- Super Mario Galaxy 2 contains a total of 49 galaxies, which is even more than the previous game in the series. Sadly, with a number that high, some galaxies are bound to be kinda bad. SamHydeDisciple ye I love water levels! These two were my favorites of all galaxy levels, even out of galaxy 1. Well, I guess besides big mouth galaxy. That one was very serene imo. I loved cosmic cove for the same reason. And slimy spring was incredible. Once again, a very calm and beautiful galaxy. I loved the entrance to that one. It felt like kind of a sewer to me or some sort of forgotten area or pipe where life started to grow, and that was beautiful to me. I’m very sad that these two were in here, they were my favorites.

Always a fun and peaceful experience that I probably did a bit too much... actually no, you can never play Cosmic Cove too much.
I was a better gamer when I was 8 now I'm 11 and I'm worse at the perfect run.Last time I beat it when I was 8 it only took 200 lives and a giant fit and crying.NOW it took 300 lives and I still haven't beat it yet.

When I was a kid, I went to cosmic cove galaxy just to swim with the shells and ice skate. I really liked the swim with shells in the galaxy games.

Rolling Masterpiece Galaxy is actually one of my favorite ones, but that's because I like variation. I absolutely loved having to play a different way with the controller!

rolling mastepiece is one of my favorites as well!!! The ball controls are actually really good, but also a still difficult challenge that remains fun due to all the varying colorful obstacles in the level.

Indeed... The memorable world S galaxies are at the end of it. Boss Blitz, Flip Out, and need I mention Grandmaster? Seriously, Stone Cyclone was my least favorite part of Beach Bowl. Why bring it back?
I liked Twisty Trials. It is a remake of a SM Sunshine level, and it is a fun level.
There are quite a few galaxies that are boring like the ones they mentioned and more
Mario Squared (Which I just realize is a joke on how squared means “to the 2nd Power” in math, like the 2nd game) and Stone Cyclone Should has been on the list. Rehashing and making it harder.

Oh you're right. I always forget this one, although it's one of the best galaxies. I beat it only once a long time ago and it took me 40 min. I should try it again.

Agreed. The end of the Galaxy literally took my breath away. It's a symbol of the last bit of tranquility before facing bowser. There's a reason It's the penultimate level in that world

@@jclkaytwo Yes... and Super Mario Bros 3 happens to be my favorite of them. Not saying anything about the other 2D Mario platformers, just my favorite of them is SMB3.
And again: The Motion-Controls in the Galaxy Games were great, worked and I love them.
Cosmic Cove is one of my favorite galaxies. The first mission is an open world swimming level although one can skip straight to the end. One way to make this level better is to add silver stars. The second mission is a linear water level that features one of the game's best launch stars. My only complaint is that swimming is slow and hard to control, so increasing swim speed and agility will help greatly.
I completely agree that Wild Glide is a galaxy of missed potential. It is the only jungle themed galaxy in the entire galaxy series, and I absolutely love tribal jungle themed movies and games. Wild Glide is a very short level that does not let you explore the jungle on foot. If you manage to break its boundary, it is too rough and slippery to walk on, and you will find out that there are gaping holes everywhere and everything is made of one sided paper due to unfinished models. How I would improve the galaxy is to make it a complete jungle galaxy that has open exploration, temples with puzzles, a Fluzzard gliding secret star, and of course a lot of Launch Stars and Star Bit art. Maybe even a second jungle galaxy later in the game.
All those poor galaxies were doing was being themselves, and being happy as they are. Then you call them 'bland' and 'boring'. Yes, you say they aren't terrible, but they now feel they are not great as they already are. Those poor galaxies! They are going to be grumpy all day now. Not very nice Nico.

I love how you hated the rolling masterpiece galaxy for it's name. it's clearly art themed, and is actually a very original level, and you suck at motion controls, so you just hate it for no reason.

For some people, they work great. For some people, they don't work at all. I'm in sort of a "grey area" between those sides.
For me they works perfectly and I like that you need to move and not just sitting on your chair and push buttons
Its very fun because it requires concentration sometimes to be very delicate with the materials within the game
Slimy Spring is all about the atmosphere. Good music and visuals- seeing the sunset after the foggy water cave is effectively done. Made me go wow.
The ending of slimy spring is the most peaceful thing I have ever seen in my entire life.
clockwork ruins is a ruin, meaning that it is kind of historical and you feel like an explorer playing this. And when you get the power star, you feel like a professional explorer.
In the defence of Cosmic Cove, that level is one of my favorites. Agreed, it's not too exciting or anything, but it's the vibe that really makes up for it. Especially in the Twin Falls Star. I remember playing the level many times just to get to the ice lake part and just ice skate for hours in total with the soothing music playing in the background, doing different types of flips and tricks. I just loved to look under the ice to see all the stuff, enemies and fishes there. That level is a good childhood memory of mine.
10:40 wanna know why it’s called rolling masterpiece? Because 1: it’s art themed, And 2: you’ll be a masterpiece if you complete this galaxy.

