This is on my to do list for this winter. Tired of clunks coming from the diff and I know theres some rust to be treated! The only concern I have is how much NVH gets into the cabin from going to solid and poly bushings. If you have any feedback on how it is to drive afterward I'd love to hear it
Just started to remove my 14 year old 126000 mile isf subframe, I've been soaking it with WD40 for 2 weeks before I started and no broken bolts yet. A lot of surface rust to deal with though.
Hello fella. I don't suppose you have a video for the front cross member removal? Got an old IS200, and I'm trying to get the oil sump off and the cross member's in the way... Only have basic tools, no engine hoist, if you need to life the engine I mean.
@@PoorManMods Oh ok, no problem. Do you have any insight for me please. Just from looking at the underneath, can you tell me if it's possible to do this without an engine hoist? 🤔 Such a pain in the fuckin' arse how the sump is longitudinally placed right above the damn cross member. And you can't just loosen the sump and slide it over because of the oil pick up inside it... 🤨😕
Doing the same job on an 04 Highlander, subframe & diff is roughly the same, diff mount bushing are exactly the same. Any tips on dealing with the subframe bushings & fasteners bolting them to the body? 20 year old car in the rust belt, may be seized. Been hitting it with penetrant weekly. Really dreading dropping the subframe but bushings all need be changed. The bushings where the diff mounts i already got a tool for, should be easy. The bushings mounting them to the body, dreading those bolts! :/
Not sure if penetrating lube will do much help because of their mounting orientation unfortunately. This car was a 250,000 mile rust belt car also. Just use a big breaker bar when trying to break them loose and make sure the car is nice and secure when doing so.
Thanks! with the subframe out i would recommend doing the at least the upper control arm bushings and replacing the arms themselves if they are super rusty like mine, as they are very hard to get to with it in the car. But i did all of the control arm, diff and subframe bushings.
Hello. Does the is200 subframe fit on is300? My is300 is broken from accident, and i cannot find subframe for is300 in my country, but i can get for is200. will it fit ?
Nice I need to drop the subframe on my first gen gs300 hopefully it’s the same
This is that guy right here 💯
oooo yeahhhhh :p
Greatest video of all time

Is it not a problem to weld over? Does it not expand in any direction?

Hey I would like to know what will make a 2007 rx350 lexus rock from side to side like in a boat
something is likely either wrong with one of the sway bars, or one or more of your shocks could be bad
I have the same car. I'd look at both your struts and then your subframe mounts

Do u have a link for subframe support brackets and other parts please
Do you do this job for hire? With the powder coating?
No, i typically only work on my own vehicles
Hey man great vid, do you have any other recommendations of things to do while the subframe is out?
Thanks! with the subframe out i would recommend doing the at least the upper control arm bushings and replacing the arms themselves if they are super rusty like mine, as they are very hard to get to with it in the car. But i did all of the control arm, diff and subframe bushings.
Is the is300 subframe the same as the gs300 ?
i doubt it

I'm not sure, I wouldn't imagine they're the same
yes, is200 toyotas lexus is300 are interchangable in terms of non-engine related parts
How long it take to dismantle?
A few hours
*How much did the sandblasting and zinc coating cost?*
Like $50 i think
How much power can the diff and subframe handle?
i have no idea
Thanks for the video. Quick question my 01 Lexus GS 300 rear subframe bushing squeaks you wouldn’t know where I could buy the part
Thanks! Not sure where to get gs300 bushings, never looked into it
first
Hells yeah
