🚨 ANNOUNCEMENT 🚨 There was a mistake in the scheduling of the Cliffhanger videos, so they’re out of order :/ Both videos are now currently available though 🤙🏼
Stabilization tech has come suuuuuch a long way! I think having the fender camera adds a really important layer for the video too. Stoked you like the content man!
I do my best to give myself a run up, but a lot of times there’s either not space or I’m trying to start from an area where I at least have some traction. Plus, this was really my first experience riding slick rock, so it’s a bit of a learning curve for me! I’m not perfect lol 😂
@@madjack_757 No room for mistakes with that cliff. Momentum can quickly turn into a free fall down the ravine. I love how Madjack plays it safe. Riding alone with a heavy bike is not the time to show off.
Thanks! I got a few more trail videos on the way including PS and KC! I totally agree too, the cameras never do it justice no matter how hard I try.. Its one thing to see it on video, its another to go ride in the area.
I love your videos, in general, and this one, in particular. No shame in being extra safe. It's also very encouraging, at least for me, to see others muscle their bikes over steps, like I do. Thanks for not editing out those parts.
I’m glad you liked the video!! I think it’s easy to try and cut out the ‘real’ parts of the ride but the reality is we’re all mortal here there’s no shame in it!
Get some rad guards. I broke the nipple off my radiator first ride. They don't totally save you from my experience, mine still get damage but not busted. I had a chance to ride slick rock in southern utah and loved it. Soo much grip compared to east TN rock and mud. Also lower than street pressure is better for traction and comfort. Looks like you had a blast! Can't wait to have an opportunity to go back
I really really should get some.. The riding out there is just an entire new world compared to most of the US. Its absolutely awesome!! Hope you can get back out there soon!
Man I'm impressed as well as intrigued. Did these trails on a mountain bike and always loved technical trails. Sportbike track days etc. I'm overlanding now in Moab in a lifted 4 runner, but the bike seems so more practical and fun! I could carry one of these on the back of the 4runner and not risk loss of my my transportation/home. Looks like a better fit for me as well. Just like the 2 wheels. What are some capable bikes I should consider? Need light of course to haul on back of the toyo, but want something really capable as well. Thanks for the inspiring video!
Man! You are a gluten for punishment. There is absolutely NO WAY I will take my T Dub down there. In Fact, I do not want to take my quad on that trail. You do/did a great job, both with the video, and the bike riding. I have seen people walk right up to a huge drop-off like that. I can't do that! I have been know to crawl on my hands and knees to look over the edge. I use to ride in some rugged places in my younger days on my dirt bikes, but I have never rode in terrain like that with a dirt bike. Like I said, I have ridden my Polaris Sportsman in Moab, but that was many moons ago. I will stick to Idaho. In 1977ish, I scouted out a single track close to Mt St Helens. The map showed five 180 degree switchbacks, but there were 33 of them. I was riding an XT500 back then. I got 3 other guys together and told them about the trail that I found, and all 3 were game. They were all much better riders than I was. One of them asked me how he should gear his bike. He would change his countershaft sprocket. I told him to put on the lowest gearing that he had. He looked at me over the tops of his glasses, (you know the look), and I told him that he would never get out of second gear today. All three of them were off like a shot. Every place that there was a fork in the trail, they would all be waiting. I would point which way to go, and they were off again. When we got to the switchbacks, I caught up with them. It seems that my thumper with the bottom end torque was way better than their 2 strokes. The Switchbacks were so tight that going up, I would lean back and blip the throttle lifting the front wheel. I would then swing it down to the next part of the trail. Going back, I would have to shut off the bike and get off and drag the front end around. All of us had so much fun that day. I asked the guy when we got back if he ever got out of 2nd gear. He said that he did not. It was a tight twisty trail, but a lot of fun. We did not have any rocks like there is in Moab. Sadly, that trail is now covered with several feet of volcanic ash. I am looking forward to watching you on the trip back!!!
Oh it was definitely one of the gnarliest trails i've gotten to ride for sure! Loved every minute of it though!!! Thats an awesome story!! Such a shame that area is no longer rideable.. I'm excited to keep the videos coming!
You gotta get a good radiator gaurd for this and off road riding in general. Ive smashed that part of the bike in the desert at speed digging my front tire into a huge silt bed and the radiator was well protected. The one i bought was from Flatland racing but there are many companys making these things. Great video!
tbh, I was quite flabbergasted and would never put a wheel on those tracks ! (even with my WRF!!) Some passages are way too difficult! kudos for riding there and take care!! (drone really shows how steep some walls were!)
It was a super gnarly area for sure! Glad I was able to take you there with the video! I love utilizing the drone for those vast areas because it’s one of the best tools for giving a better perspective on the environment!
I’m glad you liked the video man!! The cameras definitely don’t do it justice I agree.. More coming out from the Utah project soon and I’m excited to see what the summer brings 🤟🏼🤟🏼
Im currently like 19 min into the video and saw a few better line choices than what you ended up taking. You took some harder lines in some of those rock obstacles lol! Love the content though!
Yeah I saw a couple when i was editing too, but all I know is that off camera, I scouted all my lines before hitting it, so I mus've had some reasoning for it at the time hahahaha Stoked you love the channel man!!
Try to keep at least one foot on the pegs, especially on those gnarly obstacles you’re climbing up. Soon as your weight comes off the pegs all traction is lost
Boh….
Yeah my old sprockets did have that! Part of the battle is trying to nail down a set up that is as close as i can get to perfect for both trails/single track AND adventure riding. I use that bike for everything and its soo hard to get the setup just right hahahaha

Ya, I noticed that. Lol.
Great riding and footage. Thank you for sharing. We need to get some more ride videos up on our channel too.
Great production quality man! It’s crazy how smooth the fender cam footage is even when it’s bouncing all around on the rough stuff. Great vid!

Great video man, production is great and the riding skills are impressive.
Thanks so much!!
Please stand up on your bike... And get some momentum before these obstacles. It's painful to watch sometimes 😂

Wow, awesome video. Props again, that's a rough-ass trail beyond my skills. Well done!
Thank you!!
Great video. Camera doesnt show how big those steps really are. Awesome job completing PC. Hope you got to do PS to GS and down GBR.

Stoked you liked the video man 🤟🏼
Love the videos, just found your channel after picking up an FE 450. Definitely motivating me to plan a Moab trip 👍
Im stoked you like the channel!! I highly recommend getting out to Moab if you can dude. It is like riding on Mars.
14:25 nice "splatter" move there and well documented by the off bike footage. That skill comes in handy!
Thanks! Yeah the challenge is definitely being able to do it with such a short run up, but we got it done!

Stoked you like the video! I think I would look at a Husky or KTM 300 two stroke. Super light and very capable on this terrain!

The front bag is from Wolfman luggage!
Awesome job it looks vary similar to Hemingway

Take a look at the Chris Birch video where he rides this trail. Pretty awesome. Love the fender cam.
I saw it! It’s absolutely nuts they rode Pritchett with ADV bikes!! Stoked you like the video man!
Your a great rider, is there any 250 or 300cc bike that would work for you ? Honda Yamaha Suzuki. I"m to old for a big bike, thanks !!!
Thanks!! I think the KTM or husqvarna 300s are absolutely awesome! They would be perfect for this trail.
I enjoy dual sport and mtb. That trail is a completely different experience depending on what you're riding.
Absolutely true! Every vehicle (motor or not) is going to handle the terrain differently
