in one mission you have to snipe some guards from their posts with an unsurpressed as-50 so they have the planes fly in really low and you take your shots and the sound from the jets covers the sound
You're 100% correct. A suppressor is ment to contain the gasses that come out of the barrel. That's what actually makes the sound, not the gun. the longer the barrel, the more likely the gasses will cool down and make less noise. But no matter what, you're gonna see or hear a bullt flying past your shoulder
The challenge is basically the same in SEV2. (You can set if you want the wind to affect the bullet and if you want gravity to affect the bullet). Also, you don't get bulletcam everytime you pull the trigger.
No such thing as a SLINCED rifle, its a surpressed rife, most projectiles are supersonic up to and past 1000 yards, which means the bullet is flying faster than the speed of sounds it is also creating a sonic cone as it travels thru the air so when it passes someone, they will hear the bullet, but maybe not the shooter.
My point is game developers can achieve the realism of firing a gun, so it makes the player feel as if they are in control of the gun. That's what I mean, the fact that game developers are able to achieve the sense of control shows that they are achieving some levels of realism, which a lot of people are saying they are not.
No, subsonic will make the initial shot quieter but if that round came anywhere close to you then you would hear it. This is why we train snipers not to miss :P
I'm w/ you homie! Sniper battles consist of trying to find each other. That's what's fun in these games. Back in the ps2 days of MOH multiplayer I used to love split screening and having a "sniper" battle when there were only two of us. Its a challenge or puzzle when you have to figure out how the hell to cross that field when someone's got ya covered completely. The ghillie suits in this game make it even MORE fun. camping...ha. like I say I'm with you. it works yo. real life strategy.
By "realism" people mean physics wise, for example, bullet drop. People don't want to experience emotional trauma from the disappearance of a few pixels, they want to become more immersed and feel like they're in a battle, and games like BF3 do capture that. No game can capture the emotional trauma that's experienced in war, but they can achieve what it's like to fire a gun, which is what people want. And lets not forget, it's still a game, it's meant to be fun, not emotionally traumatising.
Yeah over all, they stepped a hell of a lot up on this game. I got it the day it came out and im loving it. Its just a lot more smoother, and I don't even get bullet cams too much. But when I do, they're really clean and smooth. So im not as disappointed any more
Yes they can, they can implement bullet drop, accuracy, rapid fire, recoil and many other traits which force the player to be precise with the gun. But again they can't implement what it feels like such as the push back on your shoulder, the ringing in your ears or the smell of burning gun powder after a shot (I have fired many guns). Game developers don't just make up what it's like to fire a gun, they do hire experts, DICE hired, I think, members of the Navy Seals or the SAS.
Well actually, there are controllers shaped like guns that can give you force feedback and have precise aiming with realistic gun sounds (not like the shitty ones you get from cheap plastic toys). They add to the realism, so the game provides the sense of firing a gun, and the controller adds to the feeling of firing a gun. I think they use the same design as steering wheel controllers such as the g27. So if you have the controller it adds to the feeling of firing a gun, but that's up to you.
Yep but unless your a gaming engineer i dont think you could find any glitches if you tried... I played through the whole game 3 times and didnt notice much except for a few A.I. getting stuck while running but this time they built the A.I. from scratch and they have to flank there way towards you before they can shoot you. Also you can play this game stealthy even in the 1st one. Just avoiding enemies and not shooting them is stealthy. Also there is a knife animation which is very cool also.
to make it more interesting, make the enemy communicate between each other... so when someone got killed, it will increase awareness and searching for you... its more fun and exciting this way
yea, i kno, like i said ''the one who was interviewed said that in diffrent modes (easy medium hard) the wind and physics are harder also, i just hope he was playing ultra easy or something....'' and i hav bn waiting for something like this for a long time, so i hope its good, i didnt play SE 1, i red about it and got to know that NPCs could spot you through trees and bushes and stuff, so i didnt bother getting it, but i really hope they make this one worth cheking out.
