With the Astro A40 TR the headset itself is only HALF of a total Audio system, the only point of Astro Selling the headset by itself is if you have damaged a previous headset. I have used 2 Older Gens of Astro A40's before both with and without the Mixamp, and honestly if your not going to use them together then there is no point in even buying A40's in the first place. If you think they sound good NOW through your Controller, get the Mixamp and you'll experience another Universe of Audio quality, immersion and directional Accuracy. I want to play rainbow six sige with them on ps5 do i need a mix amp to hear very good ? Should i get it ( because i don t want to buy mix amp is expensive )
I researched about the same thing which is the MixAmp and all the results was that it would make the sound of the headset louder a bit and the ability to change volume of voice chat and game voice, so i just bought the a40 from amazon and i would receive it tomorrow and i bought it without the MixAmp, as a rainbow six siege player like yourself i think we would be more than fine without the MixAmp, and lastly have you gotten the headset ?

They're made to be used with the mix amp to control volume and all that. And you can still control the chat and audio through the game itself.

they will be fine without the mixup, but the mix amp will allow for a better sound overall

This headset without mixamp is not worth it. With mixamp it changes everything I love my A40
