- Do you want to know how to remap or reassign any mouse button on windows 10?? Remapping buttons on a mouse is actually pretty easily, sadly windows 10 doesn't come with default software to remap mouse buttons. You can try and download microsoft mouse and keyboard center, however, my Microsoft mouse isn't support in this software. It's ironic that it does work with 3rd party software.
Downloading X MOUSE BUTTON control, I was able to remap any button on my mouse. Go to google com and search for X MOUSE BUTTON CONTROL and it will be the first link displaying from Highrez. ...

I hate how for every issue with windows, you'd think there would be an easy fix within the system, but 9 times out of 10 you have to download a 3rd party program for the most basic task.

Hmmm... A bit misinforming though. You talk about "rebinding any button on our mouse", AND you even show a 12 button MMO mouse in the video, but the software ONLY supports a mouse with 2 additional buttons. 🙄 Not useful at all to all the people who clicked this specifically because you claim that it will work with "any number of buttons".

@@zaccuda7302 No, I looked at quite a few. I ended up learning that downloading the software for your mouse is ideal - especially if its a gaming mouse. Mine is a logitech g402 and it has a software that i downloaded off logitech website for free then watched a tutorial on how to use that :)
@@Warren2TheG lucky you mines a logitech g700s and the software wont even open and all they said is thats old we dont support it anymore.

to change to a button to a letter:
1. Find where it says "Simulated Keys"
2. Click on it
3. Type in {PRESS}(whatever button you want here)
Example: {PRESS}1
Example: {PRESS}y

Thanks bro. My brother had a stroke last year. He used to like gaming and couldn't because he ;lost the use of one arm. Now I have remapped some games so that he can basically use the mouse as a controller. It's not the most eloquent solution but it works and he is happy
This does not work for more than 2 additional buttons on the mouse. It only supports up to button numbers 4 and 5 (1, 2, and 3 being left, right, and middle click). Meaning if you have more than 2 additional buttons on your mouse, this software won't work to rebind the additional ones.

@@_matis_ Unfortunately, I still have not found a way. The reason most applications will remap up to button 5 (and why most cheap mice with macros will have 2 additional buttons instead of 3 or more) is because Windows by default recognizes up to 5 buttons. Any additional are not supported by the operating system, meaning you need additional software to interface with the mouse to interpret mouse signals and perform corresponding actions or events.
Most of the time, this works fine. Each vendor, such as Corsair or Razer, has their own software you can use with their product (in this case iCue and Synapse). However, what if you don't want to use the vendor software for whatever reason? In my case, I have a Corsair mouse with 7 total buttons but do not want iCue running because it interferes with other RGB software running on my computer. So, as of right now, I have 2 useless buttons on my mouse since I'm unable to map them.
If anyone finds a good solution for this, I would love to hear it too.

Thank you, its works. This program will disable the selected buttens (the buttens you choose) but this program will need to be active in order for the buttens to be disabled. If you close the program or delete the program then the mouse will go back just like how it was. But this program works.
FOR ANYBODY WHO WANTS A "HOLD SHIFT" ON ONE OF THEIR BUTTONS
Click simulated keys on the button of your choice, type {PRESS}{SHIFT} in the custom key(s) bar. Just below that, on the left side you'll see "1 as mouse button is pressed" click on that and change it to "3 During (press on down, release on up)" hit ok near the bottom, then apply.

Thanks. I was looking how to do this, but all I could find was people using software that came with their name brand mouse. This works for my no name for what I needed. 👍
So what if my mouse actually have 12 side buttons? This program only allowed me to change 2 of them (Mouse 4 and 5). My Corsair Scimitar registers the side buttons as the normal 1-12 keys on my keyboard, which makes the side buttons on my mouse entirely pointless. I would use the iCUE program to reassign the buttons, but iCUE is a terrible program that can damage your computer, or in worst cases brick your computer entirely.

Same for me as well. X-mouse only lets you reprogram up to two of those side buttons. As far as I can tell, the only free program is HydraMouse that lets you do more, but that's a trial 30 day period, then after that you can't change the buttons again without paying. Still better than nothing.

I moved it to desktop and every language except English was there and now trying to delete it one of the files won’t delete thanks this made my day
Right button=right click
Left button=Left click
Middle button=middle click
Mouse button4 is usually forward or Copy
5 is usually back or paste.
tilt wheels I personally disable.
Thank you! This program now override my Alienware Software, and it worked under 1 minute. No messing, just like it should be; plug and play, and set whatever wherever you want!

The video title is "... reassign SIDE buttons ... " - however there is no mention on how to reassign the SIDE buttons on the gaming mouse, only the primary buttons. Any advice on assigning side buttons?

I use discord to talk with my friends and I chose to go with "Push to talk" with the mouse button 4. Every time that I'm watching video on TH-cam or reading something on Chrome, it's super annoying as it kept going back to my previous page as that was my mouse setting. After downloading this magical tool, I did not have to do a thing, there... the problem is solved. So thank you so much XD.

The left ,right and scroll wheel work but how do i setup the 12 side buttons there is nothing on that. I have a turtle beach grip arena mouse. I would be grateful for any help or better still a video. cheers

But Xmousebutton control only has 2 additional mouse buttons (4, 5). What about for the other buttons, my mouse has at least 7 or so.

Great video. It worked. I just thought it reconfigured the buttons, but for the new setup to continusly work, the program must be running. Otherwise it goes back to how it was.

Your video is why I would be lost without TH-cam. Thank you man, this really helped with my Tecknet mouse which doesn't have software drivers. Now I am able to use the additional side buttons. In fact, I like this mouse utility so much, I think I will use it as a replacement to logitech's own software on my second laptop. I love things that are simple and just work without pushing adverts and updates.

if you accidentally map your mouse wrong and can't click anything like me, CTRL+alt+ RMB(2x) disables your XMBC preset so you can have the default mouse back :)

It downloads all other languages except English. When it opened I set the default to eng - Uk. It doesn't work. - Any advice on what I might be doing wrong?
When installing leave the specific folder empty to use defaults

Hi. Is possible to reassigh buttons on the mouse for shortcuts like Ctrl"X", "C" and "V"? I'm always using those shortcuts on the keyboard, so I want to use them on the mouse buttons.
Yes this is possible. In the mouse mapping programme, you can remap your key to the copy and paste combination by selecting control V in the dropdown bar

I am very pleased with your tutorial! I was hoping you wouldn't say to use microsoft's verison of mouse and keyboard, because that certainly didn't solve my problem. Using X Mouse Button Control took care of my issue! Thank you so much!
I donated 5 pounds. Setting the two side buttons to scroll up and down is going to fix my "trigger finger" problem. (If you are over 50 and use your index finger all day, you might get trigger finger where your finger locks up in a curled position...scrolling all day will give you trigger finger). Hopefully this will get rid of my trigger finger so 5 pounds is a whole lot cheaper than going to the doctor.
