Hi everyone, This video was recorded about a month ago, so apologies that I need to do this in a TH-cam comment. One of the most difficult comments I’ve ever had to write. I’m afraid this is the last episode of Firearms Expert Reacts. Due to changes at the company, myself and the team are being made redundant as part of those changes, this is the final episode. After 200 episodes, I just want to say it has been an absolute blast creating this series and sharing it with you all. From the classic games and modern releases, and both the realistic and wonderfully cursed ones. I believe I speak for both the Expert Reacts team of Adam, Chris and myself, as well as Jonathan Ferguson (the keeper of firearms and artillery at the Royal Armouries museum in the UK which houses thousands of iconic weapons from throughout history), all of the other wonderful people at The Royal Armouries, and the other experts that we’ve had the honor of working with over these past few years when I say, thank you! Every hour watched, every comment left, every Tweet, every Reddit post, every piece of fan art, every time someone in an online lobby came up to me and said “hey aren’t you the guy who shows Jonathan all those guns?” really has meant a heck of a lot. While I know many of you may feel frustrated or disappointed that these changes have affected content you’ve enjoyed for so long, please do be considerate with your comments, and be kind and supportive to my friends and former colleagues that are still working hard at GameSpot. They're still doing great, valuable work, all while going through their challenges of their own, and I hope you will continue to support them, and the channel. Be sure to continue supporting the great work The Royal Armouries are doing, and you can always come back here and watch your favorite episode. I’ll happily chat in the comments, or you can find me across social media under “IrregularDave”. Looked forward to this series every Saturday. And it was one of my frequent ‘comfort’ shows to go back to. Without this show, there is no longer any reason for me to subscribe to GameSpot, and I no longer am. I would love to see this come back in some form, maybe on the Royal Armories channel (FYI, I subscribed to that channel because of this show).
bruh, cant believe they are killing the only thing keeping the channel afloat (just look at the numbers, expert reacts always got significantly more views than anything else). absolute self inflicted gunshot wound

This series is just about the only thing I watch from Gamespot. Firearms expert reacts' view count is much higher than just about any other video on the channel. Disappointed and a bit confused to see Dave, Jonathan and the team go, you guys did an excellent job on the series. If you guys are able to spin off into an independent channel, I would absolutely be there to keep watching!
Instead of focusing on the negatives, I would like to say, thanks to Firearm Experts react team for showing off cool guns and their real-world counterparts (or at least as close as possible). Best of luck in your future endeavours, especially Dave. Also I love you Jonathon and will continue to enjoy your other content.
This always should have been either on the royal armouries channel or an independent thing with you both. Hope it continues. Gamespot never did deserve the credit for this series anyway. Also the format is way too generic for Gamespot to claim they own the premise anyway. Should definitely go independent.
gamespot really dropped the ball with ending their best series, no idea why they thought that was a good idea. o7 major respect to Dave and Jonathan Ferguson (the keeper of firearms and artillery at the Royal armouries museum in the UK) for giving us such an amazing series!
What an honour to be their last game featured. A tragedy as the series was a must-watch. Jonathan enjoys SOG Prairie Fire and we’ll take him out on a few missions in future - expect a video or two of that. We’ll see about getting Dave in too.
I’ll miss you, Johnathan Ferguson keeper of firearms and artillery at the royal armories museum. But you weren’t just the keeper of firearms and artillery. You were the keeper of joy and love in my heart. And the keeper of happiness and knowledge.
And with this there is no reason to stay subscribed to Gamespot, dave's videos were the only thing I wanted from you and know there will never be anymore of them
No disrespect to Gamespot staff, but Dave and Jonathon should take the bones of this show and put it on it's own channel. It's pretty clear from the comments this series is the primary reason we even watch Gamespot. You 100% have our support doing this on your own!
