  • Most women endure nightmare scenarios when they approach menopause. They have no idea what to expect in advance, no idea what’s happening once it starts, and no idea where to go for help after they’ve become desperate for help. It just doesn’t have to be that way! In this video, I’ll depict what’s typical (and unfortunate) for the majority of women. And I’ll set the stage for helping you prevent that same nightmare.

    Dear dr Taylor. I am 40 and started with your videos (in order). I cannot say enough how much it calmed me down mentally just to have them. I was terrified of the menopause. Now I feel I am not anymore as I am getting such knowledge. Your contribution to women is invaluable. Thank you so much!

      You make me so happy! I believe that the greater fear is the unknown and that peace of mind is everything. If you get this education, you will have zero fear and great peace of mind.
      And I'm so glad that you see the value in watching them in order. All you have to do is relax because you know I'll cover everything at the proper time.

    Oh goodness, you are soo describing me! My mom said she really had no symptoms and that was all. I started noticing my hot flashes about 6 months after having brain surgery. I am a nurse and my friends are nurses and They told me that’s what it was. But even though we are medical professionals, we still have no clue what is really going on or what to do about it! Thank you for opening our eyes!

    ha ha ha, this video had me laughing and crying at the same time. It was me to a "t" except instead of docs wanting you to do HRT, it's quite the opposite and more them making you more afraid. My family doctor, a female even, told me I should just "get through it". I then scheduled an appointment with a PA who prescribes HRT and her approach was to only do testosterone replacement because "estrogen causes breast cancer and makes you fat", so even those that are hormone supporters may not know what the hell they are talking about. Talk about confusing. Had I not first listened to your videos, I wouldn't have known she was full of crap, but I immediately knew I should turn and run, because of you! I'm soooo thankful I found your video series and will tell anyone and everyone about it. Sooooo much love to you for this endeavor. You are helping so many women.

      Oh, thank you, Teresa. I just hate the state of affairs with the care of menopausal women. You shouldn't have to deal with mixed messages, misinformation, and professionals who refuse to help you. That's why I provide this education. I always say, "Peace of mind is everything." When you have accurate, factual, unbiased information, you can make choices with confidence. I applaud you.

      lorraine o callaghan It's certainly unheard of! I agree...I used to get so frustrated that I DIDN'T bother to ask questions because I was shuffled out of the office like cattle. One full hour would have been ideal. It's a conveyor belt and being on it only made me more confused and frustrated.

      Well my goodness what a fantastic community of great women we have here. Would you believe to even get an app with a gynaecologist here you have to first get a referral letter from a GP and then it could take months. It is like trying to visit with royalty .........

    Menopause is a challenging time. Here in Cincinnati, OH there is a real need of Gynecologists that have EXPERIENCED Menopause. I believe in "living in the moment," it's all that's actually "GUARANTEED!" I've tried "the Wine," and I'm still underweight, while I keep hoping DAILY for LESS oily skin...everything you say seems odd to me! Sure, my hair is thinned, and my "Boops are 'droops' but I've seemed to grown "wiser;" I pop-out random advice to random folks like a Pez-Dispenser! This IS my 'Menopause' & the "nightmare" seems to be that I'm experiencing it in RARE form! YOU are spot-on about the "disease" thing though! I'm finding each day is a different one for me, and I'm taking it an hour at a time...and doing ok. YOU help me in ways that go beyond Menopause, & feel we are of similar "N.E.R.D. like minds; YOU are giving me the detailed education I will need to "sit my daughter down in front of me" as you did your patients, and EASE the anxiety before it creeps in like "a Caterpillar sneakin' across a Moss bed in Tennis shoes!" (Foghorn Leghorn) I may REQUIRE a "consultation!" Gigglin'! I WILL check out that RADIO play, though! Well, for now, I best grab a cup of Tea & consider writing the book I'll have to title: "Menopausal Loneliness Is Not Your Mother's Broken Heart!" ;-)

This whole video series has been an evolution in me..and thank heavens it was alongside experimentation with a few products while I think about what I truly want to do now..as well as consider in the future what could happen, life does happen.. I am so envious of all of your former patients, Menopause Taylor!! I wish I had had a doctor like you in my life when I turned 40. I have an appointment with my primary care physician today, and we're going to have a great discussion about why I want to go on HRT. I have knowledge, and all thanks go to you!!

