Thank you very much for this extremely informative video etc. It's been at least 20 years since I have sewn on velvet. Needless to say, your tips reminded me of what I need to do in order to make a really nice garment.

I love watching videos like this - especially as I'm holding my gorgeous new fabric and feeling so confused about what to do next.
I'm pausing the video, I've cut off a small test piece and I'm about to wash it on 30 degrees in the machine (instructions say cold wash so I am not sure if that is machine washing or by hand) - anxiety has gone down to zero. Thank you so much!!

Excellent video - Lots of helpful tips. I have never sewn with any stretch type fabric and will watch the other videos you recommended However, I usually do a high round back adjustment and a forward shoulder adjustment on bodice patterns. Would these adjustments be necessary when using Minerva crushed velvet or would the stretchiness provide the extra room I need to give a better fit?

I would probably still recommend making these same adjustments if you usually need them, but a knit stretch fabric like this does definitely give you more ease of movement on fit

In your video, the edges of cut panels do not roll and stay flat, but on my project, all edges rolled in and can't sew at all. Any advice?

Hi, we can’t replicate any issues. Please can you contact us on sales@minerva.com perhaps with a screenshot of what you can see at your end, and we can try to help

Can you tell me why my seams line up when I pin, but one layer always becomes longer after sewing?

This could be a feed dog issue in which on side is being passed through at a different rate to the other. A walking foot would really help this issue 😊

This is a great video, very informative thank you. Unfortunately, I struggled to hear what you are saying, even with my volume on full.
