saheeli, Arlinn ended up doing nothing major in the story.
Hopefully the new model with less focus on the Gatewatch will make things like that not happen anymore.
i wonder are they gonna have bolas kill off the gatewatch in hours, if not, seal them away like the scorpion, locust, and scarab god until we return to amonkhet?
timlamiam Jace will be in the next set. As for the rest of the Gatewatch, who knows?
Yeah, but Saheeli was AROUND more. Arlinn had her own story, one cameo, and then she wasn't mentioned by name again.
Saheeli didn't get focus, but she was name dropped, every what? Third story in Kaladesh and Aether Revolt?
Andrew Green zarek is my favorite izzet walker
This just made Shadows my favorite set

I only found it today! Oh boy what a expectacular discovery! Absolutely amazing! Professor you need to keep up with this project!
Please make more videos like this one.
Some of these mtg storylines are so good it makes me want an anime for it even a live action movie(if done right)
This is by far my favorite series on your channel. I love this video thank you.
Thank you Professor! The visuals are spot on. Love your work and really appreciate the signal boost.
omg what a production. Thank you and all involved in this.
I loved Arlinn's plotline and wished she'd gotten a bigger role in the story. SOI was one of the few blocks with virtually no filler stories, because there was just so much going on. i absolutely loved this. narration was spot on and kept me engaged. I wanted to see the tale to the end and hear the story. I hope there will be more of these to come in the future.
The narrators smooth, silky, radio voice really ups the entertainment value of these lore vids. I hope we get much more of these!
I loved it, cannot think of a better way to catch up on the MTG lore from the 10 odd years Ive been away from the game. Thank you all for a wonderful experience!

Yes! Arlinn Kord is one of my favorite Planeswalkers.
I'm glad that we get to learn more about one of the other planeswalkers in the lore and their origins, and I hope this becomes a regular thing.
ALSO:
Werewolves FTW!
I got to meet Shaun the other day when he came into the shop I work at. He does great work; it is good to see the two of you collaborating.
I hope we can head back to innistrad soon!
Please give me more of this beautiful work some hunger from great story telling can be quenched
Please mr. professor senpai we need more content like this. Playing magic cards is so much more satisfying knowing the story behind them. This was so so good i almost feel bad not paying for it. :3
This is absolutely top notch. Everyone needs more of this player or not. Well done.
That light effect at the beginning is pure awesome!
This was so awesome, you can feel the amount of effort that was put into it.
Is there one of these explaining the Innistrad vampire lore?
One of my favorite magic characters is "The Terror of the Fairgrounds". Truly epic.
Salivating Gremlins
The MtG world is full of wonderful lore, stories, and potential. Thanks for sharing some of it with us in this medium, Prof!
Yeah this is amazing and what Magic Story does is truly top notch I am so glad that they were able to do yet another audio novel. This is amazing during my morning commute to work!

great story, amazing narration, and lovely music. If you love the lore of Magic the gathering and want to know more about this lesser known planeswalker than there is no better choice.
Prof, your hair is becoming a glorious Mane.
I love werewolves in Magic. And I never knew the beginning of Arlinn's backstory until this video. Fantastic job! Arlinn's a badass.
Love that scene with the kid
"why should I trust you?"
"nigga I'm an archmage stfu"
That was awesome ! Again ! :D
Thanks professor and everyone how participate to this ;)
First time watching one of these. Great job! I will definitely be recommending this series to my friends. Thanks for the lore!
Awesome! Amazing production, very emotinal and the music is on point.
This was awesome! i have always had difficulty finding good Magic lore and this video made my day.
The intro to this reminded me of Shelly Duvall's Faerie Tale Theatre which got me thinking of how cool an MTG lore spin of that format would be!
To those that love the MTG lore I'm so glad this audiobook style video exists. Production levels are fantastic. MTG lore isn't my cup of tea, but so happy to see this on the channel and have directed a few friends to www.MagicTheStory.com.

We need these for the new Midnight Hunt storyline!
Glad this video exists. Her wiki page was incredibly lackluster, despite how badass she sounded as a planeswalker.
As a huge book reader and collecter I freaked out as soon as you lit that candle RIGHT NEXT TO THE BOOKS!!!!
That narration was incredible.
It's official, Arlinn is my favorite planeswalker
i really love more of this Professor thanks man.
Omg the Vorthos in me is so happy. Sometimes the wall of text on the mothership is just a tad bit difficult to get through. This is just great.
I got lost somewhere between the beginning and the middle
gasp - Arlinn, my favourite..
Fizah Jasni domri is mine.
It'd be awesome to have these in podcast form.
Neat! This is like the audio dramas Black Library does for Warhammer. WotC should sponsor more of these to be produced.
Love it! Very nice production. I want to listen more of this. Only not sure about the acting of T Katz, I think it needs more emotion.
I'd love to see more of these!
Love the lore series, please do more good sir
professor, this is awesomeee, i hope you could do more of this videos! please make one about goblins or elves or tarmogoyf story for example ou evem black lotus story behind it ;) thank you so much for this
Since we're moving away from blocks and on to separate sets of one, one "story spotlight" like this for every set would be nice.
Its storming while im watching this.
Professor, I truly pray that this gets to you.
I have been left alone on 5 tabs of Lysergic acid diethylamide and have gotten to listen to you for about 5 hours straight talk about magic. You may not believe me, but you got to save a life today ;Metaphorically speaking of course

Awesome. Just...awesome. Gave me goosebumps and tingles. Bravo!
It might be a nice return to core sets if they did another "origins" but with non-gatewatch members. Dual walkers that also need a background and maybe a flipwalker.
If they did, they could make it like return to ravnica and not use fully allied pairs nor fully enemy pairs.
I would like something like
RG - Arlinn
BG - Vraska
BU - Ashiok
UW - Baan
WR - Nahiri or new boros girl from ixilan
Or alternatively
RG - Arlinn
GB - Vraska
BW - Kaya
WU - Baan
UR - Saheeli
Different planes, very little known facts, lots to develop.

In every sense of the words, absolutely incredibly awesome!!!!
One of my favorite walkers. The coolest of the last couple of years.
This a once yearly production now?
Thanks Gen for getting stuff like this to us weekly, really appreciate your effort man. Also your Yahenni was absolute magic.
Once a year if things go smoothly, yeah.
Holy shit @Gen doukeshi! I used to play League of legends with you (good old twisted treeline as the trusty lee sin) on your stream back when you were small! I only got into MTG last year (and most lol related content, sorry :s) never knew you did MTG content

Awesome storytelling, glad to eat such great lore!
creepy video plays well with the weather we are having in Indiana! About to storm like crazy!!!
