In This Week in MXA, episode 173, presented by O'Neal, Josh Mosiman talks about the Dal Soggio FSR-48 spring forks and how great they were on all of the Austrian bikes for the entire MXA wrecking crew. Plus, he shares some footage from the Faircross race in Phoenix Arizona where Michael Hicks won $5000, Austin Politelli earned $3000 for second and Chris Blose took him $2000 for third. Also, highlighted is the fact that Adam Cianciarulo is retiring at the end of the Supercross season and Jeremy Martin is taking a leave of absence from the series. Finally, in the end, hear from Lars Lindstrom of HRC Honda about his journey to Team Manager, and hear from Chris Budd about being the drone operator for Supercross.

Josh is always on point. So glad he works for MXA. Give him a raise:-)
I actually prefer my air forks on my 2023 250 XC over the stock SSS Kayaba forks on the 250x. I was surprised how much better they are compared to the previous air forks, and I like the fact that I can just increase the pressure for the moto track. It’s interesting to note that most of the Star Yamaha team is on the KYB air forks.
Behind the scenes regarding the Drone stuff was quite interesting.
Loved you coverage/review of the AZ fair race. Salt of the earth pro racing. Need more coverage of that.
The drone insight was cool!!!
❤awesome as always 😍thank you for sharing 💖
Congratulations on your 👌 racing results!...🏁
Spring forks are the only way to go.....
I'm a big fan of my 48 AER with Kreft Revalve Control
😊 the drone cameras are adding a really cool element to the sport'$ presentation 💸
Problem I had with the AER in the XC was doing harescrambles, we started at 11 and finished at 1, so a good 10+ swing in outside air temps plus the heat build up during the race, so would have to try and guess at the air pressure and set them 3-5psi lower at the start so they wouldn't be so harsh at the end of the race when you are dead tired, but way too soft at the start
the key is to set the pressure when they are hot. there is a point where the pressure stops rising even if the forks get hotter. you have to get to that point and then set the pressure.
Guy at race tech showed me this, with data to back it up.
I got these forks on my beta 450 rx I love them
Do they make a rear shock?
chilling at work right now
Same
Talk about progressing quickly. I can't believe kalana Humphrey is already on the 450.
Where can can u get the forks and spring kits ? Tks mxa
Im still making due with my Gold-valved factory '96 CR500 forks and heavy springs...
Which is better, these or the SSS conversion?
Pretty expensive forks but l love them
My buddy just ditched his air forks for some DS cartridge drop ins and seems happy with them 🤷🏻♂️
Factory sano…🤙
Thanks for the video papa
Im tired of ktm crap forks and I've owned a bunch of them. They should come with cone valve forks from the factory. Pretty sad Yamaha delivers bikes with the best forks in the industry on a stock bike yet ktm wants a fortune for aftermarket forks.
You can buy a set of cone valves for that kind of money
4K not that bad, a diamond kit from RG3 will cost a lot more than that
RG3 is out of business.
They probably belong on the new Ducati, I bet that'll cost 2 legs.
If you buy these over cone valves or kyb kit suspension you are crazy
Why crazy?
100% it’s insane how ridiculous people are I’ve had the bone stock ones and have over shot 100ft jumps and been perfectly fine, mud races, hard pact, crazy breaking bumps and never had a single issue and have more than capable and comfortable setup on my 22 air forks and I have a works edition crf450 with spring forks and I prefer the Ktm. Had a buddy over shoot his CRF450r works and bottomed out so hard his achillies ruptured. Cone valves I can get if you’re desperate for more comfort I guess but 4k for forks… wtf might as well get a different bike.
Or mx tech
These are significantly better than cone valves
😂 So for your ridiculously expensive Austrian bike, you could dump an extra $4,000 for fancy Italian forks or just a mere $1,500 for the internals... 🐒 NOICE 👌
JUST BUY A KAWI/yAMI ITS WAY LESS AND BETTER
Nah they definitely arent
@@Runk3lsmcdougal The Yamaha is definitely better but the Kawi , no way .
The problem with the air fork isn’t the air pressure. Mine doesn’t change. The problem is they are so harsh, don’t feel connected to the ground AT ALL, dive in the stroke real bad when you use the correct air pressure for your weight.
Harshness is damping not spring rate.
@@fen2453 It’s a combo. I know what you’re saying tho. But I could open the clicker all the way up, or close it, didn’t matter where they were set on OEM settings. It was harsh. A set of xtrigs, factory connection valving, and some PHDS mounts, took care of that problem
I'd like to add a low buck tester to your team...😅 I don't have to ride any other bikes. I'll bring my own 20-plus year old two-stroke. Wear stinky outdated gear, straight from the dirty gear bag... And burn lots of mid-grade pump gas ⛽ on smoothed out knobby tires...
You can add the evaluation on my performance and tooling for the money spent, to compare to your diamond encrusted world
😂 you'll see, I'm not that much slower than you!
Get rid of Ricky Carmichael, commentating, and put Adam in his place
New bikea should not be much more than this price. We need a come to jesus meeting across the ENTIRE INDUSTRY!! $10-12K BIKES?? NO. $900 KNEE BRACES? GTFO! We need a meeting before deegan is the only person left that can afford to ride!!
It's called inflation bud. It's not the industry's fault its the fault of politicians.
@@chetmanley7209It all starts at the top. The fault falls squarely on the shoulders of Biden. He's a hack.
@@chetmanley7209politicians print money?!?!?
@@chetmanley7209Thank you. It is scary how many people have no understanding of economics.
You could always buy tools and supplies to make your own... oh wait, that would cost time and money.
Stuff costs what it costs for multiple reasons. And "you get what you pay for" Sadly always rings true
So now to have a decent dirt bike you have to spend 5 quadrillion dollars all because you guys keep on asking for more horse power and cell phone connectivity with 322 different maps instead of be looking for a bike with better handling better suspension so we can actually be a bit faster and safe….
And remember by the time that you finish to build your bike they will have already released 2 new bikes and your bike will be just an old bike worth have of what you paid for.
I will never buy a bike with air forks! Yamaha tried in 76 and many others even Kawasaki a few years back. They are CRAP always was always will!
They are not worth that much, bloody hell , take them off, people are so stupid
Rode nothing but Hondas for 42 years. Bought a KTM because they're supposed to be great. That pos is the worst bike I've ever owned.