Actually, people make a lot of confusion between Camping and Hiding. Hiding, is being in a place where enemies don't see you where you get a vantage point being a sniper to help your squad in a real battlefield. Camping is being in a dark place or a place that blends with your clothes somewhere where a lot of people go through and farm kills easily. Camping is something that doesn't exist in an actual war and started to exist with FPS games. Hiding is an actual tactic used by snipers.
First of all, I have played the first Sniper: Ghost Warrior and it is realistic enough that it makes you think strategy wise how to get past all the enemies and kill them without being spotted. Second of all, it would be by the same people who created the first Sniper: Ghost Warrior game. Third, if you have played realism games before and you know guns, then you should know that there is know way CoD is realistic with their weapons. I also do understand that people have their own opinions.
Yes, because it's harder to detect people in dark places or in places that usually go unnoticed in the videogame, because in real life we're more perceptive, we look at those places faster, before he has time for shooting us, there aren't no soldiers in real wars who do camping.
You got me wrong. What I'm saying is that in an actual war it's impossible to see somenone sit in a dark place and not be noticed, this is a tactic that was born in FPS games, but hiding is classical at war.
The thing with V2's bullet cam is that it definitely will take longer for it to get old. I mean, I have played the demo like 20 times already and it hasn't got old yet.
It depends on the mission they are supporting and if the battalion commander needs hard eyes on intel for whatever the reason. 99% of of their job is watching and reporting. But yes they can and do operate behind enemy lines on a regular basis as well as being attached to friendly patrols as a long range asset providing over watch.
Possible, but another possible reason is that the first game had some very annoying glitches (some were fixed by patches, but others persisted). Also, the multiplayer was rubbish because everyone just camped and waited for someone to get bored and venture out into the open. Judging by what's been said in this video, it sounds like these niggles have been addressed. Maybe this is the sniper-dedicated game that people have been truly waiting for.
(Cont.) On BF3 the zoom is wrong... but where BF3 gains truly (beside great graphics and on-line team work) it's in sound, truly magnificent. I've got astray there sorry... By the way Hitman Absolution as scoped zoom correctly but in the end of it's trailer when it's pouring out, the crowd hasn't got one single umbrella. This is also a critic! But I think that HA as SGW2 will be very good games! In my point of view constructive critics can make us evolve in some aspects of our life/work.
Impossible to beat? You want a realistic game? Have you ever been in the army? When you are fighting beside with your squad mates and they die thats just another day in the army. They go through so much which is why i respect them so much. If they die can you imagine what them and there families go through? ppl call BF3 "realistic" but it seems no one seems to capture the story aspect of the game. That is why im super excited for MoH: Warfighter.
Remember those gamefly commercials with the kids going berserk and tearing apart their apartment after playing a crap game, that was me after Sniper Ghost warrior
This game is trying to be ultra-realistic. Its a mix between realism and fun. Your not going to stare at a screen for 24 hours in the same spot to get 1 kill. Also there is a custom option to choose if you want bullet drop, wind speed, ext. Also the larger levels will be more difficult to kill people this is a very small level
For the GAME because it's a GAME and not a book or a movie but a GAME for FUN through PLAY. I don't play tf2 for the plot or the lore, nor do I play many other games. I played San Andreas to have fun and mess around because of the GAME aspect.
Why won't there be anyone using snipers in the CQ DLC? Also Sniping in FPS games aren't always meant for long distance, in terms of CoD it's meant for medium distance because there really are no long distances. Also in BF3 snipers are good at any range as long as you know how to use it.
i think in general it's because they are going to be a few hit titles following up the rest of the year and mid next year..I for one am looking forward to Halo 4, no matter what anyone says about, it's a game i will be playing till the next gen console.
I like how everyone thinks sniper are just supposed to shoot from a distance at people. The majority of it is actually recon, gathering intel on enemy movement and manpower.
