As someone who’s ridden with ya know I can tell you with absolute confidence that you’re gonna need to replace those turn signal bulbs much sooner than normal 😆
So fun to see pritchett canyon again.... I've done it a couple of times, but it's been years since I've ridden it despite coming to Moab every year since 2012. At 28:50, when you dumped your bike, all I could think was, "Yep..... that's Moab!". 🤣 That spot was where I re-tore my ACL about 8 years ago. Awesome footage. We'll probably do that run next year..... your video inspired me. 👍👍
Stoked you liked the video dude!! Man that ACL tear must’ve been a rough one 😬😮💨 I felt lucky since I was able to recover from that. It’s mind blowing how it doesn’t look like a bad injury, but falling on those rocks are no joke! That actually was the exact same spot where the group ahead of me had their rider break his arm!! Maybe that one rock wall is cursed?? I’m glad I inspired you to take on Pritchett again! Stay safe and keep the rubber side down 🤟🏼
Just rode this trail today, it maxed out my brothers skills level, you got some big balls doing this by your self hats off to you, be safe out there brother
Unfreaking believable... You have ballz. I have to get out west. My son and I both own 24 501's on the East coast. His is stock, mine's totally Taco'ed out. Yesterday he took mine for a quick spin (to feel the difference) with his son on a SX65 as I looked on. Unfortunately he's in bed now mending a broken clavicle and ribs. My advice to him was "be prepared to fall every single time you go out but never let it stop you, it's part of the sport". I'm 62 and I think I have Evel Knievel beat on broken bones, lol. Keep up the good work. I think you need to splice some of your videos together, narrate the story make a movie like "On any Sunday". You can call it "On any terrain" 👍
Glad you liked the video!! The riding out west is absolutely top notch! The 501 series has gotta be the greatest model that husky came up with. I absolutely love these bikes and I'm guessing you're the same with your 501 lol. What mods are you running? Hopefully your son heals up quick!! Injuries are a significant part of the sport and I agree that you just have to learn to accept the risks.. Thats a heck of a record to break by the way lol Its funny, you aren't the first to tell me to make an "on any sunday" type of video! I actually have an "on any sunday" sticker on one of my camera cases!
that's a funny story, true tho, about expecting to fall every time lol.. I'm young and rode as a kid, ive finally got back into the sport on a yz426, got it for cheap, runs good. but first real day out on it I fell over like a moron just trying to start the thing, heard a pop in my ankle, managed to start the bike still and rode around all day, had a blast. I sit down for a water break and when I go to stand back up is when it hits me and I realize, yep, something is probably wrong with my ankle lol. Just sprained it and I've since been back out, can't let a new intimidating bike scare you, I love the power on this thing lol. and I've purchased a nice pair of riding boots which I should've had from the beginning, ready to have a lot of fun on this thing
I remember breaking a kickstarter gear on that trail in the late 80s. Flopped the XR on its side, removed the cover, snaked out 2 pieces of the gear, put the case back on and rode for 3 more days. I got really good at Bumb starting that bike.
Nice! Loved watching and know PC well. Love UT! Especially Moab.... Whether in my Jeep, Raptor, KTM 300 or MTB its an amazing place and tops for retirement home to settle. Well done! 👍👍
Thanks! Moab has quickly made its way high up on my list of top places to ride now! Doesn't matter if you're on 2 wheels or 4, theres something fun to do. Definitely a cool place to retire I bet too.
Great job! I’ve just recently found your channel and love the content, very similar to my style of riding. I’m headed there in October and am definitely gonna try that trail on my 500. Looks super fun! I ride solo a lot as well and it’s a different game when doing it on that type of terrain. I’ve been running Moose bibs and absolutely love them out here in the desert, they eat through rocks and sand with piece of mind. I hate flats and carrying tubes and irons/spoons on my little bikes. Again great job out there!
Thanks dude!! Stoked you like the channel! October is gonna be a KILLER time to ride in that area on your 5-hundo. I agree, solo riding is its own different style and you just gotta be so self reliant for everything. I have a set of moose tubeless inserts, but I just havnt bit the bullet and installed them cuz I still ride alot on street and worry about overheating the inserts. Have you had any issues with it?
@@madjack_757 Yea man keep the content coming! I had issues with the non Michelin bibs, I try to only ride trails but occasionally ride slab, they are a bit shaky over 45 on the slab, I keep it a 35 and don’t go more that 5 to 10 miles at a time, yea the heat is bad. I did put a good amount of miles on the highway in Colorado @ 40 miles in 2 days and had no issues. They are a real pain to try and install and get the tires bead to seat so I just have my local shop do the install. Busted a lot of knuckles trying lol. But I will never try tubes again unless I do a long bdr run. I run them with the Golden tyres and feel like I’m cheating, they hook on rocks and deep sand. The rear bib will last 2 tires, the front tire last so long I just replace the bibs with them to avoid any issues.
you go on some awesome rides , Utah is going to be next for me, ive done Death Valley , Alabama Hills, Clear Creek , Arizona Peace trail and several others, really enjoy your videos
This is sweet. Just got a dual sport and can’t wait to take it down to Moab. Definitely not ripping whatever this trail is but stoked to explore around
I love you put “on a dual sport” in the caption as though it’s harder. The FE501 is an enduro dirtbike with turn signals and it is in my top 10 choices for a cross desert enduro bike.
