Viewers- If you know this trail, please keep coordinates and trail names out of the comments section. Thank you . Note: I can't believe its been over a year since the last time I rode this!! Super stoked I got to see it again before winter.
@Whitaker69696969 part of the reason these places are incredible is that they take work to find them. If I published something and suddenly 100,000 people know the area and everyone shows up, then we risk having trails covered in litter, traffic, heck they may even shut down a trail like this if too many people get hurt on it. I leave it for the adventurers out there to get a glimpse and be inspired to pick up a map and plan a trek of their own!
I have commented on your videos before. I owned a TW200. I found a quad trail with my Polaris quad a few months ago, and it was easy. I very nice trail. I said to myself that I needed to take my 200 on this trail. I found the time, and went up this trail on my TW. Now, remember, I said that the trail was easy. Well, I was scared to death all of the way to the top. Going back down was a little bit better, but still not good. I am 77 years old, and have been riding dirt bikes since 1966. I finely just admitted to myself that due to poor balance and sorry reactions, I needed to sell my TW. I sold it a couple of months ago. Part of me was sad, but part of me was relieved. In my younger days, I question if I was ever good enough to ride on a trail like this. You do such a good job of both riding and narrating your videos. I have said it before, I do not want to even walk on a trail like that. The fact that you did this trail on a 501 is also amazing to me. I had an XT600 for years, and those big bore bikes have a fairly high first gear. They also have good low end torque, BUT, they are still high geared. At least when compared to my TW. I really do enjoy watching your videos. I still have my quad, and I ride it all of the time, and the best part, it does not tip over. LOL Well, a quad CAN tip over, but I really work at keeping the rubber side down. I am glad to see that you so-called wimp out at times. That is good. That means that the little voice in the back of your head is paying attention and trying to get you home in one piece to make another video that I can watch. Like I said, good job on the video and with the riding.
A healthy respect for the dangers of this sport are wise! I'm happy that you still have that quad to go explore the mountains! Thanks so much for all the support! I love producing these videos and hearing these kinds of comments makes me really happy. Honestly, this trail is easier than you'd think. There just isn't any room for error. The 501 also sits super tall and has a touchy throttle, so those are the things I usually have to be the most careful on. I think its one of those trails where you just ought to know your bike well if you want to ride it. I've seen a couple of those XT600s before and they're super cool bikes! Kind of like the TW, they are purpose built machines. I'll make a deal with you- I will do my best to keep the 501 rubber side down and you do the same on your quad 🤟🏼🤟🏼
@@madjack_757 Yes, the rubber side definitely needs to be down. You have a deal! LOL My 1986 XT600 was a dirt bike that you could take on the road. I sold it years ago, so 3 years ago I started looking for another XT600. I found a 1994 XT600 down in Cali, so I did a road trip and bought it. I gave it a top end overhaul because it was a little tired. When I started riding it, it was very apparent that the 1994 XT600 was a road bike that you can take to the dirt. There IS a difference! was riding a 2 track with it, alone of course, and as I was going around a tree that was across the road, the bike tipped over. It took me 25 minutes to figure out a way to lift up that top-heavy high-geared beast. I loaded it up after riding it 30 miles back to the truck, then I took it out to my favorite Motorcycle shop and had him sell it. That was when I bought the 2022 TW200. At least I could pick it up if it tipped over. That trail might not have been too challenging, but I have a thing about cliffs, and I would have been soooooo nervous about making a simple mistake, that I am sure that I would have made a mistake. I could probably walk that trail if I had my walking stick, but my body would stop working after a mile or two. LOL I will make another deal with you, you keep making your videos, and I will keep watching them. Thanks so much for the reply.
It’s funny you talking about the fear of smacking your bars on the rock face and going over. The turn at 9 minutes, I did exactly that and ALMOST went over on my first time on that trail. I dug my right foot into the edge of that turn and just kept pushing against my bike until I finally regained my balance. Scariest moment of my life. 😂
Am sure i have seen a video of a guy coming off this trail. Can't find the video now as a don't know the name of the trail. Or what part of the states it's in. Poor guy had to get airlifted. I fucking shat myself just watching the video and the camera fixed to the bike hope the guy survived in the end but was a dull one for sure
Another awesome video! I really love music but I'm so glad you don't include it on videos like this. Your commentary, the bike sounds and the views really focus me in on the ride! Great job!! Your video is as close as I'll ever be to that trail!!!
I actually had a hard time watching as you went around a few of those corners on the first half! LOL great video as always and so cool to see new terrain and trail systems!
One of the trails my son and I ride is a multi use trail system. Rule is if you come upon a horse you pull over, turn your bike off, remove your helmet and wait for instruction from the person on the horse. PS - that is one sketchy looking trail. Awesome views though!!
I used to do this for every horse, still will if it's a very narrow trail. But I have been told by every horse rider that I removed my helmet for that I shouldn't have to do that. They say if the horse is that spooked, it's irresponsible to take them out on a public trail. Makes sense.
This is the best trail riding channel on TH-cam, the footage and upload quality is incredible. I got lost in those vibrant tree and flower lined trails and felt like I was actually riding there for a minute. Also Pedialyte is the best damn thing I've ever tasted.😅
FYI, no one who knows that trail will call any type of riding you do pansy riding there- that's shits legit. Here's a way to think about duck walking (or any safety decisions on) your bike (what I say) - "I do whatever it takes to make sure me and my bike are able to ride again tomorrow". A hoaky way to look at it is, "there's lots of bold riders and lots of old riders, but there aint no old bold riders"
bit off topic.. but I saw in one of your last videos that you bought the bike used. If you financed it, what does that look like? I dont know of any CU/banks that will finance a used bike, especially privately sold.
Horse has right of way and you have to just figure it out. Sometimes they can just pass by if you move over and other times you have to find a way to turn around and go to a point there they can pass.

