I am here from the future with full knowledge of what happens next for this band. I originally saw this when the Nothing Matters video came out and I was searching for anything I could find on TLDP. Lou, thank you so much for this amazing time capsule of one of my current favorite bands and the other early videos you have up there. Anyone ever hear why they changed the title of the song from “Leningrad“ to “Cesar“?
Haha. The future is an interesting place to view this from. I was very excited to discover them just ten days prior to this performance, and couldn't then see than not blowing up huge. Just how quickly left me, and I know them, breathless. Abi introduces Caesar here, mentioning that it'd had various names previously. th-cam.com/video/B8oauEtz-7s/w-d-xo.html
And this was 2 years before the album came out,,, they are amazing. Strange to hear slightly different versions of the songs. God knows , and how on earth can they follow up this album. ??!! Very hard album to follow.
It was two years before it came out, but I believe it was mostly, if not entirely recorded well before its release. This was my second time seeing them, and it does have a naivety about it when compared to where they took it, given the resources, but all the elements were in place astonishingly early in their evolution. I look forward to seeing just where they go from here. It's definitely a tough act to follow. I think they're up to it though.
I am old enough to remember Queen in their early days, hearing ' killer queen' on the radio, not keen on the song but suspected there was something special there, and of course they came up with some magical stuff as they evolved and matured. Its the same with this band , they have something unique and special about them, the quality runs through all of them ,although its centred on the charismatic Abigale with her unique voice. Already you can see how " portrait of a dead girl ' has moved on from this early rendition. Hopefully their first album is just the beginning, some seriously talented song writers at work here ! .
Aurora is the sexiest one in the band without even trying.Only Emily suits wearing wings as she is a wee angeI.imagine them doing glastonbury main outdoor stage in frront of that crowd :P
Indeed they were. I think Dinner Party was already taken when their legal team looked into it. I think a supergroup moniker for a collection of artists doing jazz and hip hop in the states. Launched in 2020.
From that first encounter with them, the line that struck me was ‘when I was a child, I never felt like a child. I felt like an emperor’ I can totally visualise a six year old Abi making grandiose proclamations in her room to her assembled soft toys whilst planning her dazzling future. Also the wrenchingly poignant lyrics of on your side.
@@LouSmith I told you this, because on my phone it sounded like that. It wasn't a insult! Gosh! The world snaps these days on everything. I'm Catholic, flattery is fake and I will not lie to you.👍💐
Need this album yesterday
Gonna be all killer, no filler, that's for sure.

Fantastic...Great songwriting and love the theatrics of their approach. Big things await surely, one of those bands that people will love.
I think you're right on all counts!
Thanks for the videos; I'm discovering so much good new music through this channel! Hope some of these bands make it to NYC!
Thanks! Good news. Some are bound to make it one day. Just law of averages.
That is a tune…..no needs to elaborate
There’s a few to choose from here.
They are freaking majestic .. Love them to bits ❤ .. Hope to see them Australia one day
I think they’re set to conquer the world, so I wouldn’t bet against it one day. Barring the next pandemic that is.
@@LouSmith I want to see them dominate .. They are going to do so well .. Want to send them close to the top of international charts if not the top ..
Haha. I’m sure they’ll reach a dizzying height.
hope you've bought your tickets! they'll be here in July!
I think this is the song list:
Burn Alive
Portrait Of A Dead Girl @ 03:22
Leningrad @ 07:55
My Lady Of Mercy @ 12:01
Nothing Matters @ 14:52
Nice work! I’ll pop it into the description tomorrow.
Another step to superstardom :-)
Could be. That's what I told them anyway.
Portrait of a Dead Girl!
Definitely worth an exclamation.

They came of age rather abruptly from here, it's true.
Dresden Dolls resurrection
do they have any platforms to listen to them on? they sound great
Just here for now. I'm sure it won't be long.
If you're still interested, their first single just came out.
@@smurfyx oml imma have to check that out thank you
It’s a belter! Nothing Matters.
There is a link at the end of this video!
so were they just called the dinner party, before adding the "last"?

Did they post the lyrics of this song anywhere?
These songs*
There is a lyric video for nothing matters, but other than that, I doubt it as nothing else has been released.
I’m not always concerned with lyrics unless they have a poetical aura. From I what I can hear so far, I want to know every syllable!

People constantly talking during concerts are just the worst. Can't they keep their mouth shut for 1h? Well,...no they cannot. 😉
It seems they cannot. If only they knew then what we know now, maybe they would’ve.
This sound a bit flat, check your sound equipment. friends.
Lol. I'll get you to come and do it for me next time. Free of course.