Great riding I could tell that you for the most part had fun especially after you got warmed up halfway through the video I could tell that's when you got better. I ride solo a lot too especially now that I'm out here near Laughlin Hills. Would love to make it up to Moab sometime and ride. Thanks for the video!
Glad you liked the video man!! I definitely took a second to warm up, but I had an absolute blast Solo riding is so awesome and I always think it’s funny when people tell me I’m crazy for doing it lol Definitely get out to Moab if you get the chance dude!!!
All the big bore guys are here! 😂 just picked up a 500 xcw myself, what a step in the right direction from my old cr500. You should also check out the 5 miles of hell trail on one of your Utah trips!
Loooove my big bores. I can never go back after gettin used to how they feel lol. Initially I actually planned on doing 5MOH while I was down there this past trip. I opted not to do it tho cuz I was riding solo and this trail had pushed my comforts specifically for riding solo. Next time, I am gonna go down there with a crew and try to tackle 5MOH!
Wise choice for that trail! You will be good to go with your bark busters, just plan on picking her up a few times 😅 If you can make it past the crux without dumping it at least once, I commend you!
My CR500 have pro circuit port jobs and pipes. With suspension mods and steering dampers. From back in the day. I'm adding a 200 watt lighting coil to the second one. I think I'd rather get a bad case of herpagonasyphilaids and ride one of your four strokes!
Nice. I loved my 95 cr500, had it set up just right to slay trails. I just didn't care for the close ratio transmission. It would be sweet to find one of the old wide ratio kits they used to make for them!
15:40 yeah, when you said 17 psi at the beginning of the video, I was thinking, "that's a lot! I run about 8 psi." I ride a lighter bike though, so I'm less worried about smashing a rim. Those heavy bikes are brutal after the third or fourth time you've picked it up after tipping over. I'm enjoying having this on in the background though, trying to bore my 3 year old to sleep haha.
Your content is always so well done! I have the 501s also and was just in Moab for the Dusty Lizard…Did not try this trail..thankfully!😮. Do you have aftermarket suspension? I highly recommend the Rekluse clutch…it takes a little to get used to but man it’s like a cheat code for bikes! Thanks for posting!
Thanks so much dude!! I missed out on dusty lizard and I wish I went.. I was in the area while the event was going on but I just didn’t make it sadly. I actually have stock suspension and the stock clutch still.. I really gotta make the upgrades when I get a bit more money in my pocket 🤟🏼
Just got back from Moab myself, and I have yet to do that canyon after many years of going there. I know it's brutal. A good adventure ride, if you like scenery is the White Rim Trail. It's easy but it's a 110 mile loop through the Canyon Lands NP. A good technical single track is the Sovereign Trail system north of town. I like hitting up the usual Sand Flats area with Hells Revenge, Slick Rock Trail, Fins and Things and Porcupine Rim. Also Poison Spider and Golden Spike have some great technical stuff. Love Moab!
Right on dude! That canyon is a mean one for sure.. funny you mention it, I was going to actually film white rim but I was having to jump through half a dozen bureaucratic hoops to get filming permits for out there and I ended up bailing on that project 🥲 I rode some of those other trails too and have some videos coming up for em!!
Most people don't understand. A CR500 2-stroke with a port job & pipe is a beautiful thing. Pulls like an IT200 at low end. Mid-range and top end is not for the faint of heart. Come out if a corner at the bottom of first, click third, launch into the whoops, then skip across the top! Totally cheating.
@@RonLohman13 yeah I heard you just gotta keep up the momentum and most people talk about getting past a “crux” and that it’s the hardest part of the ride. A two stroke bike is a must have for it tho so it seems.
Pritchett is no joke, especially uphill on a big 4t! Kudos.. ! And 17 psi lol wow that makes it soo much harder but I understand with tubes.. Hopefully you get to ride it one day on a 300 2 stroke with 4-5psi tubliss or soft mousse - night and day..!
Dude it was a gnarly ride.. one of the toughest of my life for sure. I can imagine if I were riding a 300 with some tubeless inserts, it would feel like a night and day difference to ride 🤟🏼🤟🏼
It kind of drives me crazy to watch these videos. Cause I know the visual depiction and the viewers perception of terrain and angles is so starkly different from reality. I constantly feel like I could do better at obstacles or that I'd hit them much harder or different... but I know it's completely different in person! It makes me want to ride it so freaking bad though!😅 I wanna see if I'd do any differently! Love your footage though, 90% of people's uploads I can't even watch cause they make me nauseous from the jumpy resolution or framerate or... whatever.🤷 Keep em comin, ride safe and with company as often as you can!👍
That rock pile at min 26:58 I stepped back as I fell back. Twisted my ankle bad and could barely ride out of there. Turned black and blue the next day. Right where you stepped back and fell on side of rock
Dude those rock piles are absolutely lethal.. that’s how I messed up my knee in the video! I put my foot down and my boot got stuck in the rocks and then boom gravity does the rest.. you’re lucky you rode outta that dude 🤟🏼🤟🏼
That an't no BDR! Hope your knee is healing up fast, that's a horrible feeling, you did great to push on and not complain about it although it was obvious you were 'carrying' it all the way back to the hwy. Ride On!