If a real bullet miss you ..... trust me , you will hear it -_- no matter if weapon is silenced ... the bullet is going pretty fast so it makes a pretty loud sound ...
yea the training is incredibly tough and most people can't pull it off, they're are more divisions then just the marines, rangers, delta, the ones with the hardest training besides the Russian Spetsnaz would be the SEALs. I f they put the training into the games people would complain, mostly the 12-15 year olds who think COD is the real deal.
well i bought sniper elite v2 and its pretty sick just like this game with bullet killcams and what not just set in ww2 if you l;ike ghost warrior you will love sniper elite v2
@ JeppeGutt I wasn't expecting much out of Ghost Warrior, but I wound up loving it. And I agree with brendan888123 when it comes to getting the perfect headshot. Trying to line up that little nearly-impossible-to-see red dot with someone's head at 335 yards after sprinting(which causes the red dot to flip out) is a challenge. And watching that bullet leave the barrell of your rifle in slo-mo and fly through your target's head gives you quite a rush.
I not only found fault with dozens of friends and forum complaining about the AI shooting at you from behind, beyond the stage that night was highly criticized. I am a player very attentive to detail. but with this game you do not need to be aware, just realize that you play dozens of glitches. fps low budget does not have so many glitches.
yeah, but still. bioshock is essentially 30 bucks on steam if all the preorders get realized and you don't have them already. That, and there's other titles coming out around the same time.
some games you play for the story. Some games you play for action. Racing games dont have stories but there still fun. Although i like Medal of Honor for gameplay and the story. Mass effect and borderlands is also good
Actually no. Sniper Elite was developed by Rebellion and distributed by Namco. Sniper: Ghost Warrior is both developed and distributed by City Interactive. Also, your use of sponsor is incorrect.
Exactly...thanks for that comment...! It's what true B-4's do...take their time and wait for days even weeks for that one-shot-one-kill scenario....even in this game, I will take my time as the game permits...!
There isnt a spotter in SE2 but there is in SGW2. There was one in SGW1 also although in this one you will still have a spotter although you will have binoculars yourself. Coop is returning and hopefully 1 will be the spotter and 1 will be the sniper.
So rare to hear of a sniper game to say "take it slow"....something todays games seem to know nothing about. Glad this isn't some cheesy COD style gameplay.
the game itself look pretty good, i always want to play a sniper similator and cod, bf3, alot of game does not full fill my wish. since all the people know how to quick scope or too hard to predict movement
hes talking about the campaign mission in the first modern warfare where u snipe zakhaev thats the only time in cod where the sniper bullet is affected by wind and bullet drop
I recommend not generalizing the military and snipers as classes. If you want to play as a soldier or 'military class' person, play COD or BF3 or any other type of FPS game like those. You forget that this is dedicated to SNIPING like Texy88 said before. And when you said that this game has no meaning of stealth: snipers ARE essentially the soldiers who use stealth to take down enemies on the field. Snipers should go by this saying: "The last thing you never see" (Fallout: New Vegas)
This game will not function well on-line because everyone will get astray from the game purpose that is to be a sniper, be stealthy, to now your surroundings and use it to your advantages. Only if they implement massive game points to the stealth player it will become a great on-line sniper game. The zoom in scope isn't that great because with DX10/11 it can be easily done. And a great game is the one that emerges the player virtually to it's surroundings. Sure it's not that important but...
Read up on snipers in nam this dude took two days crawling to his target so yeah snipers move slow. I can't remember the title but it's an interesting look into real life snipers
I wonder how it'll stack up against sniper elite version 2 thats more cinematic than this especially with each shot no matter where you shoot at but to me sniper V2 has this genre in the bag if you ask me
You're the kind of gamer who likes to be rewarded and reassured constantly with unlock systems and super twitch gameplay, but some would rather be rewarded for being patient and intelligent. Plus if you make the sniping easy like this game, kills are not rewarding, they're just meaningless and just 'another kill' to continue the game. And before you have a go at me, I was simply answering the question you asked to Neywell7, I wasn't implying anything...
