I bought my basic Roomba at a big box store fall of 2018. I admit I had low expectations for it. My first amazement was the first time under the bed cleaning. It kept going for about an hour and I had to empty the bin about 3 times. No pets either. Over the years I have come to love it, and am really impressed how it survives jams, clogs and running over shoe laces and still lives on. We have dropped it a few times over the years while emptying the bin and it has fallen about 3 feet onto our outdoor deck and rolled down 3 steps and headed off towards the pond when we caught up with it. Other than a few scratches it was unfazed. I don't mind not having a floor plan on it. Only one of my rooms could use it but I make do. I will say you convinced me that the wash feature sounds good and my next one might be that. I will stay with the Roomba brand, I love it.

Things I like to see you do in 2024, if the budget allows it...I like to see you do Canister Vacs..Last I see was 4 years ago and back then you did some tests on the "Luxury" brands (Sebo, Miele), which I wish saw more often if new models come out from them..
Also even though I know your not a repair channel, how are the reparability of these vacs you test? such as available parts? You have Shark as some of your best, but I read all other places Sharks are the WORST when it comes to getting repair to the point you can't and you have to buy another one..
I give you props on how big your channels has grown since the day I saw your first review of the robot vac and hope you expand even bigger! Thank You!

The vacuums I purchased in 2024 are the Dyson v8 Absolute (newer version) it was on sale on dysons website for $329.00 from 599.99 - Dyson Ball Animal 3 from target for $499.00 and Tineco S3 Extreme from bestbuy for $399.00. The V8 replaced a Waze cordless vacuum. - The Ball Animal 3 replaced a Bissell Cleanview and the Tineco S3 replaced a Crosswave (corded). I am thinking about replacing my carpet shampooer with the Tineco iCarpet.. I have a bissell currently I’m unsure what model but I know I bought it after you said it was good lol

    What about… a canister vacuum?
    Pros:
    1. No filters to clean
    2. Bags are dirt cheap
    3. Plenty of replacement parts and nearly no maintenance
    4. Very lightweight to carry
    5. Powerful
    6. Very affordable
    Cons:
    1. Not as sexy as a stick vacuum
    2. Takes a little more space in your closet
    3. Takes a little bit of time to take out for a small mess
Good reason why the professional cleaning industry still uses canisters

      2. Bags are dirt cheap, but generate so much waste and are brand specific
      3. Depends on the brand
      4. I have never had a cannister vacuum that I enjoyed carrying.
      5. absolutely
      6. true
      re:cons:
      1. true
      2. true
      3. hate the 2 minutes it takes out my cannister. It might seem trivial, but it becomes a hassle when you need to vacuum everyday for some stupid spill in a house with 4 siblings
      4. No rolling brush to agitate carpets.

I made my last purchase based upon your recommendation and have forever REGRETTED IT. The Shark Duo vacuum is only SOSO, the wand attachments are completely incompatible with ALL of the other brands out there, and the only reason for this is to SQUEEZE me for more money. I have a home that requires I used hose attachments all over the place to get into the nooks and crannies and none of them will work. Adapters don't work either, I have TONS of hoses and now none of them work with Shark.

I recently borrowed an older dyson cordless stick vac (can't remember if it was a v6 or v8) to try before buying one. My partner disliked it for a reason I've not seen mentioned by anyone reviewing them. The issue being where the air blows out of the handle. Due to the design of the handle and where the vents are, the air blows out sideways and can blow onto your arm (depending on how you hold it), which she found annoying. I also borrowed an LG cordzero of my mother and it doesn't have this issue as the handle is at the top of the main body (not halfway up like on the dyson) and the vent is on the top of the body so it points away from you. I've noticed that a lot of the new dysons still run a similar design, so they are pretty much ruled out of the choices now. I'm going to have another look at the samsung jet vs90. It has vents out the side like the dysons, but the handle is at the top like the LG, so I'll see if it still annoys her.

This is an awesome comparison video - perfect timing as I'm looking for a new vacuum. However, in my searches for comparisons and reviews, it's been super hard to find anything on CORDED stick vacuums. I love the ease-of-use and compactness of the stick vacuums, but am not a fan of the batteries...for the overall weight and how quickly they run out of power when using at full suction. Can you please do "honorable mentions" under the stick vacuums when you do a big Buying Guide video?

    • @kc5077
      @kc5077 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

Yes, there aren't many corded stick vacuums. Basically, your choices are Bissell and Shark and most don't have a hepa filter. I don't think there will be many models because most people want cordless freedom and there is more profit in more expensive cordless vacuums. Ditching the battery you get more power and avoid run time limits and battery degradation. If you are open to canister vacuums they open up a lot of choices and the handle weight is very light the Miele C1 Pure Suction is great all around for hard floors and minimal rugs. If you want something more upright check out the Kenmore Intuition Lite BU3040, it's a compact lightweight vacuum with hepa bags.

4:30 the carpet brush head is as good for hard floors. the soft roller brush head is e-waste as you will have to change heads between floor types

The brush roller cleaning station accessory for upright vacuums it’s dock with hot wash as it charges and auto empties 😂. Same tech as robotic ones just in a upright

So, I have a roidmi F8, called s1 here for some reason. There aren't many available brands here, mainly Xiaomi, roidmi, Bosch, Samsung, etc. Is there any reason to buy a more recent one at a similar price? The roidmi F8 Storm cost 220 dollars aprox. There is also shark here, however it's about 50% more expensive than the roidmi, and tineco is also like 30% more money, even though they should be comparable IMO.

Probably a dumb question- But we have a Rugable which is bascally flat. We also have a German Shepherd. His hair sticks to this dang carpet like static cling. Currenly Using Shark with both roller brushes and it never gets all the hair. Any recomendations for this type of carpet and actually removing hair??

I got a Shark Vertex Upright on Amazon refurbished one absolutely was in love. It truly was the most powerful vacuum I had ever used. It lasted 9 months and we found out Shark vacuums cannot be repaired. The brush roller stopped rolling and we tried removing screws and it will not allow. I would like to know what vacuum any brand that will compare for under $300. Thank you so very much in advance for your time.

Good video like always. Just keep in mind that in Europe almost no one uses uprights. Canister vacuums are way to go in EU countries and now cordless stick vacs with them. In EU cordless is fine because we don't almost never have wall to wall carpets. But for a lot of carpets cordless "homes" needs real full size vacuum with powered brush roll to deep clean time to time.

My 3 year old shar Apex with
" lift away" has developed so much play that the high speed mode for the brush roll quit.
The green power light stays on so support says that nothing is wrong.
Really worked great for two years.
Will not ever waste money on a "Throw-away".
You guys choosing Shark as a top model destroys you cred.

Hey I had the same problem and I found out that the problem was with the wand, the customer service person had me test, told me to take the wand off and to plug the handle directly into the floor piece vacuum piece and it worked perfectly fine, but the replacement parts were discontinued. so what I did was I went on eBay and purchased a wand for my replacement Apex vacuum and I’ll let you know how it goes if it works.

I need vacuum help! I had an older Shark where you could pop off a piece of plastic to access the fin roller better to clean. My brand new Shark doesn't have this feature. There was a rock lodged under the fin roller, and I broke the damn thing trying to access the roller to get the rock out. Why would they remove this feature to easily get under the fin roller!!