Those rocks at 11 & 12 minutes in would be great on a trials bike, I rode trials for 20+ years in Washington loved the rocks, even though ours were always wet.
Hey bud, I hit up moab for the first time on an old, flame-out-ey, 2005 ktm 450 (cousin's loaner). I didn't do slick rock, but a lot of other trails, it can get tricky out there. But the views are sick as hell every direction you look. FYI, if you've not remapped the fuel on your 501, I just did it this past week and went riding yesterday on some mad hills in CA where they do the big hill climb competitions, and holy crap it blew my head off. Bike was so capable, it makes inclines and getting over obstacles so much easier, even at the very last second. If you've not, try it before going back to such terrain!
Right on dude! Are you running like a TMC ECU or something? As the channel does better, I will probabkly keep upgrading my husky and thats definitely on the list.
@@madjack_757 I went with the Taco Moto guys GET SX1 ECU. I looked at them for a couple years. Then I bought a second ktm 500 (2014 with the european "euro" remapping of the ECU without US restrictions). That bike's engine rode sooo much better than my 22 ktm 500, that I knew I had to get an ECU for the 22 since you can't euromap them. The ECU is even much better it turns out than the euromap. The bike is a freaking monster in the dirt, soooo much better because basically at any throttle angle, there is power. On hill climbs the other day, I was like what happens if I get no momentum and just tractor up. I can do this, then accelerate and shift up mid climb with no momentum, it's ridiculous. But also a big safety thing on hills and with obstacles, since like you it seems, I'm a solo rider so I need the power to be there on hills and obstacles when i need it. Stock wouldn't quite do this for me, even though stock 500 still blew away my older, smaller bikes in this way.
Great Video ! I saw in one of the comments you are using DJI Mini 3 Pro . I don't see the remote controller how do you use it to track you and also control it during the ride ?
Have done Pritchett on my 450, that is tuff stuff to do alone, it is so helpful to have a buddy tugging on the front wheel in those sticky spots 😆 The slickrock has dirt and small rocks on it that make it even harder than it looks in the video.
Oh dude i woulda been so much less stressed if i had a partner to help me clear some of those sections 😂😂 Yeah it’s that tiny layer of silt over everything that makes it so insanely slick! The cameras never do it justice but I try 🤟🏼
Run TUBliss with TireJect...I ran that system in my XR650R on roads etc and it just works. I still run TUBliss, never an issue. Prichett is a fun flowy trail. Sad to see all the stacked rocks 😞
Ran Pritchett many times in my jeep and it’s still my favorite trail in all of Moab and maybe anywhere. May have to run it on my KTM next time. Looks like a ton of fun and a ton of work.
@@madjack_757it’s no joke for sure but still one of the more picturesque canyons in Moab. That exit road is the doldrums in a jeep but I’m sure the bike makes it fly. I’ve been running an 890 Adventure R but recently picked up a 350 exc-f for the more technical stuff. Moab is my backyard so… maybe I’ll catch you out there on your next trip.
@casey3057 right on dude!! That 350 would be an absolute weapon out there! I’ll make a post the next time I head back down south and definitely reach out to me 🤟🏼
@casey3057 thanks for the support man! Stoked for the future videos coming out 🤟🏼 I’ll probably have 6-10 more videos from Utah coming out over the coming weeks 🤙🏼
Very nice, and you are either really ballzy, or a little uninformed about how gnarly that trail was! 😂. Either way, congrats on making it through. We just did Steel bender for the first time, it’s a similar trail, maybe and 8.0 or 8.5. They say in Moab “ bring the exact amount of water you think you will need for the trail, then double it” be safe, ride with at least one other dude, in case you get hurt.
Eh maybe a little of both lol. Thanks for the congrats! I absolutely learnt that water rule on day one.. Never made the mistake of packing too little water again. The tough part of getting a riding partner is that my filming process takes a long time and not everyone wants to stop 50 times to fly the drone you know? If I found a riding partner that was equally as skilled on the bike as they were into the filming, it would be perfect!
Love your videos, very inspirational. I just wish you could put names of trails. Pritchett Canyon is a well-knows, well-marked trail. What's all the secrecy about?
I try to avoid it because when I have a video do well, I often get caught up in arguments on how the area I filmed a video is now going to be swarmed with other people and eventually cause it to be shut down. This is less of the case for UT but in Idaho and a lot of the PNW trails are well kept secrets by locals and I don’t want those trails to be shut down.
Imagine what Moab was like for our crew coming from the wet forests of New England.... I was mind blown and rode around in complete awe for 3 days😎 Me and the crew will be back out there next week to ride some different areas than last time, including this one(Pritchett Canyon), needless to say, we all can not wait to get back out there.
@@madjack_757 ... At least on this trip I'll know what to expect....Hopefully I won't be so awe-struck and I can focus on enjoying the riding more than the scenery 🤣
Really good video footage. Looks like you need about a 50 tooth rear Sprocket to have a lower 1st gear. 6 spd still runs down the hwy well. I have one on my KTM 525. Right when you said that you need to commit more, I was saying the same thing. That terrain is no joke. Why did you tackle this alone?
