  • It's finally done...600+ individual clips with over 1000 cuts, I have here the ENTIRE process from start to finish of my Sc300’s rear subframe restoration!
    This was done completely impromptu in terms of order of operations.
    I know there could’ve been easier or more efficient ways to do things, but this is how it went doing it my way...
    Here are some time stamps for those who can’t afford to watch the whole video in one go:

    I watched this twice and beyond impressed with your quality work and attention to detail. Your video inspired me to do the same for my 94 Lexus SC300 also. I registered to take some automotive classes at the local community college to gain some knowledge and know how then go for it. Congratulations on job well done gents!

    You guys inspired me to do bushing change in rear subframe and diff in my z30 soarer. Soo couple tips:
    1. In case if your abs sensor seized to the knuckle you can unplug it from the trunk.
    2. In case you don't have movable cart to put subframe to you can use piece of wood to not scratch the floor and move subframe easier.
    3. When you removing metal part around the bushing make 2 notches with 10-20mm in between (no more otherwise it will be much harder to knock it out). Then use hammer and chisel or flat screwdriver to knock out this thin piece of metal line. Rest of the metal part came out very easy.
    Also used strongflex bushings, really love them. But I hate they don't have any instruction. Like you can guess most of the stuff, but anyway it would be nice to have some sort of instruction.

    Important! At 17:43 are you should use oem washer to hold inner metal part in place. I see later down the video you installed it, but if somebody using your video as I guide (and I did) it could be misleading.

      Poly bushings add more control and feel to everything with a little more firmness. However, they need maintained and lubricated more often than people think. After about 8 years my front UCA/LCA grease dried out and the arms were basically seized and only moved from the car's weight. I should have maintained them better to begin with and if I did it again I would install zerk fittings to keep them greased every 10-15k miles maybe?

    doing a similar job right now, I assume those bushings are the road bushings from strongflex, I was wondering if you'd recommend the road(red) or the race bushings(yellow), I doubt it makes much of a difference but I just don't want it too hard or too soft.

      I’d definitely go red if you just want a stiff not dailyable feel. They feel solid and I know not as stiff as the yellows

    Hi there, it's been a while, how are the Tein coilovers holding up? Also, which brand did you get? I'm looking to get some for my 99 Lexus SC300. Do I need to run a camber kit? Thanks in advance!

    It's me again... I have a question about rear subframe bushings. Stud on which you put bushing is rounded on the sides and flat top and bottom. OEM bushing reflect this form and has no play. strongflex one is just rounded and has decent amount of play top to bottom. Do you experience any noises after installing stronglex?

    • @2jway
      @2jway  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yea no sound. Just grease everything well should be fine

      I also have an entire strongflex.us kit in my Lexus, mounted on the grease from the bushings kit and I don't hear any noises.
