yes Yes *YES* . THIS is the attention the old MTG stories deserve. Prof, please do more videos like this!!!!! With your connections in the MTG lore community, you could have your hands on something absolutely golden for collaborative creativity.
@Jem Bennett Well, I was referring more to the "old _stories"_ meaning the stories written by the in-house lore team instead of the "new" way, where they outsource it to -professionals- hacks. On the other hand, Theros is old to me personally, because I started playing in Dragon's Maze.
I always loved that story. For so many reasons. My favorite being that in Zendikar Kiora had worshiped Kosi. The trickster god, who had stolen Ula spear. And though the titans had shattered her faith in gods. Here she is recreating that very same tale.
You've outdone yourself Prof. I can only imagine how you made your presentations on your classes. I could be entranced by any kind of story told this way. This is one of the greatest if not the greatest videos I have seen and listened to that has anything to do with magic the gathering and now I more like this in my life.
This is one of your strongest videos ever. It feels like a museum audio guide to accompany the scroll depicted on the art. I just love it! Kudos to the VAs, especially Wolf.
I thought I was sitting down to see Prof show us a preview card, not 30 minuets of epic story time. So. Now you have to have Wolf do... all of the rest of the MTG lore, yes? 13:56 "Sent a wave to whelm them" directly referencing Whelming Wave from Born of the Gods. I honestly have to compliment your effort, prof! Nearly 5 years ago, this was one of my favorite and most rememberable stories from the MtG lore during the first visit to Theros. Great card with great background. Keep up the good work 👏🏻
Wizards! This is what you should be doing! I think 10-15 min videos narrating the story is the perfect kind of presentation for what is still, primarily, a collectable card game. Flavor text and card art only give you snippets of understanding. Books are too long for most people to read if they just want to understand what happens to the characters in the game they play. And the storylines tend to be too shallow to really fill out a whole novel worth reading anyway. (Some would obviously disagree.) But this seems ideal to me. I loved this. This should become a thing.