Thanks! Yeah the challenge is I have geared my bike like a dual sport so it is in between dirt settings and street settings. I think i am currently running a 16/48 but I'd have to check again the next time i'm in my shop. Yeah its really tough with some of those lines and it was a huge learning curve to understand the terrain. I definitely loosened up by the time I finished riding in Moab tho. The reason I rode solo and why I am often riding solo on my channel is that the filming process for some videos is super exhausting. It would be awesome if another video creator was down to collaborate and be riding partners, but it's a lot of work. I probably stopped 2-3 dozen times on the trail to put up the drone or change camera batteries/settings or check how the footage quality was coming out. Someday I'll have a crew to go out and work with but for now its just me 🤟🏻
Cane Springs up to Hole In The Rock, highway burn down Pritchett. 15-20 times, both ways. Momentum is everything and don’t overthink. You did great for first time. It would help to gear down or go Rekluse. Now go do the colored trails and 5 Miles of Hell.
Dude!! ... "MOMENTUM" !! MOMENTUM "IS YOUR FRIEND"!!! Give it some GAS (so you don't stall), feather the clutch (so you don't loop out), stand-up to weight the pegs (lowering the center of gravity), and KEEP going till you're 10-15ft PASSED ALL the obstacles. You keep stopping or stalling in the WORST spots. Same with some of your other videos. Learn to "feather the clutch" and "keep momentum", ... till you're passed all obstacles and on level ground. You'll have a LOT more fun!! ;-) Ending comment: "I have a goal" "What's you're goal?" "To have a goal!" 😆😉
Nice video. Thanks for sharing. Love your measured approach to line choice - so very spicy at 9:14. Curious what you meant by BLM rated 9 out of 10 in difficulty - is there an information source about trails like that or did you mean that as a turn of phrase based on what you had heard and experienced?
Glad you like it! So I can't remember the exact source I found it on, but there was some BLM map or website that had trails and their corresponding difficulty ratings. There were also signs posted all over the entrance to the trail giving an extreme precaution to the people wanting to ride in that area.
You’re pretty brave to be out there riding by yourself! That’s a “NO BUENO” in my eyes. What would you do if you had a major injury or bike breakdown? You would be meat for the Coyotes! 😬🤔
@@madjack_757 I hear ya there! If you enjoy riding AF (American Fork Canyon)… 3 of us ride almost every Friday throughout the summer. You are more than Welcomed if you need some riding buddies….? Good Luck
Did you run out of blinker fluid??? Good ride though- good job- hard 4x4 " ROAD" but not the hardest "trail" out there by far- some of the stuff I have ridden up in that country you need a block and tackle to hoist the bike up cliffs- think being down in that river wash without the road being there.........
Mannnn my blinker fluid reservoir was bone dry when I checked it after the ride. It was a close call.. I think calling Pritchett a “road” is a bit far fetched but I get where you’re coming from lol 😂 what trails are you referring to? Maybe I ought to plan for those for my next trip out there 🤙🏼
Dude props to you being solo. My advice tho the reason your all over those uphills is tire psi. I like running 12.5psi for all terrain. Fast desert seems to work, slow rocks great traction. Anything less riding fast and you’re getting a pinch flat. Carry zip ties and get on that back seat homie.
Yeah I thought about airing down and that probably would’ve been the number to hit. For some reason I was just feeling like since I made it up the first walls, I could do all the others 😂 Thanks for the advice man 🤙🏼
I rode Moab on my 2001 BMW F 650 Dakar last Fall. I’m 71 years old. I sure AF wouldn’t try this. 🙀🙀 You’ve got the right bike for it. 👍🏻👍🏻 I traded my old BMW on a 2020 KTM 690 Enduro R. It’s got a lot more power and a better suspension. But it’s not for a track like this. 👍🏻👍🏻
I am to old to try that trail. (77) I ride a TW200. Even my TW is too high geared for my liking. I went bigger in the back, but it turned my 45 MPH cruising speed to 35 MPH, so I went back to stock. Your 500 is to high geared in first gear for me. I had a 175 Yamaha that had the best 1st gear of any bike that I ever owned. That was a long time ago. LOL My old Yamaha 360s had a boatload of bottom end torque. I would have loved to have ridden those types of trails when I was younger. For those rocky trails in Moab, I will stick to my quad. I do enjoy riding my 200, but, I will take the easy trails for now. Something that I noticed in your video, momentum is king. Once you stop, that is lost. Momentum will let you coast through sections that would be a lot of trouble if you stopped in the middle. Still, you are a much better rider than I am. I liked your video. I would not worry about the whole internet finding out about that trail. There are rescue videos all over the net showing all of these nasty trails. Trailmator goes all over Moab, and he names the trail every time.
I wonder if a tw200 would have been easier for me to ride out there? I bet the lighter weight would have helped. Its funny, I actually used to have a 1974 Yamaha MX125! Momentum is absolutely king on those trails without a doubt. You just have to commit to your lines entirely out there. I wondered if it would be be bad for me to name trails in Moab since most are well discovered, but I also be careful to not become "the guy" who caused trails to get overrun. I've seen some of Trailmator's videos too! Those rescues are gnarly..
