I'm attempting to Overland the world in my 2012 Land Rover Defender camper
I plan to drive the longest road in the world, the Pan-American highway
but before I shipped my vehicle I took it on a 3 month shakedown trip through Europe and North Africa to test it.
We visited 11 countries and two continents
I'm Currently on continent three North America on my way to Argentina to complete driving the longest road in the world
Beautiful cinematography! I also loved hearing about your time with Bruce and Maureen, they told me all about it. I’m hopeful your vehicle can get the repairs it needs and you can share another video of your journey soon.
@@Jace_C86 thank you, that’s kind of you to say ❤️ they’re so awesome 💪
I’m so sorry that you have vehicle problems and I do hope you can get it all sorted. I discovered your channel a day or two ago and have thoroughly enjoying your videos. Good luck with fixing your Landy.
@@philiplogue2344 thanks Phil, back on the road now 🚙💪 new video next week 🤙
@@wildsouloverlanding That is brilliant news. Can’t wait for your new video already!
Good luck hope all goes well, and you manage to get the problem sorted today .🤞 🐶 ❤. xx
@@terrapin2451 thank you. Yep will be today we know if it’s a sensor problem or something else 😫
I wish you all the best and I hope you get a simple repair!
Would be an idea to pickup a Nanocom (or something similar) to keep in the cubby box. Would be useful to see what the ECU is complaining about.
I really hope it's nothing serious and you will be back on the road soon!
@@LisaTheLandRover thank you ❤️❤️
I wish you all the best with getting your truck sorted and hope you can continue your travels. Love the videos. Good luck.
@@bushydoctor66 thank you 🤙
Best of luck!!
@@efortunywhitton thank you ❤️
I saw you at YVR airport (Vancouver) this morning in traffic. Decided to give you a subscribe!
@@ItsMikeLearns thank you 🙌
Take care both of you, you'll get the Landy fixed I know it 👍
@@frankmorgan9495 🥰
I just priced a Uhaul truck and trailer and it's £245 ($437 Canadian) from Kamloops to Vancouver one way. 418km and 2 days use. Fingers crossed it's the sensor, but if not, tow it to Vancouver and a good specialist. Keep going guys, the videos are just AWESOME. Both me and my 110 beast are jealous we aren't there..!! If you need anything shipped from England, let me know.
@@PaulNunn yep us too 🙌🙌 that’s the way we will do it 🎉🥂💃 thank you for looking so kind of you 💪
Dude you’re a legend 🤙
TH-cam sucks, the last video I saw you guys were in Germany I think, now you're in BC?! Love to see it!
Good luck on fixing your landy . I’ve had both landys and Toyotas both break down , are landy on are overlanding trip out lasted both Toyotas with less miles on them . Basically every over landing rig is going to beak down some time . Daily up keep is the key to long lasting over landing rigs . But both of my rigs landy , and Toyota , we’re awesome over landing set ups . So each to there Owen 😁. Keep your heads up . That’s over landy life . Cheers from Steve Stott in Sutherlin Oregon U.S.A. :):) 🍻👍🏼😁P.S great videos you two hope to see more .😁👍🏼
@@stevestott1514 hey Steve! Hope you’re well. Thank you, booked in at a specialist next week 🚙💪
@@wildsouloverlanding 👍🏼😁
hopefully, it gets fixed fingers crossed.
@@zzoverland thank you. It will it’s just how much 😅
Hope you get sorted and are able to continue 👍👍
@@perrymarc2162 us too 💪
All ok?
@@perrymarc2162 still waiting to get in the garage on Tuesday but thanks to friends we are now in Vancouver 🤙
Good luck👍
Hello again! We are wondering if you made it back to North Vancouver on Monday? Remember we met you up in Kamloops last Wednesday 😊
@@bcgirl9369 hey! We did, thank you 🥰
Sorry to hear this news guys. Fingers crossed it's a simple fix and you can stay positive 🙏
@@alansheach3528 thanks Alan. Will find out tomorrow I guess 🤞
Hope your home wheels is fixable at a reasonable price. Didn’t realise it’s so costly to up keep a Land Rover. Stay positive - just keep getting onto the next day. 👍 Still loving the videos.
@@paulkirkwood2105 thank you Paul, neither did we 🤣
Absolutely amazing nice sound. Guys I recommended you visit the himalayan mountains k2 and Nangaparbat view point from one place moses peak Gilgit-Baltistan Barah Valley. Add this sound in your bucket list.
@@BaltistaniBoys thank you. Oh it’s on the list already 👍
oops thanks for reply. Me and himalayan sounds always welcome you guys thank. Soon I will upload my whole vlog my submitted video of MosesPeak.
Sounds like the copper injector washers (seals). Replace them. This gets misdiagnosed all the time with Pumas, and some garages who don’t know suggest you bin it and get a whole new engine. The part is pennies. Google Puma blowby. Good luck!
