    Nice one. Gave me inspiration to the Liesa I'm building.
    I didn't went on the spell restriction path. Instead I added tax effects for players attacking me (Baird, etc.) and chose to make use of Vito and Vizkopa Guildmage for my wincons. Giving extort with pontiff of blight is also quite fun 😄

    Love the deck tech, but good luck having friends if you build this in paper 😅

    Deff in love with it can u make another deck list with no budget in mind just going all out like money wasn't a problem

    • @robertsiemon410
      @robertsiemon410 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      money isn't a problem. if you build on a budget, and build it over the course of a month or 2. trade for what you can find. the lands are probably the easiest to trade for because ppl will have them. but stuff like polluters bond would be harder less of them in circulation, same for land tax, and smothering tithe.

    Painful quandary would make a great stax piece in this deck

    I feel like anguished unmaking would be an ideal removal spell in the deck. This looks like it would be miserable to play against which I suppose is kind of compliment.

    One card that Slipped by Me was cradle of Vitality... 4 Mana, whenever you gain life pay 2 put that many +1/+1 counters on a creature... I gave her double strike, and made her a 20/20 in one swing with ease...

    i've had liesa for ages now but i haven't really figured out what build to do, i'm definitely gonna try and make it a midrange cedh stax beatdown deck :)
    (not something i'd bring to a regular edh table. the understanding in cedh is that everyone is trying to win, by any means necessary, with no hard feelings. a lot of people think cedh has no room for fun, but quite the opposite, the fun comes from the tough, really tight competitiveness of it)

    I make my liesa deck differently and I don't run very many stacks in it at all. I double down on the cards that deal damage to my opponents instead like sir Conrad when any creature hits the graveyard or leaves it or bloodchief ascension as 2 specific examples. I also think it is best to let Liesa actually do her job by encouraging people to play spells not to limit their ability to cast spells. It allows her ability to kill people faster. Celestial Mantle on Liesa along side Vito should kills players fast since life gain becomes damage when he is out and you double your life total any time Liesa would deal damage.
    That is stuff I am doing with my Liesa deck and I am thinking of more damage effects like Trespasser's curse to add to the deck as well as another potential idea. It is also important to not let the enemy gain life to counter what you are doing to them, so I run a tainted remedy in it as well. I would put Erebus God of death in it but I think Tainted Remedy would make more sense to play in this deck.

    • @robertsiemon410
      @robertsiemon410 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      yeah I agree. kinda surprised this guy thought this build was the right one. I think he just took all the stax cards threw them in with out really thinking about what her ability does. kinda like ppl playing dumb shit like bolas's citidel in their deck, you wanna pay 7 life for a 5/5 that likely won't impact the game?

    • @SavvySavy2
      @SavvySavy2 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Wouldn't erebos be better for the card draw?

    • @jeffreyknapper408
      @jeffreyknapper408 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@SavvySavy2 Yes it would but my deck is all about taxing my opponents. It is better to have both Erebus and Tainted remedy in the deck just case someone removes one or the other so you have the other one as backup. I don't do that because I like Tainted remedy more in this scenario but it is a good idea to have Erebus too.

      @@jeffreyknapper408 I totally agree with your building philosophy. Moreover, I think it is just right and how Liesa is meant to be played. It really is beyond me why people play a commander which makes or should make the game end faster by draining peoples' life go slow by mindlessly playing every stax piece under the sun. Anyway, I'm running Pestilence, Last Laugh, Iron Maiden and Ankh of Mishra (along with those popular black enchantments everyone pretty much runs) in my Liesa deck and they are just amazing. Timely Ward or Blessing of Leeches work amazingly well for protecting your Liesa, just be sure to optimize your boardwipes accordingly while playing Blessing of the Leeches. I am still on the fence though whether I will take Angel of Destiny out, because since playing those obscure taxing cards I get hated a lot. But still, it has eliminated a bunch of players in various games.

    • @jeffreyknapper408
      @jeffreyknapper408 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@vds92 A recent change I made in my deck is to give it a win con that doesn't require life gain just in case I run into tainted remedies etc myself since my win cons all use life gain. I added a yogmoth and a undying zombie to drain the table with a blood artist effect that way and a vorpal sword too. The taxing effects do the job just fine but I need a good finisher since the hate of being taxed is easy to see especially when an opponent tries to play a storm deck etc.

    Just remember that your interaction now costs more because of thalia, wingmare and glowrider. Just figured people should probably take into account that most stax pieces are symmetrical and should be careful in choosing what to play and not.

      I think people tend to oversee the distinction between stax/hatebears and tax or taxing effects, which blows my mind.

    Immortal servitude doesn t say x or less. It says x which is way worse and not worth in by any means.

    • @danielsalay3681
      @danielsalay3681 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have it in an old 60 card deck and it can definitely be worth it. I didn't count for this deck but if you pay 5 mana you can easily find yourself bringing back 4 or more hate-bears straight back onto the board. It's not a first plan card but if your opponent has board wiped or been answering all your creatures this is frequently a 4+ for one card. Very good back up plan.

    Immortal servitude doesnt work how you said.
    You said it brings back creatures with cost X 'or less' back from the graveyard.
    But its just with cost X, no 'or less'. Still good because at 3 or 2, you will probably get a few hits with it, but yeah.
    Card im amazing in a shadowborn apostle deck.

    Can we like...focus on builds that people actually enjoy playing against? It so easy to throw together every stax card and call it a deck and it is an entirely other thing to bring originality built to your commander’s personality...

      Not necessarily. Sure, taking 2 life for every spell you cast is not cool. But it's a simmetrical effect so it's fair game.
