    I love the fact that you have demonstrated the removal and re-installation processes by crawling under the car and using jack stands. Not everyone has a car lift. I'll be doing the same to my IS in few weeks. Great job.

    I’m in the middle of this process on a rust free Arizona car and will just be reusing the upper control arms. 2 notes for anyone going this route: Rocar makes an upper ball joint for these that can be had for about $50 shipped. Also the bushing that has a lip on it on both sides is actually a 2 piece bushing. I used an air hammer to push it out on both sides pretty easily. The other side is typical, burn it out and make a relief cut. The steel takes much more abuse than the aluminum gs arms poor man mods used but this can be done easily without butchering them!

  • @smlee6290
    @smlee6290 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Just subbed. This encouraged me to order the complete kit (red and yellow) and will be tackling this with my brother. Will definitely have this video on reference but I do have a few questions though.
    1. Is it mandatory to drill and press out the sleeves for any of the rears? Can the bushings fit into the original sleeves?
    2. What is the difference in performance w/ the new bushings in comparison to stock? Do you feel/hear more cabin noise? More vehicle vibrations?
    3. Does the car handle more solid now w/ regards to steering and vehicle control?
    Mines is all stock and at 233K miles, I think I'm on the original gas shocks and bushings as bought the car at 112K miles and don't know the history of that maintenance. The wear/tear is starting to show, so all 4 gas shocks are getting replaced at the same time as these bushings. Thanks so much!

    • @PoorManMods
      @PoorManMods  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks!
      1. The only bushing that may fit in the original sleeve is the lower control arm the bushing that I did around 33:00, i cant promise that i will work with the OEM sleeve though, but it did look possible. Everything else I did in this video regarding sleeve removal is 100% necessary.
      2. Absolutely zero downsides, NVH has not noticeably increased, and the car just feels better. It feels more predictable, less slopping and just more refined. I have not done any high performance driving though, I hope to autoX the car next years.
      I also did all 4 shocks not too long ago (miles wise) With new shocks and all new front and rear bushings the car drives amazing.
      Best of luck with the project!