    • @MenopauseTaylor
      @MenopauseTaylor  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Be careful! Primary care physicians know very little about menopause. Most likely, you'll get a very close-minded, ignorant response ... especially if you make the big mistake of requisition HRT for the "wrong" reasons. I wish you had had a consultation with me BEFROE your appointment. I would have given you all sorts of tips and help to make sure you get what you want.
      If the appointment does not go as you please, be sure to schedule a consultation with me (at MenopauseTaylor.ME). I can make your life so much easier.

For me the most helpful thing that help me the most, is a chilli pad, that my husband bought so I can sleep all night, he was tired to find me sleeping on the floor, or at the end of the bed( I was trying to find a cold place to sleep). this pad and the pump circulated cool water and keep my body at a confortable temperature about 69F....so I have good sleep, and I can manage my days just right. Dr. Taylor, wow , wow, wow! Boy do you know and believe all the havoc menopause can wreak! I have found some doctors refuse to chalk up certain symptoms to menopause, which can make you feel crazy. My mother passed away when I was 40, I'm now soon to be 48 , and she would mention it and tell me how you will feel like someone else has taken over your body, you " lose" yourself for awhile she would say. Not having her here now to talk to or ask questions has been really hard. I said all that to once again say Thank you from the bottom of my heart for all you do, it is making a difference for so many of us women. I only wish I lived closer to you or had the resources to meet you face to face or attend a seminar.. but I shall continue taking in all your education from my little corner in Ohio and appreciating every last bit of it! ps: I find myself telling any woman I can get to listen to me about perimenopause / menopause and insisting they look you up! It's time
    " the change of life" is not a taboo thing to talk about any longer!!😘xoxo

    Hey, Menopause Barbie, that nightmare was ME!! In the last 8 years😡A real corporate witch.. Except I didn’t realise it was peri/menopause, I just thought I was high-strung, emotional and needed to eat better! I left my job because I didn’t want to be “that person” anymore. Imagine my disappointment when “that person” came with me😱. Who am I without swinging hormones? PS. I went to my share of doctors/ professionals but what can you discover in a 15minute consultation? They and I didn’t have the time - so miserably ignorant until NOW! 🤗

    You described me from A to Z. The 6 minute visit to the doctor was true. In Japan,I spent 5 minutes when the doctor started promoting her Placenta therapy , fluid from other women injected into my arm. She didn’t explain it and I was expelled by the nurse, so the next person could come in. Outrageous! Can you do a placenta injection video? A from Japan.

    • @MenopauseTaylor
      @MenopauseTaylor  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Actually, that's not a standard or even minimally-known therapy. There is only one very small study on it, and most who know about it view it as a Japanese health fad that promises eternal youth. It's really a complex package of all sorts of things, many of which can cause immune reactions or carry viruses. I won't be doing a video on it.

    Dr.Barbie loved this video in the series! As a point, why do you think we start to crave wine? A quick fix or more of a chemical reasoning for it .. Much love from Helsinki, Paula

    • @MenopauseTaylor
      @MenopauseTaylor  7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I think all hormonal changes are associated with cravings: Carbs during puberty; sweets & caffeine during PMS; whatever during pregnancy.
      I think crave wine during menopause because of the stresses that are going on at that time in our lives: Teenage children, college-age children, empty nest syndrome, elderly parents with health problems, saving for retirement, boring marriage, 22 uncomfortable symptoms of menopause, etc. It's a tough time. Alcohol helps women cope, but causes many problems in the long run.