Out of curiosity, what is the logic behind keeping the trail a secret if it's not public land? Or is it not public land?

Do we get to know the state at least? lol

I'm 38 and feel "old" at times. A comment like this gives me hope that I have many years of riding and exploring left in me 😊

Dude you are soooooo lucky!! That woulda been an airlift for sure 😵
Way to save it man 🤟🏼🤟🏼

It does happen. People have been airlifted from that canyon..

I agree! I think the main chunk of the video is best with just ambient sounds and helmet audio 🤟🏼
WOW!! Nice trail! Great ride!
I must say as far as trail riding videos go. You make by far the highest quality videos I’ve ever seen.
Thank you so much man!!
Very cool man!! You’re badass 😊
Looking forward to watching this in the morning but I already know it’s going to be very good. 👍
It’s one of my favorites! Really happy I got the chance to see it again before it’s covered in snow.
I would maybe walk that trail😂
Not a bad call 😂🤟🏼
You might be insane, but you make a great video.
🤟🏼
I actually had a hard time watching as you went around a few of those corners on the first half! LOL great video as always and so cool to see new terrain and trail systems!
Hahaha the first half of the trail is so sketchy! Such an amazing view though!
@@madjack_757 I agree and that shot you had of looking back up the canyon was just beautiful! Looking forward to your next ride adventure!
I ride horses in the mountains and love watching your videos. I just want people to get out there and have some adventure.

Looks like some sort of large cat above you at 3:21? Nice scenic trail, although I would be too scared of falling!
Yeah I noticed that while I was editing. I think (I hope) its just a log lol. Yeah this trail is definitely one with some serious pucker factor to it!

Thanks so much! Pedialyte is so good when you’re out on the trail and run out of water lol.
Multi use trails are amazing and since we're the loudest and fastest on single track, it's up to us to make a good name for offroaders.
I agree
Nice video. Thank you
The amount of extra pants I'd have to take with me on that trail really outweighs the reward for me hahaha. Great video!
Hahahahahaha! I'm stoked you liked the video!

I’m with ya man! My goal is to make sure I get to ride another day 🤟🏼
I’m hoping to be one of the old riders someday 😂😂
Love your enduro bike, you probably said it before but what is the make and model and size cc is it?
Thanks
I live in Colorado so I ride a lot of mountain single track but this trail scares me !
Lots of horse contact here in Arkansas. I just stop and wait for the good ol’ wave on or for them to ride by me.
Fantastic videos, and top notch editing. Wat helmet mount do you have for the camera?
Thanks! It’s pretty standard mount that I picked up online. I don’t use an adhesive mount for the helmet though, I use physical straps.
Not ideal to fall to your death is an understatement. And. I love it.
Super tight corners a technique I use bike stopped front brake on feet on ground push on bars pivot back around
bit off topic.. but I saw in one of your last videos that you bought the bike used. If you financed it, what does that look like? I dont know of any CU/banks that will finance a used bike, especially privately sold.
I did not finance it, but maybe a bank out there could offer you some kinda auto loan for it.
I ride horses and dirtbikes but I’m not sure I have the nerve to ride either on that trail
Also. I’ve been riding all kinds of bikes for 50 years and I was a bridge foreman. Nope. Haha
This is an out and back trail, correct? What's the approximate one-way mileage?
Yup! About 5.5 miles each way, so super super short 🤙🏼
@@madjack_757 I just got to the point where you mentioned it being a turn around at the end and head back.
I would spend to much time parking and fishing.
If you and a horse meet on that trail who gets the right of way and how would you pass each other?
Horse has right of way and you have to just figure it out. Sometimes they can just pass by if you move over and other times you have to find a way to turn around and go to a point there they can pass.
Do you ever wise you had the 350?
Honestly not really. I love how much power the 501 is and I’m willing to manhandle the bike for it 🤟🏼
Based off of the hardcore exposure the trail has, I bet I can guess the state.
California
@@madjack_757 Welp, I was wrong. Looked like Idaho.
"Looks like" a critter above him, @ 320?
I think it was a log but it does look like an animal!
All things in life are "risk VS reward". For me personally, no way. At no fault of your own, some very bad things could happen.
I've seen a lot of people ride this. I have zero interest in ever riding this trail 😂
Hahahahaha!
Is this northern california?
