It is always best not to paint fantasy clouds but directly from nature. Of course, it is important that the light and shadows on the clouds correspond with the light and shadows in the picture.
I like how you start out with sloppy or random colour placements, but then blend it to look great. I just started painting and I am very sloppy and half hazard with my colours and brush strokes, and your videos are helping me to be able to work it into something that looks presentable. Now I need to work on being patient, taking my time, and the details. Thank you.
Thank you James :-))) And yes - I was/still am like you, my impatience sometimes takes over, especially when I get tired after long hours of painting...it is a struggle but you can definitely learn to keep your temper at bay.
Good luck. IMHO as a beginner, painting clouds, like real clouds, is an elusive art. My own art teacher told me her next project after summering in Europe was to take more classes just to learn how to paint clouds. She's ever experienced and taught art herself, although now retired. I've been trying and all of mine come out flat.
I am not an artist and I cannot paint or draw but I am very impressed with those who can produce these kinds of images. Not only the painting skills but also the ability to imagine what a scene should look like.In this case visualizing a cloud formation. Very interesting and enjoyable. Thank you.
Thanks Mate, a fantastic tutorial, I often find myself looking at storm clouds thay can be mesmerising, Just like your painting, Thank you & stay safe.

You are one of my favorites, you are at the top of the list. You pay attention to details and what you paint looks like an actual picture. I'm aspiring to that. I have to use a reference or it doesn't look good. It's ok to take as much time as I need to get it right. So glad I found you on yt.
@@lisacurtis8162 Thank you Tonya :-))) But I have to admit - I also use reference photos. I rarely show them, at least not in the shorter YT videos. But yes, I mostly all of the time use some kind of reference photo to refer to. And that`s what basically all the realist painters are doing. Some copy the photo, some paint it a bit more loose, but in the end, all the REALLY good realistic painters use reference material. And I truly believe that this is nothing that we artists have to be ashamed of. I don`t like tracing, but to refer to a photo helps a lot, teaches a lot and you end up with a painting that looks realistic. If you specialize in one subject matter than you can, after a lot of paintings, perhaps come up with a painting that still looks realistic although it came straight out of your head. But until then I would not get mad if your paintings that you do without a reference photo are not at the level that your paintings have that you used some kind of reference for :-))) Even Michelangelo and especially Caravaggio were using models to refer to, they were even using the same light setting that they tried to get onto the canvas while they painted their amazing paintings. I actually have a part of clouds on my painting on my chanel, but I'll have to work on them again, because this how I want them to look. I love clouds so much.
Amazing work!
Thank you so much :-))) Clouds appear to be simple...but doing them in a convincing and realistic manner is actually not that easy...but keep on practicing!!! It all boils down to the time you spend in front of the easel working really seriously!

This is incredible!! I like your painting style so much. It will be very helpful if you kindly mention the name of the colors and the types of the brushes that you use to paint it.
Thank you :-))) I use here Titanium white, cadmium red, phthalo blue, dioxazine purple and lamp black. And concerning brushes - I use here some very cheap ebay rounds from china. I have unfortunately no link to them. But they came in a set of 12 for really just a few euro.
This is the best video of cloud painting that I've ever seen, and I have watched many of them!, but this is the best by far! It's beautiful and so realistic! and i cant wait to try your technique! Thank you! Mr Brenner you have inspired me to pick up my paint brush an start painting again! God bless!

Wow ultimate skills of bringing cloud sheads in painting 🖼while showing how you are mixing it with what colors, it helpful for learning people, we expect some more paintings to be done by you sir 👏👍🙏🇮🇳
Thank you so much :-))) I tried to include the colour mixing process but people don`t seem to like these longer videos unfortunately, the retention on these videos was horrible :-(( If you want to see those videos full blown (no time lapse including palette and colour mixing process) then you might want to check out my Patreon :-)