    I can certainly relate to much of what you said I began noticing many symptoms infrequently about 3 years ago in a completely unacceptable living situation run by systemic oppression and no space away from the crowd to even read a news article on my phone or.look up something to help my dog but according to my age I was able to detect menopause was not far off I still knew nothing about it and I was constantly surrounded by women of.all ages with all kinds of experiences.wanting to hang out with me and never a.word about menopause. My attitude is, this is exactly what should happen to a healthy 50 year old woman. However now that it's my reality and not some near future concept I'm beginning to understand how weird this process can be and why so many women have such difficulty I'm far from getting old hoping for a big strong stubborn puppy next month I believe that changing societies attitude about menopause will drastically benefit the lives of so.many women and their families raising awareness on.overlooked topics and underestimated people is one of.my specialties hopefully I can help in this area as.well just by being a good friend with a good attitude and opportunities to share what I have experienced and learned again thank you

    Oh this made me laugh. Thank goodness I did not have all the symptoms u mentioned. I remember well one night lying on the couch watching TV and all of a sudden I started glowing like a high voltage light bulb. I got the fright of my life and thought this is what internal combustion, which I read of as a child, is all about. I called a male friend and he burst out laughing. Said he thinks its menopause. I was so embarrassed and brushed it off. Turns out he was right and the hot flushes became more and more. I had no one to discuss it with and just prayed that it will go away.

      Please be sure to do one of the following:
      (1) Start with the very first video and watch them all in order. That little number after each title tells you the order.
      (2) Get my book from MenopauseTaylor.ME and read it in chronological order
      (3) Get the webinars at MenopauseTaylor.ME and watch each chapter in order

    • @MenopauseTaylor
      @MenopauseTaylor  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      None of this is in your head. And you are not depressed. Depression is one of the 22 symptoms of menopause. It's a symptom of estrogen deficiency. It's a real shame that doctors give anti-depressants for only one of the symptoms rather than treating the cause of the problem.
      If you have a consultation with me, I will help you get what you want. It takes knowing a lot about the medical system insurance, and guidelines. I'll equip you with everything you need.

    Thank you very much dear Dr. Barbie. Your videos are wonderful and very educational. Thank you for your dedication. I'm 47 years old and I only have irregular periods. I'm considering using Duavee, when I get hot flashes because I suffer from depression. I heard that progesterone can affect one's mental health. Can I use Duavee if I'm perimenopausal or is it only for post menopausal women. Is progesterone really that bad?Thank you in advance for your help. You are a blessing in my life. May the Lord bless you abundantly.

    • @MenopauseTaylor
      @MenopauseTaylor  7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Nena,
      I'm so glad these videos are helping you.
      Here's what you need to know:
      Progesterone can make you moody. Progesterone is the hormone that causes women to have "PMS" just before their periods. You know, with the moodiness, irritability, & bloating. Excessive progesterone can cause depression. But progesterone IS NOT the better or more preferable hormone to management menopause symptoms (unless you ask someone in the Alternative & Complementary arena). The symptoms of menopause (especially the hot flashes, as well as all the other 21 symptoms) are due to ESTROGEN deficiency.
      So, the best way to alleviate the symptoms is to take some form of estrogen. If you have your uterus, you have to take progesterone WITH the estrogen, simply to protect your uterus from uterine cancer. Women who don't have their uterus can take estrogen all by itself.
      Duavee is a SERM (videos 34 & 35) with a very small dose of estrogen in it. AND it's such a low dose of estrogen that it is okay to use Duavee WITHOUT progesterone. So you can absolutely use it if it's what you prefer. It might be the perfect thing for you. Be sure to watch all these videos again, closer to the time you start having other symptoms because you will certainly focus on different things then. You're doing a great job of preparing for your future life as a menopausal woman. I'm very proud of you. I can tell you're really larding a lot.

    I don't mind dealing with menopause. I find it preferable to a disease hey I know my health is ok. I don't have the time or money to be sick and now I know to take certain steps to remain in good health.What I do have time for is watching these videos in order. Sure I get hot flashes that was my wake up call however they're not terribly uncomfortable for me even when they're more intense. However waking up freezing isn't fun What I really appreciate is knowing about the long term potentially deadly diseases and the less understood symptoms that do interfere with my life like brain fog and joint pain and the many things I can do about all of it.

    As always, volumes of compassion and information with each video :-). I've watched ALL your videos and look forward to all the rest to come. You've often mentioned that our "significant other" should educate themselves as well about menopause. I agree 100%. Hubby and I still watch them together and he has learned so much about how a woman's body functions. He told me he was glad he didn't have to go through menopause! I'm one of the lucky women who has a very supportive husband and daughters. :-). Thank you Dr. Barbie for all the time, compassion and love you put into each and every video.