Always wanted to ask who the reactor was....Who is this? What does he do? Where does he do it? In which part of the world? What does his establishment do? What time frame is it focused on? Now we have these answers. Thanks for this series Dave and Jonathan
GameSpot are literally allergic to making sensible decisions, not only is this series analytically leading the channel but it literally has game developers watching along. Honestly if you can run the most popular series and be made redundant then I feel sorry for anyone still working at gamestop as it must be clear right now there's 0 job security there. But hey that's Fandom for you- I literally never hear anything positive about them.
Thanks for the memories Dave and Jonathan. Gamespot just killed the single series keeping them relevant. Guess we’ll never see that Snake Eater episode now. Gutted.
Dave, as everyone has mentioned, go independent and continue the show. The weekly show would be Expert Reacts, and during the week you could do vids of you and your team capturing footage for Jonathan, and you could do streams where the audience suggests things from the game to ask Jonathan about. Could even do streams with Jonathan where he does some live reactions and Q&A. Maybe after an expert reacts vid, do a stream where Jonathan answers questions about the game he just reacted to.
So sad this is the end. Glad we got the news but this series deserves a proper send off as well. Thank y'all for everything and best wishes in your endeavors.
And with this bombshell, I’ve unsubscribed from Gamespot. Firearms Expert Reacts was my favourite weekly show. I watched each episode the day it was uploaded. It inspired me to travel to the UK from Canada in October 2022 to visit the Royal Armouries Museum, and to buy a copy of Jonathan’s book on Bullpup Firearms while I was there. I knew something was off when an episode wasn’t uploaded last week. I’m heartbroken to see that Gamespot doesn’t value this show the way we the fans do. Dave and Jonathan, if you’re reading this, please please please consider taking the format independently, and let us know how to find you next. If you guys were to run a Patreon I would subscribe to it in a heartbeat!!!!!

Nooo! I don't want this show to end. Every saturday is Firearms Expert Reacts-day! I hope Jonathan can continue somethig similiar on the Royal Armouries channel. Thanks for all the content, Dave.
Day 30(!!!) of asking Jonathan Ferguson, the Keeper of… Argh, forget it. It’s so sad to see the end of this series. It brought me great joy, and really helped me learn more about firearms. I hope maybe we’ll see more one day.. I really think Jonathan would have loved to see the guns of “Receiver 2”.
This is actually the second time I’ve seen you reply to one of my comments, first time was under the Resident Evil: Village episode. Ever since I’ve really wanted to visit the Royal Armouries museum; perhaps in the summer
No word of a lie, I wasn't really into firearms at all until I chanced on this series. Now I subscribe to the Royal Armouries, Forgotten Weapons and others! It's far too good to disappear completely..
I love your guys videos and although I’m not subbed to the channel I deliberately look up these videos every week to watch them. I remember watching Cunk on Earth with my girlfriend and when Jonathan came on screen I was like “I’ve seen that guy! That’s Jonathan Ferguson, keeper of firearms and artillery at the royal armouries museum in the UK which houses thousands of iconic weapons throughout history.” I think these videos are fantastic and was really looking forward to the Black Ops 6 video. Hello there, Jonathan Ferguson, keeper of Firearms and Artillery at the Royal Armouries Museum, which houses a collection of thousands of iconic weapons from throughout history!
I rarely comment on TH-cam but this series has been my Saturday go to for years. Dave and Jonathan - great job and appreciate all the hours of entertainment.

Do you think his parents named him *Jonathan Fergurson, keeper of firearms and artillery at the Royal Armouries Museum in the UK which houses a collection of thousands of iconic weapons from throughout history.* Like Michael Jordan's parents naming him after a shoe?
Dave I want to first of say thank you, you have brought years of great videos making my Saturdays ( and Sundays with load-out) better and wish all the best with whatever you do next, On the real I think going your own and having a black ops 6 episode and me and the fellow fans will follow But if this is the last, thank you for all you and Johnathan Ferguson (keeper of firearms and artillery at the Royal Armouries Museum in the Uk which houses thousands of iconic weapons from throughout history) have done and wish you the best mate.
