I have watched a million videos on painting clouds, this is the first video I've seen one that makes me want to go try it. I love the fact that you realize all the little details are what people need to know/see!
All the little details that you know YOU need to see.... out of the "Millions of videos on painting clouds" I look for "little things" that I need to see and I see the "little things" that I want to look for..... You don't know what I "need to see", and I've looked for "little things" that he hasn't realised I needed to see. So, I realise I can find "little things" in many videos, without having to look at "Millions".
I'm a total beginner but your tutorial has me wanting to dive straight in to clouds. So simply explained and looks genuinely achievable! Thanks so much 😊

This tutorial is fantastic! I am painting a sky on earring blanks and needed to paint some realistic clouds to compliment the ocean I have already painted.
Love this ! I'm a big time lover of clouds, not the "man made" ones, of course, love the fall and springtime clouds. This is the best tutorial on how. You're right about the weather in clouds, sooo and many different colors seen in them, greens browns, the colors you used, and more. Your clouds r delicious! My first clouds looked like donuts moving across the sky, now, after a year of painting and watching so many of ur videos, I love my clouds and I even find myself saying, “tickle the tops”! U r an incredible teacher/instructor! Ty!
absolutely beautiful sky, I like the "V" forming the clouds to come over the top toward the front, and the "filler inner clouds"....cirrus....can't wait to start my next painting! thank you Ian for helping me become a better painter!

I thought it might be helpful to mention it in one of your up-coming vids. I am a retired Pilot and have taken up drawing and painting. I had to study clouds for various aviation certifications and was amazed at how many different kinds of clouds there are and the meteorological conditions that cause them. I don't paint in acrylic but I believe this technique will also be very helpful in oil painting. I love how you explained why you do each step. If I know why I'm doing something, it allows me to know when & how much of it is necessary. Now, I've gotta search your channel to see if you show more of your studio. Clouds really allow the artist to be creative. You have good representation of stratus above the horizon with cumulus tops. The middle clouds are cumulous and the top clouds are cirrus. I like your technique and I will try to replicate this. It is hard to get a 3D effect where you can imagine the depth of the cloud. I will incorporate this in the painting I am currently working on. Thanks for your tutorial.
