- Warhammer 40K has a lot of cool antagonists, but some of the most classic and ubiquitous are chaos cultists. Games Workshop just released a new plastic kit a couple years ago and they look awesome! In this video I show you how to paint these battle-line units in a grimdark style quickly using batch-painting and lots of drybrushing!

Congratulations sir. You're right about the other videos that I've seen out there painting chaos cultists. They do look really good, but you're right spending 35 minutes on a cultist is completely defeating the purpose of getting an army painted. I think you have struck the perfect balance of getting a good paint job with the least amount of effort pyramid and for that I think you have figured out the absolute best way to paint these wonderful figures. I'm looking forward to seeing the rest of your painting tutorials on TH-cam. Cheers
Can agree that Agrax earthshade is a must have for every figure
Great video and definitely a super easy way to get loads of cultists painted!
Keep up the good work man
For those interested, the dry rushing thing is a technique similar to "grisaille" or "greyscale."
If you want to make it even quicker (it doesn't look as good, but for horde armies that's OK), you can use the same principle, but with zenithal highlights.
Black undercoat, grey zenithal at about 45 degrees, then white zenithal a bit higher, then use washes (speed paints). Job jobbed.
If you still want to add more depth, then use a wash of something like nuln oil.
You don't get edge highlights this way, but you do get a sense of where the light is, if that makes sense?
I don't even play the tabletop (yet) so quality definitely comes before quantity but I just got my hands on a pack of these guys and definitely will try your way out. Thanks for such a short but good tutorial
Happy Heretic Noises !
@cadia job done! changed up a little by adding a dry brush of different colours and they look great (imo). now starting 2nd batch with a base of black legion fading up to leviathan purple...should be fun 🙂
Great video!
Really nice tutorial
Oh no, Cadia has fallen! To Chaos!
Great video
Goddamn it, Cadia. Can't we leave you for five minutes without you falling?
We're going to have to get you one of those personal alarms pensioners have.
sick!!! thanks!
Me just planing to have a cultist only army (yea traitor space marines are cool but i prefer my normal traitor humans....might make some traitor guard)
I feel the same way
Unfortunately the agrax earthshade you use is the old one and not available anymore. The new one does not darken the model as much. So new painters beware, you might need multiple coats to achieve the same effect.
Reikland Fleshshade is good.
Hey I’m not sure if you’re still there but I just got into cadian guard and I’m having a great time with your videos; do you think you’re coming back?
I've been busy recently but I'll get another video out soon! Thanks for the support
@@CadiaStandsno problem; this channel honestly feels underrated.
All that hard work painting him just for the model to get murdered by a heavy bolter round one
The struggle is real XD
