    You know, the last several video's have been "raw", so full of truth. The difference with you, Dr. Barbie, and other gynecologist's (M.D's) is you're not only a gifted doctor, you've taken the time to delve into the deep, emotional side to us women, and I love you for it! No wonder you've chos en to do siminar's, radio shows, and thank The Lord- TH-cam! 💜💜💜

      You deserve the whole package, Cindy. It's not fair to treat menopause is solely a medical matter, It's so much more than that. In the course of these videos (as well as in my seminar), I make sure to address all the different aspects of your life as a menopausal woman. All women are different. The things that affect us most are different. You can count on me to cover all the bases. I love it!

    As uncomfortable as perimenopause makes me, your videos always bring me comfort. So glad to see you continuing to make videos despite your circumstances. Thank you.

    I’m a healthcare professional so I went right back to work after my babies and some downtime because corporate America doesn’t believe in “motherhood”; but I never allowed others to treat me like a doormat.....I always made time for me and still do even now. My hubby knows not to bother me while I watch your videos 😂 but really, if I lose myself while playing all these other roles or place myself last while doing so, then what good am I to anybody else? I have a few friends who fit that exact picture you described.....at some point we all crash no matter how put together you may appear. So refreshing to listen to you say exactly what most women need to hear....thank you!! And Amen!

      You are one of the smart ones, Mona. It's so refreshing to encounter a woman who understands that she can't be good to others if she is not good to herself.

    This was all so on point, good for you for being so in tune with your patient's needs them, that you are able to know just what to talk about to help us now! 👏🏼 I'm a mother of 3, all still home, and I took 20yrs to earn my degree with many breaks here and there to have babies, support spouse's career, move around the world, care for sick family members, etc. but I am so grateful that I never fully gave up as I didn't want to resent my family for not having gotten it at all. So glad I trudged along with it, painstakingly at times, from age 18 - age 40, to have something of my own to have after my comma. All the hours spent studying at the kids' soccer practice was not in vain! 🙏🏼📚 All this to say, you're right, and also that so much is possible if we can push on through and not lose ourselves in the many roles we play as women, just helping the world go round. 💗

    I found you just in time and I'm obsessed! I'm so happy to know you are vegan. I gave up animal products last December and it has changed my life. Drinking "Natural Calm" before bed helps me sleep through some of the night sweats. You are my new role model. Thank you for sharing. 🙌🏻

    I have not cooked in 25 years (my hubby grew up cooking in his family's Chinese restaurant) and doesn't want me to cook. I hate to cook so that works for me. I have never been . a soccer mom or car pool driver in fact as a NYC girl I don't drive and never learned to. But for me the identity crisis never came because of who I am to other people at all. But as a result of loosing my walking. As a former dancer and martial artist it was hard on me but I found peace in who I am on the inside. Being there for anyone all the time does in prison a person.

    Pretty sad to say the designation after my common is and always has been nothing. I'm just useful to have around when needed...never trusted men after an incident and never wanted kids....The song "A Pirate Looks at 40" by Jimmy Buffett is the story of my life....lost....almost 51 and surgical menopause May 11.

    • @MenopauseTaylor
      @MenopauseTaylor  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Jeannette,
      You can always put something after your comma. And the things you put there yourself are waaaaay better than the things other people put there.
      I'm single, child-free, menopausal by surgical means at age 34 (now 61) ... and couldn't imagine being happier than I am now.

  • @giftboutiq

    Hi Dr. Barbie! You always provide me with a wake up call with every video! I'm having so much fun learning about you AND about myself. You tell us things we may never have thought about. What you're saying here rings so true for me. My daughters are out of the house and my life in that regard slowed down significantly. I ask myself, "What now"? So, my comma is Kathy B, new business owner, entrepreneur, possibly a future author AND the happiest I've been in a long time. Women do dedicate their lives to others before themselves and so what do we do with the time we have in this stage of our lives? We define our identity crisis which comes barreling right in! So thanks to all your videos from 1 to 68, I'm more knowledgeable and I know this chapter in my life is a good one! I'm post menopausal and I'm proud of it!

    • @MenopauseTaylor

      I love your enthusiasm. And it would be so wonderful if all women were prepared ahead of time so that they didn't have to endure an identity crisis. Little by little, we'll help women everywhere.

    You have such an insight, you are amazing. I went through an identity crisis when most of my kids left "the nest" and started menopause. Very busy Mom raised 8 kids, home schooled them and no time for myself for many years. Suddenly I felt exactly as you said, like nobody needed me and I had no purpose in life anymore. Felt depressed like I had no reason to be alive.I had no idea that identity crisis are common, I thought I lost my mind. Thankfully I have a part time job now and volunteering to a needy cause and it helped me a lot to feel that I still have things to offer. Having "Me time" became a must. Thank you for your input.

    Thanks so much for this! Could you please tell me how to go about gettingoxytocin? Do you just go to a gynecologist and ask for it or what? Please answer.

    • @MenopauseTaylor
      @MenopauseTaylor  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Debora,
      Unfortunately, we don't have oxytocin in the form of a replacement hormone in the traditional medical community. You will find Alternative & Complementary products that market it as "The Love Hormone." They usually market just about every other kind of hormone, also. Generally speaking, oxytocin is not something we replace when it's gone. The claims I see for these oxytocin replacement products are pure marketing, and not based in scientific fact.

    Do you have children @menopause Taylor?

    • @MenopauseTaylor
      @MenopauseTaylor  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      My standard answer to that question is: I have thousands. I just haven't raised any of them.
      In other words, I have delivered thousands of babies, but never been pregnant myself.

    Would women have mid life crisis like men when they lose their rational and follow the direction their penises point to?