@@madjack_757 I use to be a dirt bike riding fool, but when I rode my XT600 for 8 hours, I would be stove-up for 3 days. This was also 30 years ago. At that time, 1990s, I bought a quad for my Wife to ride. I would also ride it from time to time, and I was impressed by where it would go. I eventually bought another one for me. A couple years later, I discovered that I could ride my quad for 8 hours, and the next day ride it for 8 hours again. So I gradually quit riding my 600, and started riding my quads more. After I retired I decided to start riding dirt bikes again. I found a 1994 XT600 in Cali, and went down to pick it up. I was a riding it 2.5 years ago up by Dubois, and was on a 2 track road. I had to go around a tree across the road, and I got off-balance and just tipped over. It took my 25 minutes to figure out a way to lift up that hi-geared Top-heavy monster. I went back to the truck and took it out to my favorite bike shop and had him sell it! My 1986 XT600 was a dirt bike that you could take on the road. That 1994 XT600 was a road bike that you can take to the dirt. There IS a difference. That is when I bought my 2022 TW200. I love riding that little bike. I have done a ton of mods to it, including a rear disc brake. There are a ton of trails here in Idaho, and I do enjoy riding my little T Dub. Maybe we could end up going for a ride together some day. I so enjoy your videos. It makes me want to go riding, if it would EVER QUIT SNOWING!!!!! LOL
I have a TW200, and I was wondering how it would do on this trail too Weight of it is 278 vs. the Husq 501 being 258. I think the TW would suffer with less suspension travel and horsepower. I really like the TW for tougher trails as I can reach the ground so easily, but that might be the only advantage. Is the seat height of the 501 really 37 inches? That seems way too high to get a foot down when you need. Well, I guess you're doing great, but I'd have a lot of trouble.
HA! Thats exactly how I felt after riding this trail! I was out for the next day resting lol. Bikes definitely can get the best of you when you don't have the right machine for the place you're riding.. Funny story, the one time I tried riding ATV's was when I got off work and my old boss had a couple 4 wheelers. Told me we would take a half day and go ride ATV's instead which was great because I was up on rooftops for 8 hours a day in the summer heat. So we go out riding and he takes off like a bat outta hell and I try to keep up with him. It didn't take long before I overshot a corner and went down into the weeds lol. I had to wait at the side of the road for him to come tow me back out hahahaha. That tdub is such a blast I bet! Once the snow melts, I'd love to go for a ride! I'm so glad you're loving the videos too!
I think a 250-300cc would have definitely been ideal. 500s are amazing in a lot of ways but they are definitely their own beast to learn to ride for sure 😂🤟🏼
Great riding and great video my friend. This trail is way over my skill set. Maybe I missed it but what's the name of this trail so I can make sure I don't go there next time I'm in Moab? 🤣
Thanks so much!! If you shoot me an email at madjackmedia.757@gmail.com, then I’ll send ya the trail name! I usually don’t explicitly say the trail online so I can avoid having the whole internet showing up at the trail 😂
Were I to attempt this trail, I'd do it on a Kawasaki KDX 200 2-stroke. At 240 pounds, it's likely nearly 100 pounds less than most 4-strokes on that gnarly trail. I have a KLX 300 (model year 2001, kick start only) but even that would be heavier than I'd want for this track.
I know it may have been hard to make happen buddy ( madjack ), but it simply is not a good idea to ride anywhere like moab by yourself. Could be really bad if you went down hard. Good video though!
I run traction 8 hours on my bike they do good on the road and dirt whatever attraction Nader's are the way to go for tires to do both do anything really brother
I shoot in 4k60, but I think I have set my camera to some custom settings as well. I did it a while back and can't remember what they were lol. Should I make a video about all my cameras and their settings?
@@madjack_757 I haven't seen your InReach, my bad for assuming you didn't have one. I really need to get one because like you, I do a lot of solo riding.
I edited out my comment about the InReach after realizing my comment didn't come across very polite. I honestly need an InReach myself because I do a lot of riding solo too.
Helmet cam is running 4k superwide I believe but I'd have to double check to see if I had it on any special settings. I do most of my editing on footage quality in my software that I edit with. The media mod is a must have dude!! Ever since I got my helmet mic setup and connected w the media mod, I never want to rely on external audio again.
Thanks dude! It was a gnarly one.. that was just video one of probably what will be about 6-10 more videos comin up. Loads of cool content up on the channel too 🤟🏼
@@madjack_757 glad to hear you’re liking the mod. So you runs. Mic mounted inside your helmet as well? I just started poking around with filming my rides and I’m recognizing how important good audio is. And I love the secondary angle from the front fender!
Right on dude! Best advice I could give you is to have multiple angles (plus one camera captures external audio and one captures helmet audio), multiple batteries, and when in doubt, film more than you think you need lol.
@RJvidmoto it’s a definitely a high profile trail! I am just careful of dropping trail names / coordinates online you kno 😂 Which other creator was filming the area??
