Two things I would like to see changed for the coming D5 series (coming in probably 5 year’s time 😆) are 1: that it would be wonderful if the matrix bass cabinet could be divided into a upper and lower cavity. As it is now the vertical standing waves are within the drivers pass band. If the matrix panel between the drivers was made without holes frequencies of the vertical standing waves in the bass cabinet would be pushed above the cross over point. To do this the upper and lower parts of the cabinet would have to have separate ports (probably pointing towards the rear).
2: it annoys me that the impedance in the bass range falls to around 3,4 ohms (for the 801 D4) Come on B&W lift it up to 4 ohms just to make certain that all decent amplifiers can drive it properly.

Much more weight to the sound, more bass performance, better midrange performance due to decupled midrange head. Everything feels larger, meatier...

hi, I have 800 D3s, I noticed that the heads containing the middle finger are not fixed to the cabinet, they move. Is this normal? Or is it a flaw? Thanks a lot for the answer

Do the 800 series must be delivered upright? Because my 803d3 bestbuy didn't let me pick them up with my van laid down on their sides. Thank you for your great clip

big fan of Sound United....
lots of greeeeeat insight.... and indepth information of technological advancements, enhancments and their aural benefits in the British B&W realm.....
also in addition I would say don't waste your time with anything less than the 803s....
performance wise they certainly didn not impress in tangent to thier price points but the more higher ”spec'd” equipment performed better.
turbine technological performance is exceptional and very special...
for me perhaps 10k pre power combos is not the most effective combo fornthe 804s.... synergy is everything.
I guess for this sort of monies I want to be swept off my feet. 800..801...803.... all exceptional with fantastic styling.

Well it’s gonna end up happening as you gonna raise the prices of these speakers so high all lines 600 and 700 and 800 you’re going to lose a lot of customers and this is going to be especially true with the 800 line. Very very expensive asking prices and as much as the technology is good I don’t feel it’s justified for a 2000+ dollar price increase let alone an added expense for the stands the stands should’ve actually been the same price a little bit much and actually disappointing

It's interesting how B&W tries to divert your attention away from neodymium magnets in their properganda. The truth is that neodymium makes all the difference & everybody can experience this by buying any off the shelf driver.

With all due respect I love the D3 and to be honest the fact that this company was acquired again by a company that has no idea about audio I’m not talking about sound united talking about the company that bought sound United is disturbing. In regards to this video the D4 creation process was around probably before sound united purchase this company the credit should go to the Bowers And Wilkins team that sound united I appreciate your information but I don’t agree with that at all the way you came across

Your images of the 4kz spider VS The standard spider couldn't be more false. Plastic is never good used in a speaker driver because plastic melts when it gets hot. I would destroy these speakers in 20 minutes.