I know that, im just saying its really cool. And I love to see where I hit the enemy. I get there is few sniper games and they should all be different. I was just stating an opinion that's all. And I hate "Sniper Elite" games so I want the cool features in the one I like.
I'm not tickled by your response to my provocation, I think the game is OK I haven't played the first one because my PC wouldn't run it. But I tried it on a PC of one of my friends... The AI wasn't good... actually not very good at all for a sniper game... BUT we are talking about S2 and I hope they solved these problems, graphically I hope It'll be better and this is one of the aspects I was criticizing, BF3 as the same error and I also criticize it AND I play it a lot on-line.
Considering it had a short development time, a rather inexperienced team, and a low budget? I'd say you got a dam fine product considering the circumstances. Still better than the last 3 Call of Duty games, better sniper action than Battlefield 3, and best of all no "quickscoping". You do that in Ghost Warrior you get shat on, hard. It's $30 on games on demand on XBL, for that price if people still payed multiplayer, and a sequel wasn't out tomorrow, I'd recommend it. Don't be so quick to judge.
since when did we start talking about FC3? It dosnt run on the Crytek engine derp. Ummm ik COD didnt start the unlock system but why would talk about an unlock system when most ppl know that COD mastered the unlock system. Also FC3 is not an arcade shooter... Just because a game dosnt have realism in it dosnt mean its like some mario game its actually still called this thing "FPS". Also apparently a non-linear game just has to be a game with open spaced with no detailed objects at all. Nice.
That's exactly what he said -_-. except he remembered that there is a moment in the campaign where you have to snipe one guy from distance and take these things into account.
o.o yh look at the texture quality through a 720p converted video file that is uploaded to youtube. It doesn't matter if the game runs off the same engine. To get graphics like this you need a dedicated team pt put in the textures and time. Crysis looks awesome because of the hardware and power they have to play with. Until I see it through my PC/Console I will be the judge of the graphics not a video file.
soz about se1. and its true this is not gonna b ultra realistic. there aint no such thing as an ultra realistic shooter, yet at least. and yes, such thing would be quite boring, if u had to wait hours for your target to appear and hours for your enemies to stop looking for you and so on. what i meant is that, a spotter would b nice, for exmpl in online game. and a kill cam system or any of the sort is just stupid in any shooter. a game is fun if its challenging, not if its done easy in purpose
in one mission you have to snipe some guards from their posts with an unsurpressed as-50 so they have the planes fly in really low and you take your shots and the sound from the jets covers the sound

finally, a video with an ad that actually relates to the video I am watching
No, subsonic will make the initial shot quieter but if that round came anywhere close to you then you would hear it. This is why we train snipers not to miss :P

Dice did a great job with all of the sounds in BF3 no doubt about that.. every gun is loud and harsh. no other game does that
to make it more interesting, make the enemy communicate between each other... so when someone got killed, it will increase awareness and searching for you... its more fun and exciting this way

no, i mean it usually starts in the 360, thne gets ported to ps3 ,then pc gets a port. it usually goes in that order but some companies dont.
The thing with V2's bullet cam is that it definitely will take longer for it to get old.
I mean, I have played the demo like 20 times already and it hasn't got old yet.
Damn straight man! I'm glad to see someone is on my side. Too many people out there cannot understand the simple facts.
Graphics make a game more appealing and easy on the eyes to play, therefore making a more enjoyable experience when teamed with great graphics.
in the campaign of cod4 there is a sniping mission where there is bullet drop and wind resistance and stuff so you are wrong
Actually, CryEngine 3 and Frostbite 2 are on par, it just depends on how the developers choose to use them.