I do hope this isn't the last time I hear "This is Jonathan Ferguson, the Keeper of Firearms and Artillery at the Royal Armories Museum in the UK, which houses a collection of thousands of iconic weapons from throughout history." It was cool being introduced to Jonathan, and when Dave started taking a more active role in the show and it became a bit more of a back and forth it only improved it further. The two of you became a bit of an iconic duo, and I hope Dave and Jon will continue to collaborate in the future when I've returned to forgetting Gamespot is a thing, even if circumstance necessitate a more casual video format. Dave, I wish you and your video team the best, though thankfully talented video production folk are always going to be needed in this day and age.
If nothing else we'll get Dave on as a guest. I'm here if he wants to get something similar on the go but his wellbeing and career comes first of course. Thank you for watching :)
Back in high school, we had a couple of Vietnam veterans come in while we were covering the war in class, to get their perspectives on things. I was interested and followed up with them again at a later date. One of the guys was SOG who served '67 to '68. I saw on his wall a photograph from his days in SOG, and it showed his own take on an RPD. From what I remember, it's set up similarly to El Cid, but he had taken the extra step of cutting and sanding down the buttstock to fit into an improvised BAR-style cup that I assume he fabricated himself, and instead of using the handguard, he wrapped and tied an extra long of piece of cloth around it, and used it as a grip and a sling to provide walking suppressive fire in the event of contact. With how uncontrollable that sounds, I believe he only used it in quick bursts.
Thank you so much gentlemen for putting together such a great series. Always looked forward to waking up on the weekend and watching an episode with my morning coffee. Hope you can keep the concept going in the future.
I haven't gone through many comments, but maybe Dave and the team can try to work with the Gamology channel. They make very similar videos on weapons etc. As it is, I'm sure if you guys joined up with them, we'd all be happy and then Gamespot can watch and pine for the good old days of um, this year I guess. Shame Fandom decided this was a team/content they could cut and not see pretty big push back from the userbase. But, alas, Fandom has been doing this for a while now, what with the Gamespot and Giantbomb layoffs over and over again. What a shame really.
Thank you so much Dave, this series has been a massive comfort watch for me and I’m really sad to see it go. Hope you get picked up by people that deserve you.
This video is already has more views than 90% of the last 30 videos on this channel. Its insanely impressive they justify firing the team behind the best performing series on the channel. Like it isn't even close. Most of their over vids get around 10k whereas these vids are always 100k+. Its just insanely short sighted
When I'm in a stupidest choice contest and my opponent is GameSpot Best of luck to you Jonathan Ferguson the keeper of firearms and artillery at the royal armouries museum
The RPD Shorty is one of the most fun guns in any game. Being able to just hose down the jungle to get fire superiority is fantastic. Its even somewhat usable at 250+ ranges. We have done so many ops where I ended up down to my last belt, firing single shots, while holding out for a chopper pick up. Prairie Fire is an excellent expansion, they really did a good job.
How about trying to contact the channel "Second Wind" they just recently got one show, I am sure they would love another, and mostly the same audience.
I'm sure that contractually you can't say anything, but truly hope you and Johnathan Ferguson, keeper of firearms and artillery at The Royal Armouries museum in the UK, which houses thousands of iconic weapons from throughout history keep experts react (Or a "Knock off") going on the Royal Armouries channel. Whatever happens I wish you the best, this series has been so fun to watch, And i was eager awaiting the BO6 Video.
Please let the Royal Armouries hire Dave on a freelance basis for their channel. The audience will follow for sure! Hands down the best expert react series going and will only be a benefit for the armouries!
This is pretty easily the most successful original content GameSpot does on TH-cam, I don't know by what logic this series is being discontinued. Absolutely baffling.
