When you are a gardening enthusiast, and grow your own tomatoes and herbs, including basil, this is a brilliant recipe to showcase their goodness. Cheers!
You are by far one of my favorite youtube chefs. I really like the way you present the recipe and make it seem so easy that I wouldn't be afraid to try even if it was my first time cooking. This had endless variations possible too. I want spinach in mine!
Good homemade soup. I had a problem roasting the tomatoes at 220 degrees but then realized that I needed it to be 425 F. 220 was Celsius. You can probably also consume this cold like a glass of tomato juice. It tastes like V-8 without all the salt.
I am impressed by this tutorial! Not just show you how to make the soup step by step with tips but also give you the reason behind each step! And the time management is well organized. I don't need to speed the video like other tutorial. Amazing! Thanks for making this wonderful TH-cam video!
I "really, really" love KerryAnn! Beautiful and charismatic! Yummy recipe. Looking forward to making it when the weather cools down in a month or two. Greetings from Texas!
Love that you didn't add any heavy cream to this. At home, I usually pop in about a handful of raw cashew for that extra creamy, hearty texture. Works like a charm ;)
I just made the soup and absolutely loved it 😍 I jused fresh, sun-ripened tomatoes out of my mothers garden and added an onion. Even though I did not add any surgar, honey or sweet paprika power it still was very sweet and delicious. There won't be anything left :D This meal will be added to my recipe-collection. Kerry Ann, you did a good job.
Made this today and just added a red onion to the tomato roast to give it a kick! I then strained the soup after mixing for a nice smooth consistency. Amazing recipe!
KerryAnn you are my favourite foodtuber by far! Absolutely putting your book on the Christmas list. Lots of love from New Zealand - your recipes are awesome for working mum of toddler X
Just made this, I only added 300ml of water and beef oxo cube as I didn't have veg. I also allowed it to simmer for around 40 mins at the final stage. It was nice, creamy and thick. Thanks Kerry Ann
If you're ever in America, we have a company called Campbells who makes tomato soup ready to eat. I know it's not fresh, but it takes almost no time and effort and tastes good. Nothing against the nice lady in the video, but that's a lot of time and effort for tomato soup. So, options are good.
So, this is the fifth video I've watched on how to make tomato soup at home. Thank you so much for getting straight to the point and actually using raw tomatoes instead of canned. It's a great soup for cold winter days, and I'm looking forward to making this instead of buying the expensive premade version.
Super simple and really really really good. Didn't have sage used fresh rosemary instead but worked well and final taste was perfect. Not my opinion a Ukrainian chef loved this soup. I say experiment with other herbs too. Which is what I'm doing today with second batch. No basil so parsley is the replacement.
Made this today..absolutely delicious! I added an onion lightly sautéed right before I pulverized the mix just for more nutrients. My favorite tomato soup recipe. Thank you Jamie! ❤️
I have a overflow of tomatoes and just canned 12 liters tomato sauce... checked a lot of vids here on youtube but most use storebought crushed tomatoes and I wanna use fresh ones... this recipe seems simple and im gonna try it out this weekend! ♥♥♥
Hi Kerryann - I just made this recipe, it was so flavorful and absolutely delicious!! I love how roasting the tomatoes brings out their natural sweetness. My tomatoes were a bit bigger so I had to roast them a little longer. While they were roasting I made my own veggie stock for the soup and it turned out great! I love all your videos, I can't wait to try the rice and peas. Keep up the great work!
+Jamie Oliver What kind of plant? I can't hear it, and I'm dutch and doesn't help that I also just can't see what kind of plant it is. Because I don't know :x
This is Awesome! Made it last time with some green tomatoes and omitted the stems. We had a lot of tomatoes in varying stages of ripening so I had to "top up" with some green ones to get the right weight. Loved it so much am doing it again.
This is great but don't be shy to throw a can of tomato paste in to the base if you want it to have a bit of structure/base...fry it up in Olive Oil first then add your stock...go with the rest of the recipe from there...very good...happy eating.!!!!!
Will make this for my sister! Thanks! Looks delicious! age loves it with cheese toast sandwich! She usually has soup from a packet.. made with corn starch.. I'm sure this will be healthier! and I can freeze it too! Great! loved ur apron btw!
Thank you!!!! I am very picky when it comes to my tomato soup. So I figured I should make my own and I’m in love with this version. (It’s really the only one I’ve done. I found this one to be the most wholesome to make at home without any caned goods!) I’ve done this recipe a couple of times now and I’m still in love. I’ve added red bell peppers and it has turned out very tasty as well.
Excellent simple recipe. I have plenty of fresh tomato's and spices. Turned out very well. To level out the tartness I added about a tablespoon of white sugar. The soup needs to be strained through a fine wire mesh strainer. Cheers!
I looove tomato soup! I haven't had it in a long time, and have never made it from scratch. A friend gave me an immersion blender; this would be a good recipe to try so that I can use it!
Thank you so much for this recipe! My oldest daughter loves soup, but tomatosoup? She always ate a tiny bit. I made this soup, she said, just a bit mom, and finished two whole bowls! That's half a litre of tomatosoup! Yay! By the way, the rest of the family loved it too. :-) I didn't use olive oil though, very allergic to that unfortunately. So I used rapeseed oil. When we are having a birthday party with family and friends, we always make a huge bowl of homemade soup. Next time it will be this one, yum!
Sweet heaven on hearth if i had had tomatoes right now i'd made it right away! Looks amazingly delicious and yet so simple. Love it when making something so good is so accessible! Thumbs up :)
In that last half hour I would put in lots of veggies, if you eat meat maybe some meatballs to make it more filling. I eat soup as a whole meal, so just a bowl of blended/mashed tomatoes isn't filling enough for me, so for me it would be a tomato/veggie soup. But the idea of roasting them is nice, I allway use tins of chopped ones, will try the roasting when I make tomatosoup
Astrid S That's not the point. This is a roasted tomato soup recipe, not vegetable soup, not tomato and meatball soup, not tomato bisque and not shepherd's pie.
When you are a gardening enthusiast, and grow your own tomatoes and herbs, including basil, this is a brilliant recipe to showcase their goodness. Cheers!
Totally agree,it's great to have fresh ingredients at your convenience
I've never in my life have seen tomatoes this perfect! I want
They look amazing!
Come to Africa 😝
@@kagisotlou6122 Really? Where?