YES I am aware my turn signal was on for half the video 😂
With the way you had to manhandle that bike, I don't blame you for accidentally hitting the turn signal. 🤣
@genesis344 I’m always bumping my turn signal it’s so annoying 😂🤟🏼

Thats a heck of a record to break by the way lol
Its funny, you aren't the first to tell me to make an "on any sunday" type of video!
That’s so gnarly 😂🤟🏼
Thanks for the incredible ride!
Nice vid Jack! You do a great job showing multiple angles of the tech and I like that. Thanks.
Thanks!
Nice job, enjoyed the video... Love Moab riding.
I'm sure you get this a lot, but your videos...man...freaking awesome. Definitely way outside of my ability, but damn fun to watch!
Thanks! I have high hopes for the channel and just gotta keep getting more content out 🤟🏼
Stoked you liked the video!!!
Took my first 2 stroke through some gnarly terrain for the first time and man was it a workout. I enjoy these vids! Especially while studying.
I feel you on that one man! Some of that technical terrain can be pretty brutal 🤟🏼
I’m stoked you’re liking the channel dude!
Who doesn't love Moab. Nice job and thanks for the memories.
One of the coolest places on Earth!! I'm glad you liked the video!
You can see yourself getting better and more confident towards the end of the ride. Love the video!
Incredible riding! Nice work.
Thanks!!
Great video, you can definitely ride. Moab looks amazing!
Loving it. It's fun to watch the learning curve. Commit and don't overthink! Next up, tight single track, hard Enduro!
Nice riding! I have to get out to Moab and do some exploring.
Thanks! Definitely go explore Moab if you get the chance! It's like riding on Mars over there.
you go on some awesome rides , Utah is going to be next for me, ive done Death Valley , Alabama Hills, Clear Creek , Arizona Peace trail and several others, really enjoy your videos
Thanks man! I'm glad you like the videos!! What are your favorite areas?
SUPER COOL. Another epic ride!!!
🤘🏼🤘🏼
This is sweet. Just got a dual sport and can’t wait to take it down to Moab. Definitely not ripping whatever this trail is but stoked to explore around
I love you put “on a dual sport” in the caption as though it’s harder. The FE501 is an enduro dirtbike with turn signals and it is in my top 10 choices for a cross desert enduro bike.
Have you ever ridden prichett?
Great riding I could tell that you for the most part had fun especially after you got warmed up halfway through the video I could tell that's when you got better. I ride solo a lot too especially now that I'm out here near Laughlin Hills. Would love to make it up to Moab sometime and ride. Thanks for the video!
Glad you liked the video man!! I definitely took a second to warm up, but I had an absolute blast
Solo riding is so awesome and I always think it’s funny when people tell me I’m crazy for doing it lol
Definitely get out to Moab if you get the chance dude!!!
I cant believe you went this alone! Dangerous out there! Highest difficulty I did was Hurrah pass to chicken corners!! You are insano!
26:59 oh SCREW THAT! My days of that kind of riding are behind me. The closest I want to come to that trail is watching your video..
HA! I'm stoked I got to bring you along for the ride!!
Nice technical skills bro. Awesome video!
Thanks man!!

So I’ve heard.. I’ve heard getting past the crux is ridiculously challenging.. someday I’ll do it!!!
Damn that looks way too hard. Nice riding.
That stabilizer in the fender cam definitely gets a workout 🤣
Dude you have no idea hahahahaha. I replace that camera mount (and camera) all the time lol
@madjack_757 is it just a stick-on mount? If so, have you tried screwing it to the fender instead?
Just got back from Moab myself, and I have yet to do that canyon after many years of going there. I know it's brutal. A good adventure ride, if you like scenery is the White Rim Trail. It's easy but it's a 110 mile loop through the Canyon Lands NP. A good technical single track is the Sovereign Trail system north of town. I like hitting up the usual Sand Flats area with Hells Revenge, Slick Rock Trail, Fins and Things and Porcupine Rim. Also Poison Spider and Golden Spike have some great technical stuff. Love Moab!
Right on dude! That canyon is a mean one for sure.. funny you mention it, I was going to actually film white rim but I was having to jump through half a dozen bureaucratic hoops to get filming permits for out there and I ended up bailing on that project 🥲
I rode some of those other trails too and have some videos coming up for em!!
I've done that trail, nice ride. All that high mounted weight is not doing you any favors. Lower tire pressures really help too.
That was gnarly! Cool video.
🤟🏼🤟🏼
This along with 5 miles of hell is on my bucket list on a CR500.
Man that trail is LETHAL.. I’ve wanted to ride it too but I bet on that 500 it would be NUTS!
@@madjack_757 I've heard it's really not that bad, the main thing is you just never get a break as it's just constant rough terrain.
@@RonLohman13 yeah I heard you just gotta keep up the momentum and most people talk about getting past a “crux” and that it’s the hardest part of the ride. A two stroke bike is a must have for it tho so it seems.
Intense riding, impressive ride.
@@madjack_757 hope ya heal well dude! We just got back from Green River/Moab last weekend and ride 5MOH. Video just put out a little while ago
@CoolEyeColorado I gotta check out that video dude! I’m tryna ride 5MOH someday!