@@nathanpapp432 It's not. It's because Fandom enacted a huge restructure and had yet another round of layoffs, which included the three guys that made this series. No creators - no series :(

Never watched this channel outside of these videos, such a shame the series is ending, at least ending here. Hopefully Dave can make a spiritual successor on his own! Best of luck in future endeavors Dave!
Without this show there’s no point in staying subbed to this channel
Companies really do anything to make it worse for the consumer
For real.
RIP the Valkyria Chronicles guy
I literally learned some basic Blender to try and get some good shots of those weapon models!
Oh man thats sad. it would have been so great hearing about jonathans reaction to the anti tank lances.
@@gegeji6442 Literally my thought. We need to see this
also his reaction to where the weapon upgrades go
and the MGS3 guy
Poor fella.
Dave, just do the Escapist/Second Wind model and make your own channel with the exact same content but on your own terms. We'd all watch it! If not, thank you all so much!
His channel description says be back soon and the banner says under construction... keep your eyes on it, I'm sure we'll see these two back together soon
If that happens, please respond to this comment again. I wouldn't want to miss it.
Same here
Just unsubscribed. Dave and expert reacts were the only reason to ever sub to the channel.
true. expert reacts is literally a new high on yt since gaming is connecting with real world and EXPERTISE. its laughable these clowns at gamespot thought "ok we made bags of money , now lets fire them"
@@ImotekhtheStormlord-tx2itThing is it probably wasn’t making them bags of money if they aren’t continuing it. Probably restructuring the company and scaling back.

Snap!! And followed Daves channel in the hope he does it independently
@@Israel_hanswhat's daves channel?
I'm not a Gamespot subscriber (and certainly won't be now) but I have been an avid watcher of this series for a while, looking forward to a new episode every Saturday, so I'm gutted it's all over. A bonkers decision and one they'll regret. Thanks Dave, Jonathan and everyone else involved in making these videos happen, they've been as informative as they are entertaining.
Welp, there goes the only reason I watched GameSpot
Thank you Dave, thank you Mr. "Keeper of Firearms and Artillery at the Royal Armouries museum in the UK which houses thousands of iconic weapons from throughout history", thank you expert react team Adam and Chris, thank you to everyone who donated all the stuff to Royal Armoury museum.
I hope we can meet again, somewhere.
Oh and no thanks to you Mr. "bad decision maker person from gamespot"
Borderline heartbroken. This series is genuinely one of my favorites, and one of the biggest reasons i looked forward to Saturdays
Thank you so much for subscribing. I will advise there as and when any gaming content (hopefully with Dave) returns.
bruh, cant believe they are killing the only thing keeping the channel afloat (just look at the numbers, expert reacts always got significantly more views than anything else).
absolute self inflicted gunshot wound
the other expert react was even bigger at some point (the one with swords, armors etc) bcuz it was about more niche games.
I'm going to miss this series, I really enjoyed watching these. Thank you Johnathan and Dave for for making these as long as you did.
This won't be the last episode of Expert Reacts. It'll just be the last one worth watching. Gamespot will find someone who doesn't understand at all why we like this series and they'll rip the heart out of it
From my understanding of things, I really doubt they'll try to keep it going.
@jonathanferguson1211 Didn't expect to get a reply from you. But considering how many other channels have tried the same thing, and failed miserably every time, like WTF1, I wouldn't be surprised
@@filmandfirearms The restructure and change in channel 'strategy' kind of precludes it. Or they wouldn't have let these guys go in the first place. You've probably seen what sort of content has been on here lately.
@@jonathanferguson1211 Honestly I’m kinda happy this series doesn’t continue without Dave on here. He’s such a core part of these videos ❤
@@jonathanferguson1211Thanks for taking the time to visit comments on videos. It’s a shame to see this series end, but it was a good run. I hope the RA channel keeps up its various series. Y’all have lots of history and heart that’s a joy to watch.
