- With us returning to Innistrad in Midnight Hunt and Crimson Vow, we return to a plane of darkness. Innistrad has seen its fair share of disasters, with Werewolves, Vampires, Ghosts, and Zombies all looking to devour the last shreds of humanity. From these Gothic horrors, Innistrad has survived murderous Planeswalkers and even the Eldrazi. What is Innistrads story? What is its future?

I have listened to almost all your lore videos and this has to be one of your most ambitious but it was well worth it. I think you have made an excellent video it’s unbelievably enjoyable to learn the lore of one of my favorite planes and the first one that started me on the path to playing magic thank you for rekindling my love for magic lore.
Thank you so much! Innistrad is a great location for D&D games by itself but it's also wonderful for Ravenloft ideas.

Nahiri and Soren have epic, anime levels of beef. Literally world shattering, god manipulating conflicts. I love the scale of their fight.

One thing missed about Avacyn's creation: Sorin did this pre-mending. Its why he does not simply do so again, or one reason. he doesn't have the power to do so.
Not to mention if you read the stories, when nahiri shows up right around when he finishes creating avacyn, sorin is VERY depleted and weak to the point where he knows he CAN'T defeat her quick enough to preserve Avacyn so he has to trap her in the Helvault
@@Endarius_Termina He gave Nahiri 3 chances to give up, two when she was clearly outmatched. He could kill her or trap her. Nahiri saw that Sorin was not in his best shape and still tried to force him go.
@@remigiuszrutkowski9527 i’m shocked to see a response like this. I remember when the Pre-Mending Sorin & Nahiri story was published, *many* people were completely hate-posting about Sorin; completely disregarding the nuance of the scenario.
So…we will never get another avacyn? :( thats a shame because I liked her a lot!
@@holyordersol2668 I thought the same thing when Wizards banned tripumph of ferocity for having “offensive art” because it depicted Garruk beating up Lilliana, even though she fucking won that fight
Being newish to mtg, I went from being curios about the upcoming midnight hunt set to hyped beyond belief after watching lore vids like this.
I started playing during the last Innistrad set and it was an amazing introduction to a game that became an obsession.
IMAGINE this story arc as a well funded, well casted and top notch production movie series!? I love this lore, the plane, the setting, the characters, art and all of it. Cannot wait to get my hands on the next set. Oh and excellent work from you!

As someone who missed the Shadows part of the game during a time when i wasn't actively playing, this was very enlightening.

I love Innistrad! My first ever deck was a werewolf tribal one!
Hell yea! Mine was to with a were wolf with soul bond that gave +4+4 with it and bonded creature. Was it good? Hell no, I was just getting started.
I started after oath of the gatewatch was released, and I bought an eldrazi tribal.
Same! So glad more werewolves came out this year. So far I have them all except for Tovolar :/
This was a really good video and lore summary. I didn't think it was possible, but I'm even more hyped now for our return to Innistrad.

Hmm. Given the growing darkness on Innistrad (hopefully shown in Midnight Hunt), a “marriage” (in Crimson Vow) might make for a sort of solution, if only temporary. Years from now, maybe Emrakul will comeback during this Eternal Night, maybe with more of a snowy/wintery background to go in contrast with the upcoming sets Autumn tone.
This was a phenomenal video. I hope you're able to do more like it for some of the more fascinating settings, like Lorwyn, Alara, and so on.
With the new sets of Innistrad coming up I decided to look into the past. Amazingly detailled stuff here. Immediate sub. Good thing I have some days off because I feel like I am going to binge watch the absolute hell out of these video's hahaha.

I first started playing MTG in the transition from Oath of the Gatewatch to Shadows over Innistrad. Since then, Shadows Over Innistrad and Eldritch Moon have been some of my absolute favorite sets, as well as Sorin and Lilliana being some if my most favorite planeswalkers. I recently got back into MTG when I saw the new set was Innistrad: The Midnight Hunt and since then have been really obsessed with learning all I can about Innistrad and Sorin Markov. I immediately subbed to your channel after watching one video about Sorin and am looking forward to watching everything else you have on Sorin and Innistrad and the entirety of MTG. Your videos are awesome and extremely entertaining and knowledgeable. Keep up the awesome work!

This was an awesome video to watch. It reminded me of how much I loved Innistrad's lore. With some of the Planes getting D&D Modules, I think this plane would make an amazing Campaign Setting. Using the last of the Eldrazi as a Great Old One was a great call.
I missed the Inistrad set and was never too interested. Until your lore videos recounting the story of Jace and Ileana years back. It's possibly my favorite plane now and I'm not usually into this Halloween stuff as much, but the way they rethought the social order and magic with the Moon just gave it so much more depth.

I’m very curious about this, too, bc Shadows block left the story basically on “Sorin is trapped, & Emrakul is destroying Innistrad; enabled by Nahiri.”
I like that Liliana could not shatter the Helvault because black can't do artifact destruction, whereas white (Thalia) can. Total flavor win