I do strangely like water levels in the galaxy games so I’m probably bias but, I liked them both

Get ready for a lot of disagrees:
#10 - Disagree. Although its kind of bland and boring, its still a unique galaxy to me.
#9 - Agree. It really is disappointing that this galaxy was only used for the races.
#8 - Disagree. I like the setting this galaxy takes place in and the platforming challenges.
#7 - Disagree. This galaxy is so beautiful with fun stars to take on, even though they mostly take place underwater.
#6 - Disagree. I to hate desert levels, but personally, the Galaxy games to me have made awesome desert galaxy's, with this game being better than the 1st.
#5 - Agree. This technique really doesn't deserve to be in its own galaxy, and yeah, Super Mario 3d Land and Super Mario 3d World handled it better.
#4 - Disagree. Personally for me, this galaxy is better than cosmic cove galaxy with the wonderful music and the interesting setting of a water cave.

Cosmic Cove and Slimy Spring are easily my favorites. Why? *The atmosphere.* It's calming, mysterious, and fits well with the levels' aesthetic. And that GORGEOUS sunset right at the end of Slimy Spring is just absolute perfection.
A Galaxy doesn't need to be challenging or action packed to be good.
I can’t believe you put Slipsand, Flipsville, Cosmic Cove, and Clockworks in your 10 worst. These galaxies are fascinating compared to most of them in the game. You can’t just say that the levels are boring and bad just because they’re water themed or desert themed. The music in those levels are top tier, and some of the stars are phenomenal.
This video actually hurts to watch, some of these levels were my favorite! You completely disregard the calm and scenic style of the swimming levels and talk about it being “boring”. And the sand level is great but because your odd hate towards sand levels you make it seem horrible when it’s a GREAT galaxy. Completely disappointed by your picks. 👎🏼

Gray Grimes I hate that level. It’s pretty hard, and not in a good way, and it’s also lazy hard. It’s the Beach Bowl Fast Foe Comet but faster. And Mario Squared is a nostalgia cash grab. And so is its purple coin level.

I know this is a top ten of the worst galaxy's. The point of the super mario Galaxy levels is to give the player a different perspective at each turn, each of these galaxy's are unique in their own way. They might not be for all players.
I think it's pretty unfair what you said about on sandslip Galaxy since you pretty much hate most desert levels. Also, that part when you slide down a massive slope is completely unique to the game and it's something I would replay the level to do again.
Slimy Spring Galaxy is also kind of different, you don't encounter many levels in the later mario games that you're in water almost the entire time. Slimy Spring keeps players on their toes due to the lack of bubbles and other sources of air.
The last thing I'd like to talk about is your last pick, Masterpiece Galaxy. I knew something with motion controls would be last and your just kicking dirt on the Galaxy because of the motion controls. You also said that because the level is called "masterpiece Galaxy", it'd deserve to be at the bottom. What are you on about? It's called masterpiece Galaxy because the Galaxy is filled to the brim with utensils such as pencils, paintbrushes and many other things you would have in your school pencil case, not because it's meant to be a masterpiece.
I hope you take what I have said to consideration and in your next video, I'm guessing it will be top ten best super mario Galaxys.

What I find pretty interesting is that other people have some of these levels on their top 10 galaxy list.
For me, most of these galaxies are pretty memorable, but these lists based on the creator's opinion and I enjoyed the video :D

What?! Slimy spring galaxy to me was one of the most memorable galaxies in both galaxy games! It had such a depth to it with that kind of dark passeges at the beginning all the way to that calm, beautiful ending with the sun and and beautiful nature with those birdsounds in the background. It gave me the true feeling of a moment to look back to the beautiful journey that I had to come this far (since it was in world 6, quite far in the game), which was just so unexpected and beautiful at the same time.
But, of course I understand that not everyone has the same opinion and I respect that! I just wanted to point that out!

Also, I HATED getting the green stars for battle belt. There were 3 of them for no reason (there could've easily been 2) and they were all in basically the same place.
With regards to sand slide galaxy, you do know you can still long jump on the moving sand, right? it's not very slow if you do that.
Finally, Rolling Masterpiece glaxy is fine. Wild Glide -- lava spaceship edition was much worse.
mario kart Battle Belt has 3 Green Stars because it had 3 normal missions.

Having 3 green stars was a waste of time because of the boot-out whenever you collect a star. I don't think anyone would've been upset if there was one less green star.

My favorite Mario game was paper Mario sticker star I loved it. So many things to do, puzzles to solve, and places to explore

Excuse me what the fudge, Clockwork ruins is one of my favourite galaxies in the game. Slips and actually sucks not because it’s boring, but because it’s a desert level and every single mario game has a god damn desert level in it.
