Great information on the knit fabrics. Sometimes there is a knowledgeable sales clerk at the fabric store to help us pick out fabric but it's really helpful to hear the things you've just taught us especially since if we know enough to feel confident, we can even order online. Or at least know what to look for and order swatches.
As far as my favorite to wear and sew, I'd have to say the cotton lycra for tops and leggings. I love the feeling of cotton next to my skin. I do have a few good quality cotton knit dresses too, but I agree with you that rayon for dresses is very flowy.
I'd like to try the French Terry. It does sound comfy.
    Thank you so much!!

Thank you for all the detail. It does give me a little more confidence and reminds me to read the fine print. I remember someone on here talking about how they are a visual learner and like to see the patterns. I an a kinesthetic learner and need to touch. I am trying to find a vendor that will send samples for me to feel and catalog. This is one of those time I wish I was on social media.

oh yes! I Love French Terry and when I first started sewing I thought it was all created equal... oh what a shock I was in for when I received fleece lined French Terry I ordered in the middle of summer only to realize that it was way too hot to sew anything at that time 😂 but that's ok, It made an awesome hoodie later that year ❤️

    Fabulous video! Excellent idea!
So many beautiful different designs in the USA. Wish we could get them in Australia lol. Always very jealous of your finished items hehe.
My favourite fabric is cotton rayon. I wear it year round as we get pretty warm down here, even during winter.
I just sewed with squish for the first time. Omg! That is lush fabric lol.
My tip is use clips instead of pins. If you feel you need backup support, I will pin behind the clips but sparingly.

I like crepe silk fabric and linen fabric, I make sleeveless dresses, like pinafore dresses, and I like denim for winter, for pinafore dresses, I make them so I can wear t shirt underneath them so I can wear the dress more than one day, saves on the washing, just change the t shirt every day, and you can choose different colours for the t shirts, to change up the look of the dress

Could you recommend trustworthy fabric stores or fabric brands? I've only shopped at Johannes Fabric my entire life. I've sewn polar fleece a lot, but never made anything in 4 way stretch. I bought a number of your patterns and I'm excited about starting but looking for the right fabric has me stressed!

Beautiful fabrics! I hang my clothes right out of the dryer and Rayon never wrinkles for me and I love that it is breathable since I live in the HOT south. Now the cotton lycra looks slightly wrinkled to me straight out of the dryer. I have not tried French Terry so I will have to give it a try, Thanks!

I love this video. Thank you for explaining fabrics! Of course, I just received an order that I placed online with a few choices that I had no idea about lol I did order some French Terry though and oooh la la it’s just so soft and yummy, I cannot wait to try it, I have only used bargain bin and practice fabric so far. Do you think this fabric (French Terry) would be good for babies? .. I so want to make the sleeper gown for a friend that recently had a baby! 🪡 💕 Love your doggie 🐶 ❤️

Sometimes it depends on the quality of the actual fabric 😏 some DBP is great and some will pull after a couple of washes. I think the thicker the fabric the more possibility for pulling.

Is cotton lycra the same as cotton spandex? I've done a couple t shirts with cotton spandex and the neckband looks bad after a wash or two. Is that expected?

DBP can show panty and bra lines. I usually wear a cami under and sometimes a slip. It depends on the garment.