The only content I watched of this channel, and they cancel it. Smh
Imagine finally scraping an inch of relevancy after years of no one caring about your company, only to fire the guy who brought you that success
What a shame, I'll miss these a lot. They had become a standard part of my Saturday morning routine
Sorry to hear that Dave. You and Jonathan should just keep it going yourselves on the Royal Armouries channel.
Great way to end the series on Arma 3 which I've been asking for a follow up on since the last video!
Isn’t ending this series kinda Gamespot shooting themselves in the foot?
Pun intended
Instead of focusing on the negatives, I would like to say, thanks to Firearm Experts react team for showing off cool guns and their real-world counterparts (or at least as close as possible).
Best of luck in your future endeavours, especially Dave. Also I love you Jonathon and will continue to enjoy your other content.
Thank you!
This always should have been either on the royal armouries channel or an independent thing with you both. Hope it continues. Gamespot never did deserve the credit for this series anyway. Also the format is way too generic for Gamespot to claim they own the premise anyway. Should definitely go independent.
💯
gamespot really dropped the ball with ending their best series, no idea why they thought that was a good idea. o7 major respect to Dave and Jonathan Ferguson (the keeper of firearms and artillery at the Royal armouries museum in the UK) for giving us such an amazing series!
What an honour to be their last game featured. A tragedy as the series was a must-watch. Jonathan enjoys SOG Prairie Fire and we’ll take him out on a few missions in future - expect a video or two of that. We’ll see about getting Dave in too.
Put me in, coach!
I'm glad it even lasted as long as it did. Thank you Dave, Jonathan and everyone else on the team for the fun videos!
I’ll miss you, Johnathan Ferguson keeper of firearms and artillery at the royal armories museum. But you weren’t just the keeper of firearms and artillery. You were the keeper of joy and love in my heart. And the keeper of happiness and knowledge.
And with this there is no reason to stay subscribed to Gamespot, dave's videos were the only thing I wanted from you and know there will never be anymore of them
Thank you for all the amazing episodes Dave and Jonathan! Really hoping the show might get revived in some way on some other channel.
No disrespect to Gamespot staff, but Dave and Jonathon should take the bones of this show and put it on it's own channel.
It's pretty clear from the comments this series is the primary reason we even watch Gamespot. You 100% have our support doing this on your own!
Gamespot ruining themselves for no reason was not on my 2024 bingo card. They’re nothing without Dave and this series
Thank you so much for your support. I'm open to anything Dave or Dave and his former colleagues would like to propose.
Thank you Dave, Jonathan and everyone else involved in this great series. There goes my Gamespot subscription
Sad to see the end to this incredible series
Hope the best for our giat dave and Jonathan furgueson the keeper of firearms and artillery at the royal armies museum in the uk, which houses a collection of thousands of iconic firearms through history
Nooo! I don't want this show to end. Every saturday is Firearms Expert Reacts-day! I hope Jonathan can continue somethig similiar on the Royal Armouries channel. Thanks for all the content, Dave.
I had lots of fun with the show! Thanks for everything you guys did. I hope you take the show independent.
I would - it's on my to-play list.
@jonathanferguson1211 oh, I’m so happy to see my hard 30-week work has finally paid off! I bet you’ll enjoy the attention to detail!
This is actually the second time I’ve seen you reply to one of my comments, first time was under the Resident Evil: Village episode. Ever since I’ve really wanted to visit the Royal Armouries museum; perhaps in the summer
@@analizin Leeds is definitely more presentable in the summer lol
I’ll keep that in mind lols
Thank you so mush Jonathan (Dave and team) for a wonderful series!
Well Dave it's time to bring this series to your channel!
No word of a lie, I wasn't really into firearms at all until I chanced on this series. Now I subscribe to the Royal Armouries, Forgotten Weapons and others! It's far too good to disappear completely..
I’ve clicked the “do not recommend channel” after I got the news. Shame on you GameStop.
Thanks for everything and next time I’m in the UK I’ll try to visit the museum!