That an't no BDR! Hope your knee is healing up fast, that's a horrible feeling, you did great to push on and not complain about it although it was obvious you were 'carrying' it all the way back to the hwy. Ride On!
Thanks! It’s feelin better, but I was struggling to finish that trail for sure.. I’m glad I made it out 🤟🏼
Soo sick dude! Seeing how difficult this was on a dual sport just shows for me even more how difficult what Matt Spears did on the Busa
Dude its pretty impressive he ripped this trail with a sport bike!! Like i am so shocked that bike didnt split in half after the trail hahahaha
17psi and a 501 that's a tough ride!
Definitely beat me up 😂
I love the big ass torquey tractors. I ride an old 525exc and love it on tight technical riding. Looks like a blast.
Same here! Once I got used to the big bore motors I don’t want to go back lol 😂
Those rocks at 11 & 12 minutes in would be great on a trials bike, I rode trials for 20+ years in Washington loved the rocks, even though ours were always wet.
Oh man a trials bike would have been the perfect bike for that canyon 🤟🏼
@franknunez7204 alright alright take my money I’m sold 😂😂😂
Great Video !
I saw in one of the comments you are using DJI Mini 3 Pro .
I don't see the remote controller how do you use it to track you and also control it during the ride ?
Love Moab! Favorite trail is Metal Masher😎🤙🏻 So fun!
Moab is so freakin awesome!! I never got to ride that trail, but someday I'll be back!
I saw someone’s Utah BDR and parts were impassable because of mud.
Too nargly for me 🤙🏻 Another great video 😊
I’ve heard a few war stories of the mud out there and I’m sure it’s no joke..
Have done Pritchett on my 450, that is tuff stuff to do alone, it is so helpful to have a buddy tugging on the front wheel in those sticky spots 😆
The slickrock has dirt and small rocks on it that make it even harder than it looks in the video.
Oh dude i woulda been so much less stressed if i had a partner to help me clear some of those sections 😂😂
Yeah it’s that tiny layer of silt over everything that makes it so insanely slick! The cameras never do it justice but I try 🤟🏼
I rode this a few weeks ago, there was only 2 sections I would consider very hard.
I feel like you need to ride a liittle harder and trust your bike and skills more. awesome video!
Thanks for sharing your feelings
Run TUBliss with TireJect...I ran that system in my XR650R on roads etc and it just works. I still run TUBliss, never an issue. Prichett is a fun flowy trail. Sad to see all the stacked rocks 😞
I’ll have to try out a setup like that🤟🏼
Pritchett? Flowy??? 😂😂😂
Ran Pritchett many times in my jeep and it’s still my favorite trail in all of Moab and maybe anywhere. May have to run it on my KTM next time. Looks like a ton of fun and a ton of work.
It’s one of the gnarliest I ever had the chance to ride!! Such a killer experience but yeah a massive amount of work 😮💨
What KTM are ya runnin?
@@madjack_757it’s no joke for sure but still one of the more picturesque canyons in Moab. That exit road is the doldrums in a jeep but I’m sure the bike makes it fly. I’ve been running an 890 Adventure R but recently picked up a 350 exc-f for the more technical stuff. Moab is my backyard so… maybe I’ll catch you out there on your next trip.
@casey3057 right on dude!!
That 350 would be an absolute weapon out there! I’ll make a post the next time I head back down south and definitely reach out to me 🤟🏼
@@madjack_757 100% will do. safe travels. Rad content. Just subbed. 🤘
@casey3057 thanks for the support man! Stoked for the future videos coming out 🤟🏼
I’ll probably have 6-10 more videos from Utah coming out over the coming weeks 🤙🏼
@@madjack_757 Yeah, I'm aware of the issue in other areas. But the secret's out in Moab. Keep up good work.
Oh I can imagine it was a complete shock to see how different the terrain is!! It’s just an entirely new world of riding out there 🤟🏼🤟🏼
@@madjack_757 ... At least on this trip I'll know what to expect....Hopefully I won't be so awe-struck and I can focus on enjoying the riding more than the scenery 🤣
@painsrides3616 😂🤟🏼
Someday I'll have a crew to go out and work with but for now its just me 🤟🏻
Nice ride!
Cane Springs up to Hole In The Rock, highway burn down Pritchett. 15-20 times, both ways. Momentum is everything and don’t overthink. You did great for first time. It would help to gear down or go Rekluse. Now go do the colored trails and 5 Miles of Hell.
Thanks! Funny thing, I was planning on doing 5MOH, but after doing prichett, i decided to hold off until my bike and I were better set lol
Been there, done that, now i never have anything to prove again! Its a butt kicker!
Beast of a ride
Dude!!
You'll have a LOT more fun!! ;-)
Ending comment:
"I have a goal"
"What's you're goal?"
"To have a goal!" 😆😉
The challenge is finding a riding partner that appreciates the filming process too 🤙🏼
@@madjack_757 I hear ya there!