SGW1 was pretty cool. Multiplayer was alright but I like how it was mostly snipers and bullet cam
yea, you don't hold your breath you release your breath and fire between heartbeats
I don't get why people say "Graphics don't make the game".
Yes it fucking does, it's an important part of the game and it definitely makes it better.
DICE probably nailed firing a gun the best out of all the games I have seen.
It's not a silencer, it's a suppressor, don't expect that they won't hear you
Remember those gamefly commercials with the kids going berserk and tearing apart their apartment after playing a crap game, that was me after Sniper Ghost warrior
OMFG YOU HAVE SHOWN THIS GAMPLAY LIKE MILION TIMES!!!
MW has one of the best storyline in FPS games
There is no demo, what he is talking about is the demostration that is being showed, the game will not be out until 21 of August 2012.
also the bullet in Sniper Elite V2 is more realistic a bit damaged or however you wanna call it
This game is trying to be ultra-realistic. Its a mix between realism and fun. Your not going to stare at a screen for 24 hours in the same spot to get 1 kill. I have black ops 2 but i truly cannot wait for this game. COD and BF3 doesn't really represent true sniping, this does a much better job.

@ JeppeGutt I wasn't expecting much out of Ghost Warrior, but I wound up loving it. And I agree with brendan888123 when it comes to getting the perfect headshot. Still looks like a great game tho
Gotta love how the hand models/textures change between gameplay and cutscene. Nice way to ruin immersion ;)
i cant resist sniper games
The graphics look GOOD. Which seems near impossible for console.

Thats what friends and the internet is for. Make your own story!
Do subsonic rounds help with the sound of a travelling bullet? They could be using that but i still doubt that it would make no noise what so ever.
It starts at 1:25
hes talking about the campaign mission in the first modern warfare where u snipe zakhaev thats the only time in cod where the sniper bullet is affected by wind and bullet drop
snipers dont camp. snipers just snipe. they are designed to provide supportive fire from a long distance

Gameplay starts at 1:30 :D
The fact that there is no bullet drop or wind and height effects completely defeats the purpose of this being a sniping game... At least for me.
did you see the MoH E3 demo yet? looks badass go check it out!
lol sure. Enemies inbound! I have a family and they love me! *dies* teammates: Nooooooo!!!
I know that, im just saying its really cool. And I love to see where I hit the enemy. I get there is few sniper games and they should all be different. I was just stating an opinion that's all. And I hate "Sniper Elite" games so I want the cool features in the one I like.
I'm liking this game, but I have they have a mode that takes into account environmental factors. That will definitely be a true sniper's game!
Consoles have such old hardware. They're stuck at set graphics. This actually looks good. I wasn't saying PC is so much better than console.
I got an ad of Sniper: Ghost Warrior 2 on this video.
@oneinter agreed! Sniper elite v2 will crush this. I think it has more factors and possibilities. I bet you can't throw rocks in this game xD
o.o yh look at the texture quality through a 720p converted video file that is uploaded to youtube. It doesn't matter if the game runs off the same engine. To get graphics like this you need a dedicated team pt put in the textures and time. Crysis looks awesome because of the hardware and power they have to play with. Until I see it through my PC/Console I will be the judge of the graphics not a video file.
you should also see your legs when you vault over objects
soz about se1. and its true this is not gonna b ultra realistic. there aint no such thing as an ultra realistic shooter, yet at least. and yes, such thing would be quite boring, if u had to wait hours for your target to appear and hours for your enemies to stop looking for you and so on. what i meant is that, a spotter would b nice, for exmpl in online game. and a kill cam system or any of the sort is just stupid in any shooter. a game is fun if its challenging, not if its done easy in purpose
Sniper elite is in world war 2, and Ghost warrior 2 is set in the modern day.
i liked the begging in the train i thought it was pretty cool. I mean it wasnt bad it just lacks the hilarious characters from BFBC2
lol, Its ok..just repost it towards him because you made a great point.
