    We must speak a similar language because the "YAAAAS" and "NOOO" directions made so much more sense to me than other tutorials. Thank you!!

    Great video and you are so entertaining. I really, really want to sew my own garments but it seems so much more complicated than when I sewed decades ago. It could be my shape has shifted, even without childbirth, or maybe fabric selections have increased? I appreciate your explanations so when I shop I will know what to look for to get the best results. Thanks again.

    This is exactly what I needed! I couldn't quite catch the explanation on the print from Ellie and Mac, I needed to see it! I have a problem another person mentioned here: in the online store I found here in Italy, they don't mention if the fabric is 2 or 4 way stretch... that doesn't make it easy to choose fabrics for my projects 😥

    You did it nice! But the (internet) store I buy my fabric don't say if it's a 2 way or 4 way stretch. Thank you for this lesson, 😗

      Thank you for your comment! When I started sewing I never knew anything about stretch, and generally thought woven was for everything. I have learned a little since then. I hope to share even the simplest of things, because I feel like there is always someone who can use it.

      Clovis Perkins I feel like we all have done this. It’s something you learn either by experience, or just learning more about fabrics. I’m glad you liked the video. I am trying to bring even the smallest bit of knowledge here. You never know who could use it.

    I think it would be much easier if it was known as one- or two- way stretch. One way being just horizontal and two-way being horizontal AND vertical. Just makes more sense to me

    Is it possible to use 2-way and 4-way fabric together? Or would sewing these together create some problems?

    When using a fabric with more stretch in one direction, what's the best way to lay the pattern? should the extra stretch go from left to right or up and down?

    • @EllieandMacPatternsLLC
      @EllieandMacPatternsLLC  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      The greater stretch generally runs from selvage to selvage. This is the part you want to go around your body or left to right.