@@mattlister1814 thank you sir 🫡 we are booked in at a defender specialist in Vancouver & we’ve now sorted out how to get there cheap 💃🥂🚙
Drone footage at 9:50 is *chefs kiss*
@@AnthonyWilliams-vh1ds lol thanks Anthony 🤙
I play beach volleyball at the spot you’re at. I hope all goes well for you two.
@@AveryBahnsen aww thank you so much. Everyone is super awesome here ❤️ watching you guys play volleyball is like my TV 😅
fingers crossed its just the MAF and you are back on the road again soon
@@Modernwoolfare we will find out tomorrow my friend 🚙🤙🤞
@@wildsouloverlanding also worth checking out Ford garages for repairs as the engine is a Ford Unit assuming it’s Puma??
@@Modernwoolfare yeah puma. The part is coming tomorrow. If it doesn’t fix it I’ll call them. North America garages are usually fully booked up for 2-4 weeks 😅
@@wildsouloverlanding yeah I guess the more remote the less there are resources. Also worth going on any Land Rover Canada forums and asking on there if you haven’t already done so. I really hope you guys get it sorted and adventuring again. Canada looks amazing, long been a dream of mine
@@Modernwoolfare thank you & Canada is stunning 😍🇨🇦
I just saw u guys at the Kamloops overlander beach
Hey, you should of come and said hello
Did the MAF sensor have any effect? Any update on the condition of the Defender?
@@PaulNunn new MAF installed no change at all. Still in this car park 😅
Do these cars have obd2 ports? I always carry a obd2 scanner/reader in-case that gives me some clue as to what is wrong.
@@jareddenning4443 we bought one yesterday 🤙
Have you read the codes? Also do you have a 2.2 or 2.4 Puma?
@@twohoots6858 yeah but it’s not what the codes say it’s something else. 2.2 👍
The sad truth of the Defender is the inevitable breakdown 🥺 Hope it's not too painful on the pocket or for the trip. Maybe try to get your own "code reader" for diagnosis on the road 🤔🥺
@@iamgeoffandthisismystory thank you. Picked one up a few days ago. We hope it’s not too expensive either 😅
Yikes! Didn’t something like this happen to Next.Meridian in Australia? They ended up buying a new engine. I just hope it’s a simple fix for you. 🤞
@@timoplants5869 yep 😢 we get our shipped part tomorrow so hoping it’s just that 🤞
I take it your defender has the ford transit engine in it which isnt the best of the engines sadly.you will get it sorted and also get the word out online for help and even think about (go fund me) to help you guys out with the cost of repairs 👍 remember / dont ask dont get 😉 .good luck guys and wish i was there with my defender 😎
@@keithturnbull4854 yeah transit 😅😅 we will find out on Tuesday hopefully. Thank you 🤙
@@wildsouloverlanding dont give up guys, its all part of the overland adventure and we get through these things 😊
@@keithturnbull4854 thank you. It’s not the giving up it’s the rapid depletion of our bank balance. Nat is going to do a cost video in 2 months
sure you have considered, but maybe get a rental car and a u-haul dolly to bring the Defender to Vancouver? Goodluck.
@@eburn71 looking into that now 🤙
@@eburn71 it’s going to be U-Haul £200 💪
@@eburn71 it’s going to be U-Haul £200 💪
I get the appeal of driving a landrover, especially if you're from Great Britain. But man they like to breakdown. They do have Landcruisers in the EU/GB, even the diesel ones you don't get in the USA.
@@Gerbyq we wanted this roof conversion & at the time of build it was only available one two vehicles. Defender and 70s Land Cruiser which they never sold in the uk 🚙👍
Yeah these are junk vehicles unless you can get a diesel. One of the most unreliable gas engines out there....
Yeah nothing has ever broken on a Toyota🙄🙄🙄
@@Jabber-ig3iw If you're abusing the damn thing sure, but they break down FAR less then vehicles like Land Rover, Jeep, Dodge, GMC (any American), or any Germany vehicle, and that's a fact.
All over the West they are making driving and flying a huge cost, demons! Best of luck with repairs.
@@PaulEdminson thank you 🙌
When Ford bought I to landrover and put there shit Ford transit engine in the defender it was the end of landrover defender
@@robertjones-j8t agreed 😅
And this is a lesson in not buying a reliable vehicle such as Land Rover, no one can work on them in small towns. Japanese is the only way to go for overlander.
Tacoma tundra also f250 chassis
A lot of truth… But they are no where near as cool, and cool is the main thing 😂
@@AnthonyWilliams-vh1ds isn’t a LC78 far cooler?
@@Eddie_-_ if I knew what that was I could decide. But a defender is probably the coolest off-road vehicle there is.
@@AnthonyWilliams-vh1ds sorry for the abbreviation. But look up Landcruiser 78 Troopy.
So sorry to hear of your breakdown. Really hope this is not the end of your travels. We are close to you in BC. Have dropped you a msg on Insta
