Me too! I’ve sketched, but every time I added any paint I destroyed it. So I started with watercolor painting now I am moving onto acrylic, next will try oil. I definitely need a more comfy set up than what I have now. Im not done with this 10:20 one yet, will finish tomorrow. 🤞

Better late than never! Grandma Moses was 78 when she started. I haven't painted in 30 years but I'm encouraged to begin again. The wonderful thing about clouds is you can create them any way you like.

Hey Jocelyne! 👋😍 I let you know when I dip my brush into water the first few times so you know that is to the top left (off camera). I occasionally wipe off my brush on a paper towel to the left (I mention that a couple times. Other than that, maybe you can be more specific with when you think you are missing something off camera. So glad this video was of some help 🎨🤗
I really like how you just try things out in this video and show how to fix it if it isn’t what you want. Lots of tutorials only show how to paint perfectly, but that isn’t how to learn!

Very good video. As a beginner I tend to be a bit rigid and not let the brush do it’s job. But after seeing this I realise there are no mistakes because anything can be put right. So I will try again at the weekend & try to relax and go with the flow. Many thanks.👍

Yesterday I went out and bought a thick brush like the first one you used, as well as cotton balls, specifically for clouds. There are all sorta of different clouds and to paint particular ones, you need particular brushes or other tools. Heck, for very small pictures, or clouds in a very long distance, you can use cotton swabs :) I like your thinking, there's no one rule for painting things, as long as your painting looks good. For pallet I use a thin cutting board then wash it with a sponge when done. The paint stains the wood nicely and I use the same color placement of warm and cool colors according to the color wheel every time I paint.

Heck, for very small pictures, or clouds in a very long distance, you can use cotton swabs :) I like your thinking, there's no one rule for painting things, as long as your painting looks good. @@AnnieTroe Yes, I learned that with my first attempt, where I tried too many fancy colors :-) The sunsets where I live are breathtaking, so many colors. But watching this helped me see that working with just white clouds at first would be really smart. And just as satisfying :-)

For pallet I use a thin cutting board then wash it with a sponge when done. The paint stains the wood nicely and I use the same color placement of warm and cool colors according to the color wheel every time I paint.
That is a great tip @felsal20! I could look for small ones that fit in a gallon baggie for storage (to save my paints). Art Hugs!
