I think it was Lorne who said it, but all roads lead to the sequel trilogy. Who wants to see how we get to that disappointment? They really killed the "magic" of it....which would have been impossible to think 10 yrs ago!
Pablo Hidalgo was the guy who kept an updated list of the different alien races in the Star Wars Universe. He also had a hand in the visualisation of the Universe, where the planets should be. George Lucas liked it so much that he hired him.
The best they can write about Hidalgo: "[A]uthority who helps ensure consistency across a wide array of 'Star Wars' projects." There exists not a digit that can enumerate the in-franchise self-contradictions that Disney/Lucasfilm have indulged in, to the point where their garbage doesn't even qualify as self-parody. The best this soon-to-be-pulped reject work can hope for is print-on-demand, which will number well into a dozen or so copies.
Pablo writing the Visual Guide does not indicate he is involved in "figuring out the visuals." Those guides have been around since the late 90s as the "Visual Dictionaries." All they are is a series of pictures of characters and objects from whatever project the book is covering with descriptions that give more details about them than you get just watching the shows or movies. They were a way to get more info on the lore and small details you miss in the actual films. I used to buy them until the Disney era. Pablo has written most if not all the post-Disney visual guides, but he has worked for Lucasfilm since the 90s and helped create/expand the original website. His job was basically to write about the lore in various official guides and articles (he worked on the giant SW Encyclopedia, for instance), and to help with continuity between projects. Him working in the Story Group was just an extension of what he was doing during the Lucas years, but they made it sound grander than it was. I remember having an early twitter conversation with him and asked what they would do if contradictions cropped up in the new Disney canon. He claimed that that would never happen due to the Story Group. I knew there would be problems from then on if that was the attitude. I think he thought they would have greater say in how stories were developed than they actually did, and Disney/Lucasfilm ended up not caring about blatant continuity errors.
This comment needs more likes. Another WDW Pro Star Wars info miss. Once again, he needs to vet and research before pulling the trigger on a story. Pablo has been doing the visual novels for a long time. If anything, he's just an archivist and these books are just his reports. Pablo sucks but he doesn't come up with all the canon breaking material. The schmucks hired by Disney and KK are responsible.
Indeed. It is such an amateur mistake to make too. Pro is definitely old enough to know the difference between someone having a corporate title and someone running things. There is a very big difference between "THE" creative executive and having the title "Creative Executive." Pro should know better than this.
Zahn is a white man. He's never going to be asked to weigh in on Thrawn. As for the mask, the younger generations seem to love it. I'm old enough to remember the prequels being disliked.
Seeing the crap that's come since, the prequels were definitely judged too harshly. Nothing about them is unforgivable. The Disney trilogy is entirely unforgivable.
Zahn was consulted by Filoni, when he and his team were writing, SW: Rebels. In all likelihood, Filoni will consult him on his Heir To The Empire adaptation. He may not have been consulted by Jon Favreau, because The Mandalorian & Grogu isn't necessarily going to dive deeply in to the Thrawn material. That'll be saved for Ahsoka (Season 2) and Filoni's follow-up to Favreau's movie.
@@anthonyyoutubefan7567 In a 2022 interview, Zahn said he was pleased with Thrawn's adaptation in Rebels. Zahn was also given scripts to inform his writing. However, the collaboration was unidirectional. He was never asked to consult on the tv shows.

That's always been Pablo Hidalgo's title - anything that said otherwise is obfuscating by Disney I e-mailed the publisher about The Mandalorian Visual Guide which was supposed to be published in 2021 after the fiasco with SW Theory and Gina.telling them that "At this point it may be wise to change the name of the author from Pablo Hidalgo to Lucasfilm Story Group considering Hidalgo's current relationship with fandom - I love these books and would hate to see you publish it and have hardly anyone buy it." I received a reply, "Thank you for your concern. The book has been postponed due to The Mandalorian getting a third season." As if they had never published a book and then produced an updated version as subsequent seasons/movies came out. I'm not about to contact them again about this book - if they can't see the writing on the wall it's on them. I'm not buying it. Also, saw the Star Wars Encyclopedia that has the Cara Dune entry - with the picture of Gina that Jay (Drunk3P0) had never seen before - in Barnes and Noble and fortunately not shrink wrapped. A picture that was beautifully detailed when if filled my computer screen is about the size of your thumbnails when they're on the left hand side or bottom of the screen - with text taking up about the same amount of space. My best guess is that it was originally intended for The Mandalorian Visual Guide for Cara as a major character in the series. Didn't buy it either. Both books will be in the marked down area of B&N (and probably Ollies) shortly. On the can you trust the bio a publisher says about the author front. The information has to come from the person or the business or institution where they are currently employed or in attendance - they can't just make something up Take for instance the bio published in 1991 - "Barack Obama, the first African-American president of the Harvard Law Review, was born in Kenya and raised in Indonesia and Hawaii." Both birth certificates - Kenyan and Hawaiian - have been called into question.
Here's another wrinkle: In mid-2021, We were supposed to get, The Mandalorian: An Original Novel, which was to be the centerpiece of The Mandalorian Publishing Campaign (since it was intended to be a kind of narrative bridge between Season 2 Finale of The Mandalorian and The Book Of Boba Fett, Rangers Of The New Republic, and Season 3 of The Mandalorian), announced in late Summer 2020. The book had already been written (by Adam Christopher, who ended up penning the novel, Shadow Of the Sith), and was available for pre-order, and was just awaiting its final cover art, prior to its release. However, by Spring 2021, it was RATHER QUIETLY, QUICKLY, DISMISSIVELY cancelled. Months later, Kathy Kennedy stated -- in a printed article -- that its cancellation was due to Favreau and Filoni wishing their unfolding story to not be anticipated by an interconnected book. If that was the case, WHY did Faveau and Filoni allow the book to be written in the first place? Hmmmm? My take on the situation is: That book was guaranteed to be a #1 Bestseller, and it would've arrived on bookshelves just as Phase One of The High Republic Multimedia Initiative was in the midst of releasing its first wave of novels, comics, and short stories to the SW Audience...The Mandalorian would've absolutely overtaken and eclipsed the VIBE of all current SW publishing, making the pocket universe of The Mandoverse even more significant and financially lucrative...one of the new wonders of The Mandoverse was break-out heroine Cara Dune...in all likelihood, considering Jon Favreau had just written the first 2 episodes of, Rangers Of The New Republic (in October/November of 2020), and Gina Carano and one of her costars had already read (and loved) The Pilot for the series, Rebel Shock Trooper-turned-Marshal Of Navarro Carasynthia Dune would've played a relevant role within that original novel...however, the major likes of Kennedy and HIdalgo HATED how $uccessful that character had become (for a brief period, in 2020, Cara Dune merchandise was 2nd only to Grogu merch), and how the character was exclusively a creation of Mr. Jon Favreau, and NOT The Lucasfilm Story Group...thus, when Kennedy & Co. sought to destroy Gina Carano's career and excellent prospects for becoming a SW and Disney Princess, they quickly realized they had to delay or outright ERASE ALL MEDIA RELATED TO CARA DUNE...The Mandalorian: An Original Novel was the biggest erasure they dictated, besides removing Cara Dune from The Mandoverse and the rest of The SWU. I think a reckoning is on the way, however...that book might get published, in the long run...esp since Ms. Carano seems to be holding all of the cards towards Disney/Lucasfilm Ltd.'s fate.
I hate channels that milk a topic and say something over 10 minutes he could have said in 5 seconds. He gives good information sometimes but he's such a drama queen.
