I have an L21B with the SFT40, and it is a great flashlight. I live on a lake, which is 1420m wide, where I live. I can illuminate the far shoreline when conditions are right. ie. No mist, fog, rain, etc. It's an absolute beast. One of my favorites. Another is the Convoy 4 x 18. I think it throws as far with considerably more flood. Its' only drawbacks are the weight and size. Both are great lights.

I owned some glossy reflector flashlights in the past, but they are so bad in close-middle distances that I now don't use them. When I need thrower - my *KENSUN High Power XHP70 Rechargeable Led Flashlight* with 26650 battery can throw the light really far away, and its price is under 9 USD. 1200lm, rather blue tint, though. I just love its super-simple control, nice button and super-even light distribition. Of course I use it on wide-angle mostly.
The Convoy Ls are definitely hard to beat, either with the NM1/PM1, SFT40 or SBT90.2. You can't get much cheaper without really sacrificing build or component quality. I would add the Noctigon DM11 in there, as the NM1/PM1 will throw to 700+ meters in it, costs $40, and it's smaller than all the lights in the roundup there.

The 3x21a triple sft40s is great as well, was my favorite until I got the new haikelite ht50 pro ....both really good throwers with very good spill for some what of a flood effect...can't go wrong with either the 3x21a with triple sst40s is awesome too just not as powerful but more than enough and have triple cells for amazing runtimes...the 2 convoys hold turbo longer tho for sure

That triple sft40 is amazing, you will enjoy it for sure!....the ht50 pro claims 8000 lumens 1600m throw but I don't think it goes that far...it throw the same as the triple sft40 3x21a convoy but with a brighter hot spot but to the naked eye I honestly can't tell which shoots further but I know the 3x21a is rated for 5400lm & 1029m so I doubt the 1600m claim on the ht50 pro but I still like it, build quality the convoy feels better built and is larger so doesn't get as hot during turbo
The convoy 3x21a is probably the light I reach for the most often because it has way more than enough spill to be used up close and more than enough throw, also it just feel better to carry than the ht50 pro because of the texture of the flash light, it just feels more secure in my hand but I like convoys so maybe I'm biased lol

The best cheapest thrower IMHO would be the convoy l21b with sft40 or osram CULPM1