I think calling Pritchett a “road” is a bit far fetched but I get where you’re coming from lol 😂
what trails are you referring to? Maybe I ought to plan for those for my next trip out there 🤙🏼
Dude..i rode this last year and video does NO justice. It was fun but kick our ass
I agree! I’ve had a few people tell me how I’m riding poorly in the video and I’m like man I’m trying my best out there 😂😂😂
@@madjack_757 you did a good job . Esp with that big Ole 501. We went back down preitcherd caynon and my buddy tore his acl. Careful out there man!

Did you see Matt Spears while you were out there? He put up a video yesterday of him riding Pritchet Canyon on his Hayabusa.

Great Video,, you are a very humble rider. Is this ride similiar to Lockhart basin?
Thank you! I never got the chance to get all the way to Lockhart basin, but I believe Lockhart is a little bit easier than this.
@@madjack_757 I need to conquer both of these rides ,,
That was a workout!
It was a tough one!!
I had a blast doing Pritchet in my Jeep. I wouldn't dare on my FE501. The gopro does not do this justice at all.
It’s a gnarly one I can tell you that 😂🤟🏼
You need a Rekluse and a Scott's! Helps alot!
Definitely upgrades I ought to consider!!
For some reason I was just feeling like since I made it up the first walls, I could do all the others 😂
Thanks for the advice man 🤙🏼
17 is highway pressure. 12 would definitely have made the day a little better.
@pdrhound yeah I agree it probably would have
I rode Moab on my 2001 BMW F 650 Dakar last Fall. 👍🏻👍🏻

@@madjack_757I’m really enjoying this video. I just subscribed to your channel. 👍🏻👍🏻
@catdaddy3302 I’m glad you like it! I have alot more content from Utah on the way 🤙🏼
I am to old to try that trail.
LOL
@@madjack_757 By the way, thanks for the reply.
I think a 250, would have been my bike of choice. The husky was struggling with the low rpm
I think a 250-300cc would have definitely been ideal. 500s are amazing in a lot of ways but they are definitely their own beast to learn to ride for sure 😂🤟🏼
X-12 hill climb next week in Northern Utah
I’ve never been! What’s the event like?
Area BFE makes pritchett canyon look like an amateur trail. and its just a little further outside of town. just south.
I’ve never heard of area BFE. Is it a part of 5 MOH?
What is the name of the trail u r on this video which is so difficult.... thank u.
Shoot me an email and I can send ya trail info!
@@madjack_757 Will do. BTW, loved the drone shots. Looking forward to part 2!
@fairplayrandy awesome! The drone footage is my favorite too 🤟🏼
Were I to attempt this trail, I'd do it on a Kawasaki KDX 200 2-stroke. At 240 pounds, it's likely nearly 100 pounds less than most 4-strokes on that gnarly trail. I have a KLX 300 (model year 2001, kick start only) but even that would be heavier than I'd want for this track.
A kdx200 would be absolutely perfect for that trail! They’re so lightweight and nimble 🤟🏼
@@madjack_757 One drawback of the KDX is that it's kickstart only.
@osimnod at least it’s a two stroke though! Kicking a 4 stroke would be a whole other story 😂
I know it may have been hard to make happen buddy ( madjack ), but it simply is not a good idea to ride anywhere like moab by yourself. Could be really bad if you went down hard. Good video though!
I run traction 8 hours on my bike they do good on the road and dirt whatever attraction Nader's are the way to go for tires to do both do anything really brother
need a ROCON for Pritchett canyon
Those things are sick 😂🤟🏼
What GoPro settings are you using? The footage looks amazing
I shoot in 4k60, but I think I have set my camera to some custom settings as well. I did it a while back and can't remember what they were lol. Should I make a video about all my cameras and their settings?
@@madjack_757 yes, definitely. I’ll bet there’s plenty of of people that would like to know how to get as good a footage as you
@HardcoreSpainAdventure thanks so much! I’ll try to get a video out on my camera setup!
Time for some high end knee braces. I need to replace the ones I have because they are pretty much toast.
That knee brace would have been amazing lol. I LOVE my in reach by the way. It gives me so much peace of mind to have.
@@DualSportDoug oh you're totally fine, I didn't register it as not polite at all. I highly recommend that In-Reach tho!!
Are you using a Skydio for your drone shots?
I use a DJI Mini 3 Pro!
Would a 300 2 stroke been a better choice of motorcycle
Absolutely would have been a better choice
What's the ride? Or trail name? Area name? I've only mt biked in Moab.
The trail name might be floating in the comments somewhere, but if you shoot me an email, I can send ya trail details.
Nice ride!! What settings are you using on your helmet GoPro? And have you liked the media mod?
Incredible to take a 500 up that as your first trail in the area! I’m gonna have to check the rest of your channel out!
Full send buuuuddddy
This is great! Love Moab. Specifically which trail?
Glad ya liked the video!
Shoot me an email and I’ll give ya the trail info 🤙🏼
@@madjack_757 Will do...I think I know the trail. Looks very familiar and another recent post of another YT'er.
@RJvidmoto it’s a definitely a high profile trail! I am just careful of dropping trail names / coordinates online you kno 😂
Which other creator was filming the area??
@@madjack_757 Look up KTM's video "Mastering the Utah Trails with Chris Birch". ;-)
@CurtisBrandt I’ll check it out 🤘🏼