filter make them look better
You are by far one of my favorite youtube chefs. I really like the way you present the recipe and make it seem so easy that I wouldn't be afraid to try even if it was my first time cooking. This had endless variations possible too. I want spinach in mine!
+Jamie Oliver Thanks for that!

I "really, really" love KerryAnn! Beautiful and charismatic! Yummy recipe. Looking forward to making it when the weather cools down in a month or two. Greetings from Texas!

thank you! gotta try this

Very natural and healthy with no creams etc. I like the way you added the garlic and tomato stems very natural flavours indeed. ThAnks.
Made this today and just added a red onion to the tomato roast to give it a kick! I then strained the soup after mixing for a nice smooth consistency. Amazing recipe!
I love your recipes and you make it so simple for everyone. Especially busy mums. X
KerryAnn you are my favourite foodtuber by far! Absolutely putting your book on the Christmas list. Lots of love from New Zealand - your recipes are awesome for working mum of toddler X
The best comfort food ever, love it!!!
I finished the soup, it's divine! I added over the tomato soup, 1/2 the shrimp soup instead of vegetables.
Wonderful recipe, thank you!
The outcome from where Kerry Ann started to the finished soup is brilliant. I would try this recipe! Definitely!
I don’t make any other tomato soup than this, it’s become our family’s favorite in the past two years😊and it’s so simple!
Just made this, I only added 300ml of water and beef oxo cube as I didn't have veg. I also allowed it to simmer for around 40 mins at the final stage. It was nice, creamy and thick. Thanks Kerry Ann
1 year later making again, this time with homemade veg stock 😊lol

This recipe is really good! And as one who is looking for recipes without added sugar, I am really happy to have found this one.
I made this soup and it was delicious! I will never go back to store brought tomato soup again. Thank you for the recipe.

It takes a lot of time, but it is definitely worth it. Thanks for sharing your natural delicious soup.

This looks so delicious, I really enjoy your videos and look forward to them.
+Jamie Oliver What kind of plant? I can't hear it, and I'm dutch and doesn't help that I also just can't see what kind of plant it is. Because I don't know :x

This sounds delicious and I have a porch full of summer heirloom tomatoes, yum!
Tried this today and ohhh sooo good! Just like how it’s being served in restaurants! Thanks for sharing!

I absalutley love keryann. So easy to listen to xx
Wonderful recipe, very interesting and versatile because it can be born a beautiful sauce for pasta! Thank Kerryann for sharing!
This is great but don't be shy to throw a can of tomato paste in to the base if you want it to have a bit of structure/base...fry it up in Olive Oil first then add your stock...go with the rest of the recipe from there...very good...happy eating.!!!!!
Canned tomatoes or tomato paste tend to have a tinny metallic taste to it but if you were to make your own it would do well
better still grab some juicy plum tomato out of the garden will thicken it up nicely and leave a lovely sweet taste
Thank you for this great recipe! Will be looking out for more recipes from your programme.
Thank you for the lovely recipe, Kerryann!
Will make this for my sister! Thanks! Looks delicious! age loves it with cheese toast sandwich! She usually has soup from a packet.. made with corn starch.. I'm sure this will be healthier! and I can freeze it too! Great! loved ur apron btw!

I remember seeing KerryAnn as she was "casted" by Jamie Oliver some 10 or even 15 years ago. So nice to see you in this show now :)
Nicely produced video. I have a soup maker but love the idea of blitzing soup with a hand blender.
looks lovely for dipping fresh bread....yummm
add a bit of wine, might even be better as a bath for fresh mussels ...and dipping for bread
Love Kerryann. More Kerryann please.
you literally cannot beat tomato soup where you roast the tomoatos first and put fresh basil in! mmm. and those stick blendes are so handy!
Cream, Butter and a bit of Parm on top. yummmmm Perfect!!!
Love this recipe thanks for sharing my 3 & 2 year old love it!
Made this for my family - it was so delicious 😋

Over here! I'm the one that is perfectly content with using canned crushed tomatoes for the base. Also, your recipe looks awesome. Thanks.
One of my fave Autumn/Winter Soups! Great job on this recipe...CHEERS!
Made this so many times. Also added some sundried tomatoes into the pre-blend stage and it makes it really rich
Lovely, easy and delicious. I love your cooking.
Looks boss, I'll be spending the last of my tomatoes on this awesome looking recipe.

Very little prep time. You have to wait for the roasting and simmering, but that's easy.