Hello there, Jonathan Ferguson, keeper of Firearms and Artillery at the Royal Armouries Museum, which houses a collection of thousands of iconic weapons from throughout history!
Hello :)
I rarely comment on TH-cam but this series has been my Saturday go to for years. Dave and Jonathan - great job and appreciate all the hours of entertainment.
Well...there's no reason to be subscribed anymore so yeah, cya GameSpot. It's been a blast! Big thanks to the whole firearms expert reacts team for bringing us one of the best series on TH-cam!
So glad you did a little review for this great game and it’s authenticity! The developers deserve it.
We didn't get the part 2 of the stalker video!!!!? Noooooo
Literally the only gamespot show i watched. I'm usually not much for reaction stuff but the GS series is so incredible well made and managed to find such interesting expert to talk to.
I wish you all good luck and thank you for literal years of entertainment.
Do you think his parents named him *Jonathan Fergurson, keeper of firearms and artillery at the Royal Armouries Museum in the UK which houses a collection of thousands of iconic weapons from throughout history.* Like Michael Jordan's parents naming him after a shoe?
Dave I want to first of say thank you, you have brought years of great videos making my Saturdays ( and Sundays with load-out) better and wish all the best with whatever you do next,
On the real I think going your own and having a black ops 6 episode and me and the fellow fans will follow
But if this is the last, thank you for all you and Johnathan Ferguson (keeper of firearms and artillery at the Royal Armouries Museum in the Uk which houses thousands of iconic weapons from throughout history) have done and wish you the best mate.
This series and David helped revitalize GameSpots viewership, but let's just lay them all off. That makes sense.
This series was a joy to watch and listen to. Thank you for your hard work, everyone.
Would love to see a part 2 of this covering more of the weapons in this DLC like the Stoner LMG and such. Great Video.
Edit: Nvm then😔
I do hope this isn't the last time I hear "This is Jonathan Ferguson, the Keeper of Firearms and Artillery at the Royal Armories Museum in the UK, which houses a collection of thousands of iconic weapons from throughout history." It was cool being introduced to Jonathan, and when Dave started taking a more active role in the show and it became a bit more of a back and forth it only improved it further.
Time to unsubscribe from this channel i guess, what a shame
Oh i wish there was a photo of that - we would add it to the game
That's really cool!
Looks like this is the last video I watch.
Time to unsubscribe once I’ve watched his video.
lovely stuff as always
Biggest Gamespot L colourised 2024, I will miss this series so much
This video is already has more views than 90% of the last 30 videos on this channel. Its insanely impressive they justify firing the team behind the best performing series on the channel. Like it isn't even close. Most of their over vids get around 10k whereas these vids are always 100k+. Its just insanely short sighted
YOU DONE GOOFED GAMESPOT
When I'm in a stupidest choice contest and my opponent is GameSpot
Best of luck to you Jonathan Ferguson the keeper of firearms and artillery at the royal armouries museum
The last one :(
Time for the Gamespot falloff
The RPD Shorty is one of the most fun guns in any game. Being able to just hose down the jungle to get fire superiority is fantastic. Its even somewhat usable at 250+ ranges. We have done so many ops where I ended up down to my last belt, firing single shots, while holding out for a chopper pick up. Prairie Fire is an excellent expansion, they really did a good job.
How about trying to contact the channel "Second Wind" they just recently got one show, I am sure they would love another, and mostly the same audience.
Good idea! Someone has to replace the grinch Frost.
That is actually an excellent idea. I have emailed Yahtzee with the suggestion.
We never even got more Metal Gear Episodes!!! damn shame Dave and this series is gone, was the only thing of value Gamespot had left.
A showcase on the weapons in Metal Gear Solid 4 would be perfect, it's got the most weapons out of all the games
I would guess its because advertisers/YT dont like gun content.
@@nathanpapp432 It's not. It's because Fandom enacted a huge restructure and had yet another round of layoffs, which included the three guys that made this series. No creators - no series :(
