But a twelve YO Angelina takes it to a whole other level ! Plain Raw Talent. The best singer I ever heard no matter what age. The emotion of her interpitation is out of this world.
Ivan, the guitarist, was so drawn into her vocal that he had a hard time keeping it together! Also, you see that her face is illuminated by the screen of her computer - she is reading the lyrics as she is not so familiar with the song! Ivan Mendez was Angelina's (12y) guitarist in LA in 2018. In an interview with Alan Papier on his TH-cam channel, Ivan told the story of how the cover's came about. In a nutshell "Angelina doesn't have a wish list of songs, she decides spontaneously if she likes a song. After hearing a song she says great song and has downloaded the lyrics. OK, well, let's start ". Then the cover was recorded in one take, Angelina sang the song here for the first time after her arrangement without rehearsing beforehand. 💯 *AJ* 💯

Yes, Angelina really feels this song, probably relating the story to episodes in her own life ( as we all do), at just12 years old she has experienced many aspects of life. She just doesn't sound mature, she really is! She had already published her first book and written a song "What is Life?" She had persuaded her family to move to LA. That's a lot to handle!
She is working on broadening her low register even more than she already has been up to this point here when she was 12. AJ is a happy child but here I see her empathy of expression in telling this story via song. Lana Del Ray is known for the sad girl genre.

During the pandemic this song was a kind of therapy, that helped me though some difficult times. I was fortunate enough to hear her sing this live, at her concert in Norway, on 10th July 2022. She slowed the song down and added even more emotion! The whole concert was uplifting, full of incredible performances, intimate conversation with the audience and all the fans rejoicing together like one big family! Tomorrow the EP Old Enough comes out, you never know, there might be a new favourite!

Most of Angelina's songs are among my favorites. But with this one, and her cover of It's A Mans World, you don't even need hearing to understand that something unique is happening. Just look at the expression on the guitarist's face (or the conductor in It's A Man's World) and it's obvious.

When Adele sings it, we feel her pain-when Angelina sings it, we understand how the lyrics apply to each of us. We hear Adele’s version, but we feel Angelina’s version. Acoustic Angelina, backed by Ivan on guitar, singing melancholy lyrics is devastating. And she’s reading off the lyrics. It’s not even a perfect performance, but it’s completely mesmerizing. It's impossible for anyone to sing this song with the emotion laden penetration that she applies to it. And let us realize this was a 'jam session' at home where neither she or her guitarist friend were fully familiar with the song. He just follows her lead and she, while reading lyrics off a tablet at her side, rearranges it 'on the fly' to a level where not even Adele's original can match.
Truly a phenomenal performance. But what blows me away is that she's clearly reading the words and is not that familiar with the song and is STILL able to convey this amazing level of emotion and feeling. It is like she is a channel for the deep meaning in the lyrics which seems impossible for a 12 year old. Mesmerizing is the right word.

Adele is a terrific songwriter, but she is not on a par with Angelina singing this, or any other song imo. Angelina always manages to put more emotion into anything she sings. I came back military they both got sick and they died so I miss him a spot in the mission. That’s all connected this song.

Number 2 remains NGT "Summertime", and number 3 remains "I Put a Spell On You". This one, with at least 30-50 others is/are my number 4.