    • @giftboutiq
      @giftboutiq 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Menopause Taylor Wonderful idea! "I could of had a V-8" moment popped into my head hahah! I definitely love the idea of educating men. I think their actions/reactions towards their significant other is based on being "uneducated" with a woman's change of life cycles. In the long run, this will benefit them as well. You know where I'm going with that! Dan told me he just didn't understand how to help me. We felt so helpless, even with our 20 minute visit with the gyno...both of us would be perplexed walking out of the office with basically no knowledge whatsoever. (Don't be angry with me...I haven't been to one in 4 years because I was getting the runaround). I feel some men would be more comfortable watching a DVD in the privacy of their homes. I could go on and on about his topic because I feel menopause is a family change. As I mentioned above, I do have a very supportive husband, BUT that doesn't mean he understood everything...he just had lots of compassion and love for me which helped a great deal. Also, the DVD would make great gifts for our daughters to watch with their significant others. If I knew what I know now, back in my late 30's, my life would have been much better/easier for both Dan and I as a couple. For any ladies/gents reading this comment, I definitely recommend watching EVERY SINGLE VIDEO Dr. Barbie has posted and/or get the book. I found when I went back and watched them again, I came away with even more information. In closing, the topic of painful sex is of great interest to me. I know it's not an easy topic to discuss for some women (like my mother) but in this forum I feel your approach is delicate, compassionate AND super educational. Why not enjoy a roll in the hay without fearing the pain? There's ways to remedy this which I know you will address in-depth. :-). Thanks again Dr. Barbie!

    I was really looking forward to menopause but found it to be a nightmare!
    I never had even one hot flash in peri or post menopause and I have bene in menopause for 4 years. So I thought wow this is easy! The first 2 years was even though I started to get vertigo and balance problems after having been a professional dancer and martial artist for years.
    I had a severe fracture in Bermuda breaking my ankle in 2 places and I am not able to walk unaided yet. I am seeing a different orthopedic surgeon next month.
    I had surgery at the official hospital of the US Olympics , the official hospital of all NY Sports teams and WWE and on and on. They are a world class hospital but have been very demeaning to me about menopause and my not being able to walk instead of helping me.
    It took me this long to get into another hospital to se an orthopedist.
    Then I found out I had a parathyroid tumor and the only real risk I had for it is menopause except maybe too many x rays.
    It took me a few years to get that diagnosis. Doctors were telling me it was in my head. It was my GYN who helped get me tested for a diagnosis. It took time to get the diagnosis.
    They still never apologized and act like know it alls when they missed a major diagnosis.
    Anyway I never craved alcohol. I lost weight at menopause.
    I have had persistent yeast infections since -peri-menopause. I am 55 years old maybe since 45.
    If I married a guy who said I was no fun any more I would at the very least give him a swift round house but I don't have to deal with that my hubby is the sweetest most loving husband ever!
    I can't imagine must be horrible to be married to such a selfish a hole.
    In regards to menopause I asked my doctor.
    My mom did not go into menopause until very late. She was sweating like a pig. I am estranged from her but I knew I would not experience menopause like her. She had long blonde hair and was fit. She became over weight and sweaty and cut her hair. She said she was too hot. I have never had a hot flash.
    I understand wanting to have a disease rather than menopause then you could be cured.
    In regards to my GYN I have been seeing him for 25 years. He is very caring and does acupuncture himself.
    Though he is an MD he leans towards "alternative". He did not prescribe HRT for his wife.
    I had to talk him into it. But he did. let me choose.
    I did all of the research myself. I shared it with him. I am going to share your channel with him when I see him next maybe next month but he is not computer Savvy. What do you suggest for him? get your book for him?
    You have really helped me a lot and he is always willing to learn new information to help his patients.
    I did not think I was going crazy but thought I was dying. With parathyroid tumors they do lead to an early death. But it all starts with menopause. My fractures started with menopause. Though I started menopause in 2014 and broke my ankle in 2016.
    I agree the taboo around menopause is weird. If we all go to it whats the big secret?
    I really appreciate you putting it out there for us!
