Thank you thank you thank you!!! I’ve been looking for a way to do this and finally found a simple way. Once I tried this method I’ve been printing in multiple colors without any problems.
instead of removing the pile of filament after the purge, I leave it on the plate and hold on to the pile with straight tweezers or a long thin stick. When the head pulls away on its way back to the print, it pulls that extra purge amount down and away from the nozzle. Once it's printing again, I pull the purge pile out the front and close the door. Works about 90% of the time. The only time it doesn't is when the purge line breaks off and I don't have anything to grab on to. Thanks for sharing your knowledge.
thank you for this! youre a genius! i never would of thought to use the paint color feature, always figured it only worked on bambu printers. thank you for testing the waters tho! this is critical for every K1 owner! trying this when i get off work today
Well done, enjoying all of your video's, has given me more insparation into using my K1, I print a lot of 3D clocks so bought this to print the gears quicker. Keep them coming and Happy Printing
@@Scratch3DPrinting I have two Ender 3v2s and an S1.. was never happy with All of the work just to get a print but now love my K1. This video totally cements my decision to go with the K1 and grow with that platform.
Hi, I subscribe to your channel which I really love to watch. I’m having a problem printing two colors with one excluder I have.Ender 3 S1 Pro I’m using orca slicer 2.0 I tried M600 end it doesn’t work I don’t know why I also try pause the print and it still doesn’t work. Any suggestion please please thank you, Eli.
Have you tried adding pause from the slider on the right side? Also when I look at the pause on orcaslider when using the 3d printer you have, it says M25, try that and see if it works. If not, then I think you might have to add a PAUSE macro into your g-code macro.
So on the K1 max can only change color at layers not on separate parts of a model ? For example if have a human figure you can not make one arm one color the other arm different color on the same layer ?\
You can, you could just use the paint tool in Orcaslicer to set which part to which color you want. But it will just be a lot of manual filament changes. Don't worry though, creality just announce their multi color system and once I got my hand on that I'll make a video showcasing it. Stay tune!
It's similar in Creality Print. There should be a time scroll near the right side of the software and when you right click it, there should be options to pause the print. Or you can use the paint tool to paint the 3d model and do what ever color you want.
I need to switch from Cura to Orca slicer for my Creality printers too. I have a Bambu too and Orca looks so much like Bambu’s slicer I’ll feel right at home. Thanks and I’d had the same problem with Creality s slicer. Creality tells me they will support color change in version 4.3.9
ok, are you using Orca slicer? Did you paint your model like here: 5:50? The pause is at the beginning of the g-code, use the slider at the bottom. If still not work, let me or the community know.
it might not be up to par with creality print in terms of quality and speed, but consider it's way easier to pause and change filament without adding any g-code, it's worth it. Beside Creality print pause function does not work at the time of making this video.
I did everything you did with the color change and when I look at the g-code they’re no pauses between filament change it just says layer change. Using the k1 printer Why would that be?

oh, nice tip. I might try that on my next multi filament print.

How to do this is creality print software

Yeah, orca slicer is really nice.
I’m using the K1 with 1 filament change (2color) and when I slice it and use the slider I don’t see the g-code pause or manual tool change at all.
ok, are you using Orca slicer? Did you paint your model like here: 5:50? The pause is at the beginning of the g-code, use the slider at the bottom. If still not work, let me or the community know.
09:27. ??? Laptop running the print? Via LAN connection? Fast camera moves made a bit confusing for me Laurie. NZ. 😢😢
It is LAN printing. Automatically pause when it needs to change color, using the screen on the k1 max for loading and unloading filaments.
I did the painting method and it didn't pause for me to change filament. 😢
What 3d printer did you use. Some 3d printers don't have the pause feature in the pause g-code.
Can you share your profiles if you find a good setting?
Definitely
Walnut!
send your profiles for orca slicer I print with regular PLA and haven't managed to get a good profile yet.
I basically did not change anything, beside from the speed, but I will try to get the g-code and put it on my patreon
'Promo SM'
Kinda useless because Orca slicer does not print at the same quality and speed as Creality Print with the default profiles.
it might not be up to par with creality print in terms of quality and speed, but consider it's way easier to pause and change filament without adding any g-code, it's worth it. Beside Creality print pause function does not work at the time of making this video.

Why would that be?
