- The emperor of a city in China has been longing for a daughter after having fifteen sons over the course of fifteen years. His wife goes into labor and gives birth to the long-awaited princess. Everyone in the palace is over the moon until the head nurse passes out. It turns out the new princess has a disgustingly pungent body odor that can make people unconscious.

As someone who has both a strong body odor and no sense of smell, it felt weird to be able to empathize with both sides of the story. On one hand having no smell sense is good for not having to deal with bad odors(well true that good ones are lost as well but I had it since bornt so, doesnt really matter). On the other one, showers and deodarant are constantly needed, gotta be really careful with that. And really liked that a movie could be done with such ideas. Gonna watch it for sure
ME TOO!!! I lost my sense of smell after I got COVID and haven’t been able to smell ever since but I also have a strong body odor. It’s so cool to know someone else experience this too 😭.
I lost my sense of smell during covid and I was horrified, not only becasue of what you mentioned here, but also, I couldnt smell any oven gases!
I nearly got killed two times, becasue the kettle on the oven, got boiled and poored on the oven and put it out! thank God, I noticed after 1/2 mins and noticed the oven is put off!
so I guess I mean, having no sense of smell, can be more dangerous than you might think!
As you've had it from birth can I ask if theirs any foods you dislike and why?
@@EZ-D-FIANT I am curious about your sense of taste as well. I mean it is strongly connected to smell and I'd guess it's probably limited to sweet, sour, bitter etc. for you.
@@Alinor24 that's why I ask, I have heard about the connections to smell before and am wondering how true and dominant that is, can you taste, is it just the sensations you get (sweet sour spicy ect) or can you actually get flavours too?
I once ate a scotch bonnet raw and after I could barely taste chilli for about 5 years, my entire palette has changed since then I've also noticed my taste change as I mature, I don't know what else I can tell you about my taste but happy to answer questions the main reason I ask is I'm on a personal mission to try and eat more fish, I've litterely curried the frail out of it before, even had my partner slip it in 😏 without me knowing and all sorts yet I still can't get more then two mouthfuls in before urging even if I can't smell it, so I was just wondering how true and acute the smell=taste thing is and as you've never had an ability to smell you seem perfect to answer, I hope you don't mind me asking....
How can the princess spend so much time outside the palace, pretending to be a fisher woman, without the royal family or guards searching for her?
Maybe because she's seperated from the main palace,and since she so smelly she put a maid in her place and nobody bothers to check her face.

the thing is, royals went undercover all the time in china, and frankly probably all over the world. Plus i think the family came to an agreement that she would be better living with smelly fish to fit in instead of making everyone in the palace pass out.

@@Richa_cute yeah eye can imagine them to be sad ,struggling and suicidal.....which is so hilarious. Eye'd also find it funny if they were handicap. Or if they fall. The things people find funny amazes me. Or wouldn't it be great to bully them and tell them just how bad they smell every single day. They don't have feelings because they smell bad for no apparent reason. Everyone should come to your room to bring a plethora of soaps,candles,incense,deodorants,body sprays,shampoos,detergents and disinfectants. So awesomely funny....
The saddest part is people find it funny....or something they can change. We should laugh at them and bully them and snicker behind their backs. Or throw bars of soap them. Or we can try dunking them in a full tub of washing liquid. Or randomly walk by them and spray them with our most expensive perfumes and deodorizers.
The odd thing is, there actually is a rare condition called Trimethylaminuria which is caused by an inability to break down a certain chemical in sweat and other bodily fluids. The smell is said to be similar to, yes, rotting fish. Unfortunately, unlike the movie, flowers and the tears of beautiful women do nothing, as Trimethylaminuria is incurable.
There was a recent trial using activated charcoal and copper chlorophyllin that removed the smell in 85% of participants.

Ages ago, I had a roommate who actually had this B.O. issue! She had unusually thick coarse hairs and plenty of it. Although freshly shaved under her armpits, there would still be a big black patch (of hair follicles under her arms).
She could be freshly showered, but the towel she used to dry herself with, would reek of the bad odor.
Everyone felt so bad for her. But one good thing was, she couldn't smell it! She was immune to her own body odor! So at least she was happy, fine, & had good self confidence 👍.
A tablet of doxycycylin everyday would probably solve her problem... It kills the bacteria that cause bo.

As a person who's sense of smell only works less than 5% of the time, the answer of "who could love this woman?" became clear immediately.

Who wrote this movie, I think he knows very well about science. I mean, the hero of this movie tries multiple times with different techniques to create his invention. This is exactly how nearly every scientist invents their inventions.
